For weeks now, she had remained solitary. Stressed and stropping because of the fight she had gotten into with Rhys. Because he would not play her games and the mare simply was beside herself with anger and rage. She was also hurt, emotionally and physically. Upset, and her pride had been bruised slightly. Luckily her physical wounds had been closed up and healed by now but she was still upset. She couldn’t bring herself to go anywhere near Rhys or the others. For now she was a ghost, moving over the cliff very cautiously. She didn’t want to slip. Her mind would not leave from Rhys though, there was no doubt in her mind that he was incredibly handsome. Mmm, she just loved to think about his rippling and strong muscles. His shiny black coat... yes, he was definitely gorgeous though Delilah was of course all the more beautiful. The beautiful dished face of an Arabian with the compact, refined and strong build of a Morgan that shone as red as a ruby in the sun. She was a proper red, a beautiful chestnut with the few odd white markings. As well as the floating paces and endless elegance that she possessed. She glanced around, unsure where to find Rhys now. It had been so long since she’d searched for him. She didn’t even know if she was searching now. All she knew was that she was fed up of being alone.

[glow=red,2,300]Rhys[/glow] [glow=blue,2,300]~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~[/glow][glow=white,2,300] Marriage is the tomb of love[/glow][glow=blue,2,300]~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~[/glow] She was driving him pert near insane! Her sent was everywhere he went... but she was never. It was true he loved all of his mares... but they would never be her. For weeks he'd followed the sent but she eluded his company. Part of him didn't want to find her. He'd been rejected by other mares of the land, but none hurt like it did with her. Very little things hurt him enough to retreat, and she had. But when he found her... standing up there, his breath caught. Her russet hair blew in the soft spray of the ocean. The firey reds of the horrizon blended and caused a shine like no other to bounce off of her. Why didn't she look happy? And more importantly, why did that upset him so greatly.
Now the voice of reason begged him to turn around. Delilah would no doubt be happy about his coupling with other mares... and he had no interest in death of any sort. That little voice, like so many other times, was shoved briskly away as he watched her against the sky from the base of the cliff. A final decision sent him leaping into a canter, come what may he wanted her company. He needed her company. The climb was fairly easy, he spent a lot of his time here and memorized the way up. The closer he got the stronger the sent, Rhys raised his upper lip to catch it in his nostrils... then tossed his head and focused. He looked little like he did weeks ago. No longer clean cut, no longer clean at all. Rhys loved to roll in the sand, he loved to roll in it until it caked in his mane and tail. Now he looked wild. Gorgeous, ruggedly handsome, fantastically powerful... check check aaaand check. Still her beauty captivated him like nothing else. Finally he reached the top, walking up behind her with an anxious look. "Delilah..." He couldn't think of a thing to say but just to speak her name felt like enough for now. "You're here." She had not been expecting him to have been out finding her, perhaps he wasn’t. Perhaps he’d just come across her and hadn’t had the heart to just ignore her further. She didn’t care anymore, she just needed someone. Though not just anyone. Not that prancy little foal, not the chubby pony, not the painted mare, or the grey or any of the other horses around. She kind of just needed to talk to him. Seeing as she had left on such bad terms and she felt that she wasn’t the only one who had been hurt by the words and blows exchanged between the two of them. ”Well, where else would I be? Where else is there to go?” She asked softly, the wind picking up the strands of her hair, the scarlet colour fading to a more orangey colour as it reached the ends. She’d always thought it quite beautiful. ”I see that you’ve discovered the sand,” she noted drily as she saw his rugged self. She hadn’t been expecting to find him yet out of the blue he seemed to appear right when she needed someone the most. He was as handsome as she remembered him, maybe more, she didn’t know. She just craved some sort of attention.

[glow=red,2,300]Rhys[/glow] [glow=blue,2,300]~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~[/glow][glow=white,2,300] Marriage is the tomb of love[/glow][glow=blue,2,300]~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~[/glow] "Where else would I go?" She'd asked him. He wanted to leap up at that comment. There were many other lands she could go, many other stallions. None of them were like him. None were that attractive. Surely she could catch their eyes though. While out of their league by a long shot, Delilah still had options if she was totally desperate. He nickered softly to her. Rhys didn't WANT her anywhere else in all truth. He wanted her by his side. "You don't have to go anywhere Delilah... I've never been anxious to have you leave." Why did he feel so relaxed and serious? It was so different from the last time they'd seen each other. So many feelings since then. Ones that Rhys welcomed only because they were part of her... the only part he had.
He nickered softly at her comment. "What do you mean? I was just rolling around on the ground and what do you know, I got filthy. Could that be the this 'sand' you speak of?" He joked, usually it helped lessen his pain... right now the tension was down right painful. The joke did nothing to help. He didn't want to laugh, he wanted her. That was all that really mattered right now. "Delilah... " He started slowly, to gain whatever courage he needed, "If there is any deity in this world he could testify to how much I've missed you." His words were serious... they were the truth. Little things did he treasure like a mare... like her. Rhys couldn't let himself be too weak, he didn't want it to hurt worse when she left. "What on earth have you been doing all of this time?" He asked. Had she been avoiding him? Plotting revenge. He double checked to make sure his ground was steady before waiting for her to speak to him... if she would at all. ”I wasn’t planning on going anywhere, Rhys. And even if you wanted me to leave, let’s face it- I’d still be here. I think we both know I’m very... strong willed.” She told him calmly, forcing herself to be calm. She’d had a lot of time to be angry, weeks, months maybe. But she was past that now. She’d run out of anger and now she didn’t know what it was she ran on, just that seeing him again made her feel happy even if they disagreed so often. ”You say that you’ve never been anxious for me to leave but you still seem quite happy to leave me alone and ignore me for all of this time. How funny.” She replied, taking a small subtle step toward him. It was perhaps noticeable but nothing to the urge she had to just be in contact with someone, anyone. Okay, perhaps she was lying. She was dying to be in contact with him, just to feel his warm, obsidian coat against her own burning red one. In an embrace. Just because she craved her company did not mean that she would do absolutely anything to get it. ”You’re always filthy Rhys, or at least your thoughts are. I can guess what they’re on for a large proportion of the time,” she told him with a playfully wicked look in her dark gaze as she closed some more distance between them. ”If you missed me so much then you should have sought me out. I’ve hardly been hiding. And I’ve just been wandering on my own, avoiding the other little mares you insist on keeping around. I’ve sure they’ve been keeping you busy, keeping you company. I’ve seen the little foal running around from time to time.” She said, closer still.

[glow=red,2,300]Rhys[/glow] [glow=blue,2,300]~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~[/glow][glow=white,2,300] Marriage is the tomb of love[/glow][glow=blue,2,300]~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~[/glow] Rhys tossed his head slightly, taking a cautious step forward. "I was aware of the terms we left each other on those months ago. I did not want you to leave but wanted to wait until you sought me out." He nickered softly. What was this horrible feeling he was having? It was strange and heavy, festering in his gut like a pile of sand. Was he feeling... sorry? Or even worse, wrong?! Sadly it was true. Even though Delilah's anger with him had caused him to worry, he had no real excuse for not coming to her... at least to make sure she was ok. He'd been preoccupied with his other mares also. Many of them were baring a foal, or had even given birth already. It was difficult to keep up with all of them, but that was the job Rhys had chosen to do.
Another step toward her, this one was a little more bold. Even though she was in so short terms calling him a pervert, some how it didn't bother him. In fact Rhys was slightly proud of the fact. It was his odd perverse nature that made him so successful with most mares. He wasn't full on villainous but he defiantly wasn't the good little pony either. The middle ground was always nice, a good sturdy place for him. However it was a place Delilah had the astounding ability to make waver and quake under his feet. Asking him to make decisions, even without saying a word. "You're right." He said with a slight wince, "Well... you're right about that at least. I shouldn't have avoided you Delilah... I've missed you, and I'm sorry." He'd gotten about half way to her, and his neck was stretched out, longing to feel her or at least the warmth her body seemed to glow with. Her next comments caused him to cringe and pull back. Ebon ears laid onto his head flat and he lifted his head. It wasn't quite anger, but it was painful. Painful because he knew what she had wanted from him. Delilah wanted all of his attention all of the time. Only her. It wasn't a stallions nature. True, he loved Delilah the most out of all of his mares. It was a different kind of love he shared for her that no one else could touch... but that didn't mean he didn't love the others. Maria, Setsuna, Stryker, Beauty... all were kept close to his heart. Monogamy wasn't plausible for him. He sighed heavily. "I told you before that I must have more mares... the foal is simply a side effect of my actions." His voice was heavy... tired. No doubt it would start a fight and Rhys simply wasn't in the mood, he backed away again. She gave a deep sigh, more than aware that all of the others seemed to be pregnant or nursing his foal and here she was with nothing. Nothing but herself and the various insects determined to rest upon her crimson skin. Beautiful as it was, it was not for insects to touch. Or even Rhys though the more she was alone the more that she wanted him to touch her. She just wanted someone to pay attention to her. She had her wish now but she wanted in the end for her to be the priority. To mean more to him than any of the other mares. That was as much as she could really handle or compromise with him for. To be the one whose company he desired the most. His special love. She would worm her way into his highest affections somehow. He was halfway to her now and she closed the rest of the space between them, her nose reaching out to gently bump against his own. Despite the fact that last time she’d been near his mouth she’d truly regretted it and found herself bitten and bleeding. This time however, she doubted that he was going to attack her for getting so close. He’d been venturing closer himself and who wouldn’t want her to be so close to them? She took another step closer, and another. Bringing them closer together before stopping when she decided that this was the end of the road and she wasn’t comfortable getting any closer. She wasn’t good with all of this touching despite the fact that she wanted desperately to be close to him. As close in his heart as possible. Delilah had been about to reach over and play with his forelock when he backed away from her. ”You think I don’t get that you feel the need to go off impregnating other mares? Spreading your progeny around the lands so that there can be a whole load of arrogant, hyper little foals? You’re an arrogant, vain son of a gun and I’m pretty sure you’ll never have enough foals or enough mares. But I want to be your favourite. I want you to want me more than everyone else. I’ll let you have your other mares if you’ll just want me more than them. spend more time with me than any others. Love me more.” She told him, moving closer to him once again. She didn’t want to be too far away from him. She’d been so far away for so long.

[glow=red,2,300]Rhys[/glow] [glow=blue,2,300]~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~[/glow][glow=white,2,300] Marriage is the tomb of love[/glow][glow=blue,2,300]~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~[/glow] Her words surprised him in a sense. It was not a new feeling to him. Though he had many mares, there wasn't one that made him feel like she did. Even before she ever asked Rhys loved her most... Rhys had always loved her most. His heavy mane tossed to the other side of his neck and he flipped his raven head against the sky. "I'm suprised you even ask such a silly request." Now a little bolder, he closed some of the space he'd created between them. If she wanted him, he would be more than happy to oblige. " I have always loved you most Delilah. Look at these mares, gorgeous I suppose in their own rights and ways... but they have never been you. " He inhaled and took deeply of her sent. Drinking in the mare he'd come to think of as unmarred perfection. A gentle sloe muzzle pressed against her withers ever so lightly. Any touch from her was a blessing. It used to be he couldn't even walk close to her without the pain of a bite, and vice versa. Rhys was a touchy stallion. The warmth he drew from being close to a mare was like basking in the rays of the sun on the rainyest of days. It was a feeling that Rhys hated to give up... he knew Delilah was anything but touchy. She could live a thousand years without the feeling of a stallion's breath on her mane. This was something Rhys could not do. He wore the heavy marks of exaugstion and regection in his spirit from what he thought had been the loss of her. It was what made him so calm now as to where he'd normally be trying to strut his stuff for her. A low nicker left his lips, gentle and quiet, he sung out to her. "They've never even held half of the space in my heart as you... and yes I am vain. Who wouldn't be if they were as wonderful as I am? You are also vain... with every right to be so." Again he smelled her, spirits above he could be drunk off of that sent alone! It made his head fly with unbridled passion. "From the flowing crimson mane and tail, to the dip of your very face. Everything about you far serpasses any of these mares. Did you honestly think they could ever even compare to you?" He mumbled, grooming her lightly. The steed knew very well she enjoyed compliments and hoped it apealed to her better nature. "Please... stay with me. I'm at your every call, these mares hold a place under you... all I ask is that you don't start fights or upset them. If they do so to you I shall make sure they recieve due punishment. I couldn't bare to live simply off the sent you leave around my lands again. I need you. More than anything else." It was thick, and a bit cheesy, but at least for once... Rhys meant it. “Silly?” She asked, ears flickering back and her hoof stamped slightly. She didn’t appreciate being told that her request was silly. She needed to seal the deal as it were to make sure that he wouldn’t go off wanting something new and also beautiful (though they would never be as beautiful as she was). Rhys’s moods were ever-changing and inconstant, it was part of the reason that she loved him... if that were even it. She didn’t know what this was but she knew that she wanted him more than she’d ever wanted anything else and she missed him when he wasn’t around. She wanted to be around him no matter how annoying he could be and was more than happy to nip him when he was annoying. She supposed it was love but she’d never felt anything like it before and would say nothing about it until she knew if she really meant it or not. “No. I do not deny that you have reasons to be so arrogant. They’re still annoying at times. Especially when you think you will win me over by prancing in my face.” She told him, letting out a deep sigh. “The amount you’re smelling me, I suppose I can only smell as good as I look.” She told him silkily, reaching round to nudge him softly. She needed some form of contact after so long away from others. She wasn’t totally touchy feely but she wasn’t exactly going to deny the off nuzzle and other sign of affection. She’d never be completely open to constant touching but she was beginning to enjoy it more now that he seemed to really mean it. He really missed her and it wasn’t just some attempt to get on her back. By now he must have known she wasn’t going to so easily end up with foal. Too scared to be alone. Fun and games and compliments were one thing, going through with it was another. “Flowing crimson mane that fade to orange like a sunset,” she corrected him with a slightly wicked look in her eyes. She was glowing practically with the attentions he gave her, and it put her in a far better mood. She turned around a little more so that she could rest her head against him. Figuring that was as touchy-feely as they were going to get. Well, for now anyway.

[glow=red,2,300]Rhys[/glow] [glow=blue,2,300]~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~[/glow][glow=white,2,300] Marriage is the tomb of love[/glow][glow=blue,2,300]~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~[/glow] Rhys couldn't help himself. He whinnied and reared up a little. His powerful hindquarters flexed beneath the strain of his weight. The sun was blocked momentarily by a flowing raven mane and bulky neck. He'd been serious for so long. When she hadn't full out attacked him for being anywhere near other females he found himself surprisingly happy. Not only did he make it away unblemished, so far, he could feel slight acceptance from her. It was something he'd been wanting for a long time, but never thought he'd have. When he finally settled back onto the ground the steed tossed his head in her direction and nickered lowly. She was going on about her not like his prancing but he was pretty sure as much as him showing off and trapsing around like a cocky yearling was annoying to her, there must be some part of it she must like. If not, Rhys was probably not a good match for her. At the same time, they were perfect for each other. They boosted each other's egos, and she kept his in check slightly. She forced him to show the rather distasteful sides of himself and it made him want to change... since Rhys strived to be perfect. Her velvet muzzle brushed against him and the stallion arched his neck up over hers to lightly groom her mane with his prickly top lip. She spoke again, correcting his former compliment, but he knew that her mood was softening. Her head pushed against him and rested there. The obsidian steed sighed deeply in content against the sun and let his head rest against her gorgeous mane. He could feel his heart beat a little quicker. "So... I suppose I shouldn't bring up breeding should I?" He said half heartedly, knowing it'd probably piss her off. He may be a stallion, but Rhys would always be a pig. The mare’s ears flickered back and she slid away from him as he reared. Why did he feel the need to rear and show off? Didn’t he already know that she was his, as much as she could be anybody’s? The deep unsettling fear behind all of her games that someone might love her less than she loved them was one that could easily break her. Especially now that she was finding it harder and harder to deny that there was a connection between the two. How powerful and how potent this poisonous link showed to be was something yet to be decided but she knew, deep inside, she could not continue her games anymore with him. What this meant about anything concerning breeding though, she did not know. And if he was smart he would not bring it up. Silly Delilah, it seemed, she’d forgotten how Rhys was stupid. She gave him a quick nip and pulled further away from him, distracting herself by watching the sea with the rising dark. Did he do this to her to annoy her on purpose? She didn’t know but it was coming to seem more and more likely.

Well... nipped, but the bottom line was her teeth connected with his skin! He snorted and whinnied in her direction, nipping and pulling a little on her forelock, but no where near enough to hurt. Just to trussle her up. His heavy sable hooves struck against the ground as he pranced away from her, muzzle tipped up to the bleeding sunset. "Well if you're going to be nippy then I do have other mares to check on." He surely hoped she knew he was only jesting with her... but he doubted it. The starless black stallion turned back to look at her with his deep brown eyes. "Unless you have something entertaining to do here... you're welcome to follow me. I'm sure Maria would looooove to have a long, friendly chat with you. Oh and you could watch the foals too." He said with a slight snicker. Rhys had a slight suspicious that Mabli would annoy her almost as much as she did him. Delilah didn't peg him as the patient mommy type. The steed snorted and turned back toward Delilah, watching her with coy eyes. "Or you're welcome to stay here, I'd be happy to come and find you in a few hours when I'm finished with my...duties." The stallion snorted again and turned on his haunches, trotting to the edge of the low cliff and hopping gracefully down into the sandy shallows. He hoped his joking wasn't about to loose him the love of his life. Her ears flattened slightly as he nipped and pulled at her forelock, her front feet leaving the ground momentarily as she pulled her forelock away from his teeth. She knew where this would go and she didn’t really feel like letting it get to that. She didn’t want to bleed, surprise to surprise. She’d seen for herself how violent Rhys could get if she pushed him hard enough and fast enough, yet she never wanted to leave him. They were perfect for each other and bad for each other at the same time it seemed. “I’ll be nippy if you’re going to move the conversation to breeding or any others. I don’t want to know about that pony you insist on breeding though I’m sure you’re going to break her back. And those foals? Let them near me and they will not come out unharmed. Why can we not just be together without you thinking of breeding me?” She asked, stamping her hoof grumpily. “Leave if you like, but if you do I will not be here when you return. I’m not going to play your games.” She told him snappily.

[glow=red,2,300]Rhys[/glow] [glow=blue,2,300]~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~[/glow][glow=white,2,300] Marriage is the tomb of love[/glow][glow=blue,2,300]~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~[/glow] Rhys whinnied loudly in amusment. She was funny to him even when she was being bratty. He'd known very well that Delilah would be cross about the foals... Rhys wasn't so certain he was enthused about them himself. They were too... tiny and annoying. He prefered the company of an adult horse. No he prefered the company of a mare. The sable stallion turned to his angry female looking amused. "It is far to easy to ignite your temper my dear." He said with a bemused gleam flashing through his eyes. Her comment about Maria and him breaking her back almost made the steed fall from the edge of the cliff with surprise and amusement. "And are you insinuating that I am fat?" The stallion trotted around her with his neck arched. "Because that is just so hurtful to me. I'll tell you what... let's test your theory. Let me get on your back and we'll see just how heavy I really am." His tone was light and silly but if she said yes he would most certainly accept her. The night was falling on them and the obsidian steed was slowly fading into the back ground. His dark eyes were fixed on his mate. To be honest he could not bare to be around her without thinking of rutting with her. What stallion could look at a mare of her magnitude and not loose it? Better yet one and lowly and perverse as himself. She should be well aware of such infactions of his character by now. Still... he didn't dare say that to her. It would get him no where with the lovely russet. A sigh drew from his chest and flowed from his sloe black lips, "Delilah surely you know I jest. I'm not going any where. Who else's company do you think I desire more than yours? Did we not just go over this?" He rounded her and sniffed at her muzzle, taking in her delightful sent. "Though I still don't know how after all this time you can ask me not to want to breed with you. It is my nature. I can offer you nothing else in order to get you to agree. You have my heart, the possition as lead mare, I cannot think of another thing I have to give to you in return for your compliance." He chuckled under his breath, "I would think you would want a foal. Most mares do... though I cannot for the life of me understand why." He drawled watching the tide with half closed eyes. “Just you, Rhys. You’re the only one who seems to get to me so easily.” She replied, though it was most likely because he was the only one within her heart. “No, I am insinuating she is tiny and you are large- powerful and strong of course. But surely you must know being so strong makes you heavy.” She replied silkily, not wanting them to get back into a bad place and knowing how much compliments appealed to both of them. She even went so far as to give his mane a little nibble before she returned her attentions to the sea. “Nice try, but I don’t think so.” She added, though she had to give him points at his attempt to sneak it into conversation. “That is true, who else could anyone want to be with more than me? I believe so before you had to ruin what could have easily been a wonderful and cherishable moment where I might have been inclined to bring such matters up before you ruined it.” She told him snappishly, bumping her muzzle against his softly when he sniffed at her. He was right of course. He loved her, she loved him and they were mates. Not something he would easily be backing out of. And why would he want to? He’d even made her lead mare so she was officially better than the other little mares in his herd. Ready to breed with him so easily and they were discarded just as easily as that. “I would not want a foal, I’ve always found them irritating. Though I suppose we could send it to Maria or some other herd mare who can stand them.” She mused aloud, watching his half-closed eyes. How did he expect to see the tide like that? She reached forward this time, tempted to nudge his nose to try and wake up him. Maybe then he’d smell the bacon. “Get on with it then.” She replied, a deep sigh released from her nostrils. She was sure she’d come to later regret this decision.
