As Ship made her way from the meadow to the beach, she noticed the grass getting more and more patchy due to bits of sand. The gray dapple mare could hear the waves now, and the salty tang in the air grew stronger as she drew closer to the ocean. Eventually the grass gave way to all sand. She slowly crossed the new surface, feeling her hooves sink slightly and she craned her neck around to see her own hoof prints leaving a trail behind her. Bits of broken seashells littered the shore, along with straggly bits of seaweed. She munched a strand experimentally, and found it salty but edible. She came to the water's edge and let the water come up to her cannon bones. She whinnied at Cheveyo to join her, prancing around happily in the water, the tips of her multi-colored tail swirling around in the sea. She dipped her black muzzle underwater, disturbing schools of small fish. They darted around her nose, tickling her with their slick bodies. She shook water off her pelt, sending a fine spray into the air. She finally stood still, letting the sun soak into her coat, and watched Cheveyo. “So since you lost your brothers, will you still continue to look for them? Or do you intend to find a home too, out here somewhere?” she asked. The flies seemed less troublesome here, though there was less to eat. She tried to decide if she could picture herself living here yet as she waited for the stallion's answer.

Cheveyo was only afew lengths behind Ship at an easy lope. Noticing how delighted she was and how happy the mare seemed to be, he smiled watching her bound through the puddles nd soon through the soft,welcoming sand of the beach. Bursting into a gallop as soon as the meadow grass faded to a hault, Cheveyo whinnied happily to Ship as he raced into the water,kicking up spray that splashed against his sides and chest with every large stride. He managed one good leap over a wave before he had to stop,or else swim the rest of the way but he didn't have plans on swimming today. Circling back towards shore, he flashed a large smile,clearly enjoying himself at the moment. When the water was shallow enough, he snorted slightly and briskly moved into a trot shaking his head to eash side as his mane bounced around against his neck while he threw out his left leg playfully. Every muscle in his shoulder was clearly being worked,flexing then recoiling , before flexing again with his quick but easy movements. Coming up along side Ship and letting out a breath to settle down he listened to her question about finding his brothers and finding a home. With both ears up-flickering arouns curiously he answered "I do not wish to find my brothers anymore. I have a feeling they're with my old herd." He paused for a second thining about finding a home. He was more than ready to find a nice spot to live, even find a good mare and start a family. He nodded a little, " I'm more concerned about finding a good home, starting a family of my own" He finished as he watched the waves and then turned his head to look as Ship curiously. "What about you?" He asked tilting one ear towards her.

Ship enjoyed her romp with Cheveyo until they both settled down. Her wet coat gleamed in the sun and she enjoyed its warmth with half closed eyes. The stallion told her he was ready to find a home and start a family, then asked her about her plans. She stared at the waves as they rose and fell, and listened to the sound they made as they came into shore, sliding just up over her hooves and then receding again. She lowered her head, realizing the long pause seemed kind of odd and knew she had better say something to him. “I don't really know,” she said softly. “I lost my foal.” Those words were barely audible over the sound of the ocean. It was so difficult for her to admit it, and so heartbreaking to bring it up. The days before Cheveyo seemed like a blur because all she did was eat, sleep and mourn the loss of her foal and how lonely she was. Now that she had finally told the stallion something about herself, Ship plunged on. “I carried him around for such a long time, and I thought everything would go well. The fire I ran from, it stressed me a great deal. My foal came early because of that, I think.” She walked further away from the shoreline and tucked her legs beneath her, suddenly feeling cold and alone. “He looked too small,” she continued, not knowing if Cheveyo was still listening or not. “All that effort to bear my foal and he wasn't moving. He never took a breath. He was my first foal...ever. I would have called him Sooty I think, because he was black.” Normally she would have lied, but she could find no other way to say it. If Cheveyo found her to be undesirable company now, she would understand. She had already proven herself a failure. She couldn't tell him that she would love to try again, have another foal. He would just laugh in her face, and move on to find a more suitable mare.

For a brief moment as Ship explained that she didn't know what she wanted to do with her life he thought it rather odd. Why or even how would you not know what you wanted to do with your life?? There were so many great things to try! CHeveyo had done about all of them listed under stupid and a few under incredibly dangerous before having his fill and being ready to settle down. He paused hearing her soft words explain that she lost her foal. Almost imediately he felt bad for asking,loosing a foal,loosing her foal must have been hard. A new,fragile life-worked so hard to be protected only to loose it before it's first breath was the worst thing possible for a mother such as Ship. He stood for a moment as the waved lapped at his hooves and turned when she walked away. Walking up along-side her he gently nudged her with his nose on her neck in a comforting mannor. Seeing the hurt in her once bright, and vibrant brown eyes he let out a soft breath. "Im so sorry. Truley I am Ship. You would have beed a great mother for him" He said gently as his blue eyes were now soft as they lookd towards the quiet Ship to makesure she was ok.

{OOC: Lol don't worry about it. Maybe you can get a new one as a birthday or Christmas present (though the latter is still pretty far off :x They shouldn't be too expensive if you save up ^^)
"I would have been, wouldn't I?" Ship said, glancing up with a watery smile. She blew a soft breath against Cheveyo's muzzle then stood up again, shaking her pelt free of sand. "You seem very at home here Cheveyo," she pointed out. "Do you think you'd like to stay here or do you still want to explore other lands with me?" She turned over a seashell that had managed to remain unbroken, its ridged white surface standing out from the sand. "I rather like it here too, but it seems too soon to make a decision. You don't have to go with me though." She gazed out over the beach, spying a few sea gulls hopping around a small carcass excitedly. Probably a fish that had washed up on shore. She wondered who owned this land. Was there a stallion around that they had yet to encounter? She'd even be happy to see a mare. Or would she? They might entice Cheveyo, distract him and then she would be on her own again. Now the pair had been here awhile, long enough that the sun was beginning to turn the sky a pale shade of orange. "The lack of horses around worries me a bit," Ship stated. She and Cheveyo needed to find a herd. If that meant encountering other mares, so be it. She neighed experimentally, wondering if anyone would answer her call. She swiveled her gray ears this way and that, listening. So far there was nothing but the hiss of waves coming into shore, accompanied by a distant cry of a gull, and the occasional sigh of wind. "What was your old herd like?" Ship asked. If the stallion would reveal a bit about his past, maybe she could determine how life in the wild functioned.

She breathed a soft breath out that traveled up against Cheveyo's muzzle. He shrugged a little as his ears flicked arou nsa little as he replied " I'm a fan of the ocean, but i'm a champion at exploring" He said tossing her a teasing smile as his ears went up happily.
When she neight to see if there was any hope of a reply,he listened closely but only got the sound of a soft breeze and the gently waves rolling against the shore."What was your old herd like?" She had asked as his ears rotated towards her a little as he thought about the question for a moment or two. He dipped his head a little at the memories that floated through his mind as he spoke. "They're not found of add colors-such as our selves. before I was born the herd was made of mostly bays,palominos,and chestnuts... I looked like an alien from the far corner of the universe" He said with a slight chuckle, but there was no humor in his expression. or his laugh. It was more of a slightly painful ' i now have herd phobia' type of chuckle. His blue eyes dulling faintly bfore lighting right back up again. "Just a bad herd over all" He said flicking his tail for a moment on his side and then nipping his shoulder.
(OOC: Sorry it took so long to reply!! i'm busy until late Saturday night :/)

Ship lowered her head again as there was no response to her call. At least Cheveyo seemed content to keep her company. She felt the stallion's mood darken as he spoke about his herd, revealing that they ostracized him for being the color that he was. Did this mean that the same would happen to her? It was probably the reason he had decided to hang around her in the first place. It really was a silly notion, and Ship wondered if all wild horses thought this way. “Should we cover ourselves in mud to find a herd?” she joked. She nudged his shoulder with her nose playfully, then pranced away from him. She stopped to look over her shoulder. “Where shall we go next, Mister Explorer? The desert, the mountains, the forest perhaps? What tickles your fancy?” She spun in a half circle to face him again, shaking out her gray, white and copper mane. “And no cheating,” she warned. “I got to pick last time so it's your turn.”
{OOC: Sorry for the short post. I don't know if you want to but if you want to play your new character with these two, we could have them head for Creekfall.}

(OOC: Ahh Great Idea!! haha I didn't even think of that haha xD Sounds good to me!)
Cheveyo lauhged at her comment of covering themselves in mud. "yeah, that would deffinately help" HE lauhged as he trotted after her and playfully nipped at her shoulder. "Welll,if my calculations are correct and i've don all the math correctly in my head 4 times in a row then I say we head to Creekfall...if you'd like to accompany me there" He said smiling teasingly as he reared playfully and pawed the sand as it sprayed up a little from his hoof striking the ground. He tossed his head and lauhged "Mister Explorer huh?..I could get used to that name" He chuckeld and broke into a lively trot ,his shoulder and hind muscles flexing as he pranced in a circle-letting the cool breeze from the water rush against his face as he shook his head in a lively mannor.
