Mentally Trail's figure was rasing an eyebrow, wanting, almost, to chase her away. did he? no. He contunued rapidly wading out until he was swimming swiftly into deeper and deeper water. everynow and than a wave would crash over his head and then he would reappear lobes back, and snort heavily. High above, clouds were condensing and the sky was really ugly. The ocean was ravaging, and it suddenly seemed to be a really bad idea to be here, in this place, swimming to an island when it seemed nealry impossible to even get halfway there panic overwhelmed as he started to turn around to go back in, but an unexpected undertow was determined to say otherwise. He slipped under the surface of the water and a few long moments later came coughing and sputtering back up.lobes flattened, and he reached the fae - Memory, and sputtered" go back." and continuted to ravage against the undertow that was so determined to take him further out to sea.

Memory waded into deeper and deeper water. Finally her hooves left the ground and she was swimming. Unfortunately, she didn't get very far. She noticed the sky get darker and the waves get higher. She heard the stag's words but she couldn't go back if she wanted to. The undertow was too great. Now she was stuck in the same position he was. I am such an idiot, she thought. Try as she might, she could not go back. Finally she focused all her energy on staying where she was without dying. It worked a little. A high wave came crashing upon her. She went under but came back up soon enough. The waves seemed to be telling her to just let go and let the ocean carry her away. The idea seemed tempting. [/center]

The stag had been just far enough behind the faeso she was within earshot. The waves were coming with more enthusiam, and unexpectedly a monster wave randomly decided that it was time for the atrion to catch up with the fae. I't power sucked him into it, and it took him colliding into the fae. He squealed in rage and lobes pinned back, a subcomscious descion of his inner self was made. He would get them both out of here- or at least Memory- if it meant his death. My life is at stake, and your's is too, how could I lead this unto you, I feel the pain, I feel the loss, I feel everything I thought I'd lost..
After the collision, he started swimming diagonally towards shore, half parallel, half not. His massive weight was pushing the femme along as he swam,. keeping the two together. As they both swam to stay afloat, they seemed to slowly, possibly, be making their way more towards shore?
I't stoo damn bad, it's too damn late, I gues that we were meant to die this way, unless of course, we get pretty damn lucky - that is for horses-
The cold water had lost it's affect on him, he didn't hear the waves furious rant on the cliff's side, nor did he hear anything the fae might have potentially said. He was numb to eerything that was around him. His mind was focused on one thign only, that spot on the landthat would lead them out of harm's way. It' was a little more evident that they were making progress when his hooves scratched the surface of a sand bar. Though it was still too deep for them to get a good grip, the relief was still flooding his system, but the adrenaline was just begining.

She was beginning to lose it. Her body was losing energy. She felt more vulnerable than she had when she woke up in the forest. She felt the stag's body against her own but she didn't care. All she cared about at the moment was staying afloat. Another wave came crashing down. It wasn't as big as the last one so she didn't go down. Memory blinked whe she felt the land beneath her hooves. We're getting close, she thought. The feel of the ground made her excited. She summoned up her strength and kept swimming. Soon they were able to wade although the waves kept coming and the sky kept getting darker. Raindrops began to fall and thunder boomed in the distance. Lightning lit up the sky and the waves climbed higher and higher.

As the ground came up to greet their hooves, Trial's knees gave out, now unaccoustomed to bear his weight. With a grunt he arose back upon his legs and mustered up more energy than he could summon to walk, nearly trotting really, faster. the stag scanned the cliff for a no so "cliff-ish" spot and it didn't take him long to find one from this vantage point. there was only one problem. As the storm was begining it's ravage, the water.was.rising. He squealed at Memory, trying to get her to pick up her own pace, he knew she lacked energy, but he did too, and they needed to get back to the higher ground before the ocean got too high and too rigerous for them to tolerate. he squealed again with impatience, he didn't even know why he was still waiting for her, after all, he could easily just save his own life and forget about her. all he had to do was climb the cliff. Trodden with impatience the atrion lashed out with a for leg, bringing it viciously back down to the ground with a thundering clud and a leaping splash. In the background lightning flashed with terroring brilliance and the clouds were growing more ominous by the last blink. the waves were gaining ground and they were getting to the point where they were almost too rough for his weakening strength to brace against. They didn't have long to clinm the slippery, mosscovered cliff.

His squeals reached her ear. She sped up and soon reached the spot where he was at. Why was he waiting for her? Oh it didn't matter. The waves were climbing higher and higher. Come on, she said as she started to climb the slippery slope. It was a lot more slippery now. The waves and rain were to blame for that. (Hey! That rhymed a little!) She had to go slower than she would have liked to keep from falling. This was turning out to be an interesting day. It had gone from fire to water so quickly. It was freaky.

His anxiety eased - wait anxitey? erg. psh anxiety. When the fae started ascending the slope, he was right on her heeld. literally. Though the slpoe was slippery, and it slowed their progress, his hooves seldom landed wrong on the moss. a coupled times an unexpected washout of water cam down more-so than was expected but never did he fall from the edge of the cliff. Lobes pinned back bristeling at the weather, almost wishing it was a physical being that he could tear his rage out on. It had gone from fire to water too fast for comprehension. He's seen the mountains in the near distance; quite frankly, who could miss them? that was their far off destination. oy.

Memory reached the top just as the rain began to fall even more heavily. Lightening flashed and lit up the dark sky. Thunder boomed soon after. It's getting closer, she muttered. She looked down. The waves and risen rapidly. They were almost halfway up the moss-covered cliff and getting higher. A few thin trees bent in the wind while taller ones swayed back and forth. Things were not looking good. No. Storms like these were never good. Always bad. Very very bad. ooc: Muse is dying.

ooc: nooo not dying muse! -sob- ic: Stag grunted as he finally pulled himself up to the top of the clif. glancing down to see how much they had made it by- just enough. The fae muttered something, and he though it was something along the lines of " it's eating clover" He ignored the statement" Co'mon we need to get to the mountains" Sinew rippled 'neath streached ebon pellage. Exhaustion was built up in every limb, he just assumed that the femme was following, he cared and didn't care at the same time - wait is that even possible? whatever. His pace was a wierd troat- half canter half trot- but it was steady, and not too energy consuming - well that was as consuming as a full fledged canter of gallop might have been. Ais sacs screeched - piercing his massive chassis with searing pain with ever breath. lobes flicked back and forth between focusing on his destination, and listening to find out if the mare was following. Once he slowed slightly so he could cast a glance over his shoulder to see if she was coming - he wasn't quite sure.

bic: Memory heard his words and wished they didn't have to go but a rumble of thunder changed her mind. She followed him ruluctantly. Her muscles were under so much strain right now. The only reason she kept going was because a voice in her head was pushing her. Plus she didn't want to be left alone. Every now and then her eyes would start to close but they snapped open again. It felt like a knife was going through her body every time she took a breath. The pain was what kept her awake. She just wanted to lay down and wait till lightening struck her but she kept going.
