I already sent this to Crow'sia, but she said to post here for member's opinions;
My suggestion is to add a shop, to buy things just for fun. I first suggested that you can buy charries there, but that idea was already rejected by Crow'sia, but here are some other things that can be bought:
The use of a siggy or avvie, custom title, italic name, bold name, colored name, custom stars, etc.
It also automatically also comes with "pets" you can buy, just for fun. It automatically comes with alot of stuff, actually. I just delete most of it(weapons, medicine, etc.). You can add as many other things you want, and you can put a limit on how many things people can buy.
I use it on my site, and I find it very fun to use and very effective.
So... Opinions?

How do you earn the things to buy stuff? And who will make the avvie/ siggy and whatever?

By posting I think. Kind of like on Svajone or the RPGC, you get points for every time you post.
And thats a very good point too.

You get ten points for every post.
You can request one from the graphics board, or make it yourself.

So you'd be buying privileges to avvies/ siggies then? In that case.

Basically, yeah. But the option can be turned on and off, so I just leave it off on my site. I dont find it fair, truthfully. xD

Sooo...basically all you'll be buying are pets? And where do you keep track of your points? Just in a thread? And do points count for posts OOCly?
Personally I think it will just get confusing. And I've never actually seen a shop so I don't know how it works. Though it might be fun if you could buy something you wanted. But I'd much rather have a c-box! -nudge wink Crow!-

We have a Cbox. XD It's a link form so I don't have to wait for it to load. It's pops up instead (which might be bad for folks with pop up blockers, we'll see if we get complaints.) Its in that table at the top, with the other links (Rules, Affliate, etc) ^^ I can't believe no one's really noticed it. =D

Aye. Umm.... Kinda hard to explain. Let me take a screenshot on my site, and show you. Hold on.

Sorry it stretches for the forum, Crow'sia. I'll put it as a link if you like. NOTE: This is not how it will appear in your profile. I have merely cut and pasted different screenshots into one iimage.User Control I numbered it to make it easier on me to explain. xD I did on paint, and im not that great at drawing ovals. So excuse the messy-ness. xD 1. This is the amount of credits you have, ten points for every post. DEC is the name I gave it on my site, standing for Distant Eagle Credits. For here it could be NSD(Night Sky Dollars) or something of the sort. The c- is just some random sign I put there instead of the $ sign. 2. I messed up on this one... I meant to only circle "Shop." When you click that link, found only on your profile page, it will transfer you directly to the shop. (See 6) 3. See "Admin Control" 4. Right here will show all the items you've bought, if there was an image you made for it. If not, it will only be shown in number 5. 5. Any items you have bought will be put here with a complete description of what it is. 6. This is the amount of money you have at the moment. This is how you will be able to tell whether or not you have enough to buy something. 7. (Not marked on screenie). The rest is the actual shop. Where it says c-### / c-### is the buying price / selling price. If you decide you do not want an item, you may sell it. The Special Items area uses scripted windows to add your custom title, colored username, etc. Next you will see the "pets" I mentioned. They are nothing special, only will be placed where number 4 is marked. The last things on this screenie are the jewels. They dont actually give you any money, their just for show. Unless the admin decides to give them a purpose. xD There are a bunch of other things I have on my site not shown on here, but there's too many to show them all. Admin Control 3. This is for the staff. It is the Edit User Items/Money. From here you can give or take away the item they have, or remove money or give it. (Warnings or Prizes). Not numbered, but as you can see this is the admin panel. The circled area is what will appear in your panel after the code is installed. There is no need to edit the headers/footers code after you have installed the code, everything can be editted from here. I hope this has helped in explaining it, what it looks like, etc. xD

It's okay, it doesn't stretch is an insane amount and it's not a signature.
Hrm. That's a much clearer picture. I had a feeling it would be something similar to the RPGC (course, this one here is way more complicated I think)
I think if we did it, it would take some getting used to. But the real thing to figure out is what would be in the shop that's not already floatin' around. And I'd have to look up codes, I only know how to change the style of member group names. O.o

Oooohhhh....I see! It's not what I thought it was, and more sophisticated than I imagined. Could be quite interesting, depending on what was on offer.
And I've finally found the c-box, thanx Crow. Can't believe I never noticed!

personally i am not a fan of the idea. i know that svajone has one and all, but when it comes down to it, it was andre that added it and not me :3
the way i see it, NSE is a roleplaying game. if we want small luxuries such as pets then we can dowload those spiffy ones that hatch from eggs; coloured names would confused and befuddle and completely eliminate the idea of having staff names in a different colour; i find no attaction in underlining / bold / italics nor do i see its point; and ranking stars would again eliminate the whole point of working and roleplaying to get more posts and change your 'newbie' to 'OMGULTIMAYTE'.
i am sorry if i sound nasty, i often have a very harsh way of making my point (: its a nice idea, admittedly, but i dont like it and i dont think it would work (or be needed) on NSE.

Its actually not that complicated, it only appears more complicated than it looks. I can give you the code if you want it.
Kindred Blue: I see your point. That makes sense, and you dont sound nasty. To me anyway. I can be harsh in stating my opinions as well. (;
Over all, this was just an idea. I think it would be fun, but there really is no specific point to it, except that its cool. xD I mean, I suppose it works better for Studio sites like my Distant Eagle, then an RPG like this one. (:

The only part of this I really like concerns the point system -- motivation to post = good. However, I have to agree with Kin about the fact that this remains an RPG and quality role-playing should be its goal. I'd rather have people active and writing because they love to write rather than saving up for that oh-so-spiffy shop item.
Perhaps if it was made small scale? Like, instead of one post being worth 10 pts. it'd only be worth 5? Or extra points would be awarded to stellar writing or something.
I'm also not a fan of buying a personal color, because as Kin said, there'd be no point of staff/moderator colors. It could also become a little annoying.
