Puppet wandered into a sunny patch and looked over the edge of the cliff, hoping a stallion would come here soon. She wanted so badly to join a herd. "Wow...what a drop!" she muttered as she gazed into the foam.
Puppet didn't know about all the sorrow the cliff had caused hearts. Kowboy had jumped over after Graceful Rain did...and so had so many others. Hopefully, Puppet would not meet their fate too.

Deep rusty hue burned the green of the feild, and seared over the grey of the sky. Coal stilts cantered over the cool grasses, deep, soft eyes open to any mare that appeared in the need of a welcoming home, and loving stallion. Hot nare's opened, skull turning abruptly to the fem on the edge of the cliff. The canter dropped down to an easy, smooth trot and he soon found himself before Puppet.
In one graceful manuver, his skull had dipped and his foreleg rose and pawed the air as he had be trained to greet as a cow-pony and cutter. "Greetings, fine one." He said. His voice was deep, but not stinking in power and rage. It was smooth, and soft."My dub is Nameless Outlaw, but a simple Outlaw will suit me just fine from your maw." He said with a playful grin. "May I beg your title?"

Startled, Puppet looked up, and her heart pounded with joy. An unfamiliar face, but a friendly one! "I...I am 'A Puppet to You', but am called Puppet by friends..."
She looked at the ground, almost afraid to look him in the eye. "Where do you hail from?" Outlaw was polite. 'Fine One', whee! What an extravagant title! Puppet was quite flattered.

"I left from the Rocky Mountains..." He shook his coat out lightly and turned his head to nurse a wound on his shoulder. "... where I have just taken position as beta." He said with a proud smile.
His head dipped down, placing his mug at her shin and lifting her head up. "No need to seem so shamed." He said with a smile, pulling his head back to its rightful perch on his boa.

Kyoto stared in awe. "Ah...beta? Really! I..I am honored!!" she dipped her head in a stiff bow, mane tumbling down, hiding her eyes. Time to spring her question! "Well...do...do you think i might be able to join your herd? I've been searching...well, more like waiting, but..." Puppet fumbled for words. It was harder than t looked to find a herd.

The stallion smiled at her. She was quite... adorable acctaully. He nudged her maw. "That was certainly what I would have asked you had you not said anything. I'd be so pleased if you'd return with me to the Rocky Mountains. I already have permission from the King. He is a very kind stallion, so no need to worry."

Puppet's orbs grew large, in happy shock. "Ah...! M-my sincerest thanks!" She pawed the ground with her muddy hooves. She was beside herself, wondering if more needed be said. She would hate to offend the beta of her newfound herd.
Centering her mind Puppet at last managed to calm down. Embarrased she said, "Yes...of course I'll go with you!" Her ears twitched. "I am...indebted to you, Outlaw."

The beta stallion snorted a soft chuckle at her joy. It pleased him a good deal to see such a reaction.
"No, no you are not in debt. It is how things must be, no debt be payed. A beautiful mare is meant to be high in the herd." He stated, standing beside her and nuzzling her withers lovingly.

Embarrassed, Puppet flattened her ears and bowed her head again. "B-but...I'm...ordinary!" she murmured. No one had ever really given her a complement before. She was flattered, to say the least. Very flattered. Puppet seldom spoke to strangers, and to be accepted by one was... There wasn't a word for it. Her heart soared. She was actually going to have somewhere to settle down. And if the others there were as kind as Outlaw, she would have a grand life indeed!

"I supose. That doesn't make a difference. We're all ordinary. We all have legs and ears and eyes. But none of us are the same. None of use are ordinary." He said, lipping a tassel tenderly and skipping in the air happily, bolting several paces ahead, then trotting back to her. "Should I lead you to the land?"

Puppet looked into his eyes. Bright and clever, they were. "Yes. Take me there. And yes. You are right about that, too." She wondered what her own eyes showed about her. They were probably dull, she thought.
However, they weren't. She wasn't as dim as she thought herself. Puppet was always judged herself too hard.
I must start out right in Outlaw's land. I want to stay there...

The mare was very wrong indeed about her pools. Outlaw gazed at them a soft moment, drinking the beauty before circling about to stand beside her. "Then I shall take you to meet the Lord. I know will be pleased to welcome you."
(Leaves to Rocky Mountain.)
