[bg=000000][atrb=width,500,true][atrb=border,0,true]Running, it was all he felt he'd been doing. Running. The night was black around him, the sky empty of stars and the moon lost without a single kiss goodbye. Monsters surrounded the flat, solid ground in which the hooves of the Andalusian stallion pounded upon. They stood in a large circle, roaring and mocking the frightened young horse as he continued to run in a straight line. He approached the line of monsters quick, but couldn't stop his legs from moving until ... they vanished with a sour laugh and he blew right through their ashes. What kind of nightmare was this?
Ghost awoke, shocked that he'd been dreaming such a real dream. His off-white coat had a thin layer of sweat covering it as he lay curled under one of the large trees in the circle of trees. The sun was just beginning to set as Ghost pushed himself to his feet, standing and stretching his 16.1 hand high body before shaking out to fully awake.
"What an interesting dream..."
The stallion wondered out loud to himself before peering around at the faintly lit area. It was so beautiful, so peaceful here. The stud let out a little nicker of lonesome before heaving a sigh and lowering his crown to munch away at the juicy grasses.

Chantal A swift wind blew around the mares body, seeming to caress her in a soothing coldness. A chill lingered through her and she nickered with pleasure. Sun set was the perfect time of day for her, the cold was not to cold and the light the sun gave was beautiful and cast a orange and purple haze all around.
She lowered her head to the emerald blades below her, her lips gently nibbling at them. With a flick of her long tail and a few steps forward she continued to graze as the sun continued its setting. Not to long from now the moon will show itself and the land will be dark, a time when she could find a place by a tree to get a good rest for a new day..
She only thought that's how the end of her day would go, only when she herd the near nicker of another equine did she doubt things would go as planned. Raising her head with ears that lay flat on her skull only for a small moment, before she chose to ignore the distant sound in hopes that she would not be noticed.

[bg=000000][atrb=width,500,true][atrb=border,0,true]Just as Ghost had hoped, a nicker had been heard not too far away. It was a peaceful, joyous call of a lone horse, probably out enjoying the beauty of the day. Ghost scented the air around him, attempting to make out weather or not this was a stallion, mare or foal. Easily, Ghost made out that the other equine was a mare. Though most stallions were well into the game of harassment towards lone mares, Ghost much rather enjoyed simply being around another of his kind. He didn't even have to talk to them, he just wanted company. Of course he was just like every other stallion, having a sex drive and all, but at five years old, he wasn't quite into it anymore. Those years were more 3 and 4 for him.
After Ghost thought over it for a bit, he picked up a trot and moved gracefully out of the circle of trees and quickly spotted the mare. She was dark in color, tall and slender. Instantly, the stud could tell that this mare was no member of a herd and had no interest in being around other horses. She was at peace by herself. That, however, didn't stop the brute from approaching. He slowed his pace to a powerful walk, perfectly shaped hooves imprinting into the ground with each sturdy step. He was one of those horses who stood up right away as a foal. Ghost stopped and lowered his head next to, but not too close, to the mares to nibble at the grass. Before taking a bite, he spoke.
"I assume you enjoy being alone, seeing as your whinny earlier was joyous, but the sunset's too pretty to watch without company."
Such a smooth talker.

Chantal As she had expected, the equine had approached. She didn't care to turn her head or to smell the air to determine who and what it was, but she couldn't stop herself from listening. She herd the soft rumble of a horses hooves, with each second the sound would increase, the weight of the sound allowed her to determine it was a stallion. a beautiful night, until something she despised of decided to show up.
Her ears lowered a little toward her head as she went back to grazing, her tail now giving a quick flick as she stomped one hoof into the dirt. Just one thing that sounded like a flirting move would cause a.. désastre ! "I assume you enjoy being alone, seeing as your whinny earlier was joyous, but the sunset's too pretty to watch without company."
an annoyed snort came and then she spoke, a french accent slightly lingering in her tone, " I apprécier-- I mean, enjoy being alone, yes." she looked at him for a moment with golden eyes that seemed to be giving him a hint after speaking...
désastre = disaster apprécier = enjoy

[bg=000000][atrb=width,500,true][atrb=border,0,true]Ghost noticed the irritation with his presence almost immediately as she began to speak, but he felt he was doing absolutely no wrong, so she would simply have to put up with him. Or leave, then again, he hoped she wouldn't do that. When she spoke, the stud was stunned by the way her voice sounded. He was so shocked, in fact, that he froze mid chew and jerked his head up a few inches to look at her once more, making sure she was in fact an equine and not some mythical being. So she enjoyed being alone eh? Ghost lowered his head back down silently, thinking over if he should back off or not. After a few moments of thought, he decided to stick around and keep his cool. He'd give her space as long as she gave him the time of day.
"As do I, enjoy being alone .. I mean."
Awkward. That was all that could describe the situation as the stallion chewed what seemed like rather loudly, though he was probably the one one that could hear his chewing. Once finished with his mouthful, the stud spoke again.
"Fae, why do your words sound so .. lyrical, if I could see them in writing they'd be finely written, beautiful words while the rest of us would be plain. Why is this?"
Though he was hinting towards flirtation, he wasn't doing it on purpose. It was just how he worked. Curse him and his need to be a boy and charm every single lady he runs into.

Chantal
He would not be going away, she could tell. Maybe she shouldn't have even spoken, she was so use to being to herself she must have forgotten that she spoke a different language than them. She noticed him pause a moment after she had spoken, great, now he was more interested?
Chantal raised her head from the ground, only to stare out at the sun as only the top of it shined over a mountain top. She watched it, to keep her mind off the brute standing near her. To break the silence the stallion spoke, "Fae, why do your words sound so .. lyrical, if I could see them in writing they'd be finely written, beautiful words while the rest of us would be plain. Why is this?" . Pausing for a moment she looked at him, trying to process the question and to see if he was flirting with her? She really hoped he wasn't, it would be a shame to ruin such a beautiful night..
" I guess I would ask you the same thing? ", why was she even speaking to him? Was she that bored? But anyway, what she said is true, Her language is plain to her, but not to others.

[bg=000000][atrb=width,500,true][atrb=border,0,true]Was she trying to keep her gaze away from his body, or was it just that she didn't like eye contact? The stallion could feel a sort of tension under the mares smooth brown pelt. She mustn't really like company at all, but as said before, he was only here to keep himself from being alone. That wasn't all so bad, now was it? Ghost listened as she spoke a simple sentence, her voice sounding once again as if it was being written with a feathered pen on to hundred dollar parchment. She surely wasn't from around here. It was rare to find one who wasn't from close by, but it was interesting. It gave way to learn more about those from far off herds and lands.
Ghost considered her input for a moment, pondering the fact that she was indeed right, she could ask him the same question. A smirk came to his maw as he thought up a smart little reply that he hoped would bring at least a little laugh or smile to her rather annoyed outlook on the current situation.
"You're right, you could, but surely my horrid speech wouldn't be written in girly lettering. I would sure hope not at least."
Proud of himself, Ghost lowered his maw to the ground to take in another mouthful of the delicious Night Sky grass. What wondrous food these lands had. This was why he was challenging for Creek fall. He would be the lead stallion, and he would have the strongest herd of them all. Feeling confident, Ghost pushed on.
"May I know your name, fae?"

[bg=577d89][atrb=width,427,true][atrb=border,0,true] Chantal She turned to look at the stallion, he wasn't leaving so she might as well talk to him, see if she could get him to say a flirty comment just so she could do something that would get rid of him. Her golden caramel eyes met his and she waited for him to speak, which he did. But, it was a smart comment, was it suppose to make her laugh?
She despised stallions, only because half her life she had never met one. Just growing up with the mother, she was never exposed to them. Especially since her mother had moved them to an area where French was not there tongue...So her reaction to the comment? She just looked at him and spoke, "heh...funny.." a small smirk appeared on her face, " haha, my turn for the smart comment" , a smile appeared for a split second, but only cause of the thought she had just made...hopefully he did not mistake it?
As if he hadn't said enough the stallion asked for her name. She gave him a small glare for a moment before speaking, "Chantal"..

[bg=000000][atrb=width,500,true][atrb=border,0,true]Ghost was pleased that she at least thought he was funny. He was oblivious to the fact that she really wasn't all that impressed. He must have been blinded by how hard he had been trying to just get her to relax. Or maybe he'd just burnt out a braincell coming up with that last comment in attempt to be funny. Who knew. The stallion had asked, however, for a name and surprise, surprise, the mare gave it up. Her name seemed to dance around the studs ears as he listened to it, repeating it over and over in his head. He wanted to say it, but saying just it would seem rather weird, wouldn't it.
"Chantal ..."
The name rolled off his tongue like he had been saying it all his life.
"It's a very pretty name. I like it. I'm Ghost, in case you were wondering what to call me."
The stud was proud of his name, as it fit his appearance rather well. The off-white color of his coat could easily be forgotten in the mist of creekfall on some of those mornings. The stallions light blue eyes gazed out towards the sunset, catching a last ray of heat just before the sun dipped below the horizon. Almost as soon as it was gone, a loud, longing wolf cried out into the wilderness. It sounded rather close, but Ghost hadn't seen or heard of any of them coming after the horses just yet. The stallion was a bit worried, however, as another wolf, also close by, echoed the first one. Ghost snorted a warning, as if the wolves could hear him.
"Maybe it'd be best if we moved ourselves over into the circle of trees, only if you wish.."
The stud nodded his head towards the large willows and oaks that formed a protective circle next to a small creek. The wolves wouldn't be able to find them there, and the grasses around them would surely hide the sent. It was mearly a suggestion.

[bg=577d89][atrb=width,427,true][atrb=border,0,true] Chantal Chantal didn't like the fact that she had just told the strange brute her name? What had gotten into her? She was more angry with herself than she was annoyed that he was here? I guess she had forgotten how much she missed speaking to others...or her mom for that fact. When she passed, Chantal didn't know who to talk to anymore.
Her ears were now erect as the thought of her mother came up. Her head lowered a few inches while looking away from the stallion, or Ghost as he now informed her. Her eyes lay upon the sunset as its presence was slowly disappearing behind the mountains looked like silhouettes from the lack of light hitting them, all thought it was dark now, it was still beautiful to watch. As she looked from the corner of her eyes to see that Ghost was also watching the Desaparición sol.
She flinched a little too much as the howl of a wolf a little too close for comfort, echoed through the dark sky. The dang wolves is how her mother was killed, she didn't like to hear nor see them cause it brought back so much pain. Trying her best to show no emotion toward it she failed, her body became tense and she looked at Ghost once more as he spoke giving an idea she would have said herself,
"Yes, lets go" she may not like stallions, but she sure knows they are a lot stronger than her. In a time where a wolf was near she would not even care if three where standing with her...

[bg=000000][atrb=width,500,true][atrb=border,0,true]Ghost contained his joy as he picked up his head and moved with the heavy steps of a brute towards the circle of trees. His forelock hung in his face, making it slightly hard to see where he was going, causing him to flick his head up and down a few times to get the hair off of his face. Such a pain. He remembered being little and having short fluffy hair that always stayed where it was suppose to. He loved having that hair. What happened. Oh yea, he grew up.
Ghost pushed through the thick viney leaves of the willow trees until finally reaching the center of the circle. It was cool and slightly darker then outside the trees. The ground was moist and the sky was dark above. Ghost sneezed at the pollen that rushed up his nose.
"Sometimes I wish I lived in a cave, away from the wolves and the pollen."
He said this with slight annoyance. Why couldn't the world have things that were good instead of bad. Like honestly, what was the use of pollen and wolves. They just made those around them sneeze and feel scared. Total waste. Ghost lowered his head to sniff at the ground before taking in a few mouth fulls of grass. It tasted a bit different in here. Better even. Ghost could sense the tension still from the mare, even though they were fairly well hidden from the outside horrors of the night.
"Why do you seem so tense? What made you react that way about the wolves? They'll leave you be you know .."
At least, they always left him be.

Chantal followed him, staying as close as she could while looking back every second she could. Her tail flicked with annoyance and her ears lay flat against her skull as she snorted with displeasure. Her body rippled as she trotted closer to Ghost, so much tension engulfed her.
They began to walk through the Willow trees, the pollen never bothered her much. When they reached the center, her tension relaxed only a little but just the thought of a wolf gave her a bad feeling. Then ghost spoke, "Sometimes I wish I lived in a cave, away from the wolves and the pollen."
Chantal looked over at him for a moment after he spoke, then she soon followed with her french tones, " I wouldn't want to live in a cave, yes, the wolves I could live without..but..", she paused a moment before continuing, " If we had no pollen, then we would have no flores?" , her nose lowered down to a small yellow flower on the ground indicating that flores meant flowers. Her eyes closed as she inhaled the sweet scent the flower held, she then spoke once more while raising her head to meet eyes with him,"No flores, no meadows with the beautiful colors, there is nothing more beautiful then a field with red poppy growing in it...". the last of her sentence sorta trailed off as she realized she was babbling on about nature, just from what she said anyone could see just how much she enjoyed nature and its beauty. Red poppy flowers were her favorite, which is why they were mentioned in her little babble...
She looked away from Ghost, a little embarrassed. She had went from rude to him to suddenly nice? Maybe it was because she was shaken up from the wolf incident?
When he asked yet another question, she really didn't want to answer but she was about to until she was interrupted by a small rumble through the dark sky, she looked up to see that clouds had formed. Flinching a little as a cold rain drop fell from the darkness and gently plopped on her back, it rolled, slowly, down while a few other drops soon followed it.
"lluvia..." Her golden caramel eyes wandered over to Ghosts as the rain continued to sprinkle the ground.

[bg=000000][atrb=width,500,true][atrb=border,0,true]Ghost has listened with a smile as she shared her love of the beautiful red flowers to him. The stallion had to agree, a world without flowers was a world without color and in turn, a world without creativity. He guessed he was wrong after all, simply making a big deal about his distaste for a once a year spread of pollen. If he wanted to be with this fae, he was going to have to suck it up and spend quite a bit of time around flowers, just for her, because he wanted to make her happy.
The stud had been waiting for the mares reasoning as to why she was so tense. Had the wolves done something to her or her family in the past that he didn't know about or was she simply always this way and he was just starting to figure it out. Just then, thunder rolled through the land, the trees brushing against each other in a smooth roll of wind. Ghost heard the mares word and watched as a drop of rain rolled off her pelt. That must be what the word ment. Rain. The off-white equine looked up at the sky as the clouds seemed to open, letting the rain pour from the sky in a light sprinkle. From the way it looked, however, it seemed as though it was going to get much worse, and fast.
"Maybe this isn't the best place to be .. so close to a creek that could over flow and with no shelter. I know of an old bears den a bit away from here. I suggest we go there."
Without waiting for her response, the stallion picked up a brisk trot and moved out through the trees and once again into the land. The grass now looked to be a faded green, the only color in the dull gray looking land. Such a transformation since the two equines had entered the circle of trees.
Just then, a loud howl rumbled through the air, accompanied by a low growl of anger. Ghost stopped himself instantly, eyes wide in slight fear, unaware of where the noises were coming from. The young horses ears twitched at all angles, listening to the fae and listening for the wolves. His muscles were tense as he watched and waited. Were they close, or did it just seem like it. Would they attempt to attack, or move on like usual. Ghost whirled around to face two wolves as a horrid snarl pulsed through the air around him. The one was significantly larger then the other and dark gray in color. The other was small and a lighter gray. A mother and pup perhaps? They looked skinny, desperate for food, willing to attack something the size of .. well .. the size of Ghost or Chantal.
The stallions ears pinned as his head jerked back, his upper body rearing high above the ground in preparation to strike out towards the mother. Quicker then expected, the she wolf bolted to the right, easily avoiding the incoming hooves before lunging towards the lightly colored horse. Ghost let out a fearful whinny as his body shifted out of the way of the wolves teeth just in time. The stallion whirled around on his haunches, made eye contact with the fae before going to his fastest speed, ramming into the femme as he neighed loudly.
"RUN!"
Ghost pushed her forward once more to ensure that she got the message before taking off beside her towards the forested part of the land. They couldn't go to the cave. The stallion didn't even know if they could get away. All they could do was run.

She nodded as he spoke, agreeing with him completely. She trotted up behind him, the cold rain pouring harder. Her hooves slowly began sinking into the ground as she trotted near him, the ground had quickly gotten wet, so much that the ground could no longer soak so much water in.
When they had entered the land, it did look a whole lot different from before. She was caught up in the sight when both Ghost and her herd the near howl, it echoed through the sky while the sky offered its own noise as well. Chantal simply froze in terror, besides pesky stallions, wolves she absolutely hated.
"Mom.." Her eyes began to tear at the thought of her mom and the wolves. She looked near them to see the two wolves that had appeared, both looked to be starving. She froze yet again, sheer terror shot through her. Would she be able to move? Her head lowered somewhat to the ground, her eyes wide...she didn't even notice that Ghost had attempted to kick at the bigger one...all she saw were the two wolves, there eyes filled with nothing but hunger..
She was knocked from her daze when Ghost had rammed into her, throwing her off balance but she soon found it again and ran with Ghost, tears mixed into the rain as she ran. The ran felt like shards of ice being thrown at her, their hooves against the soft ground rumbled through the sky, almost in rhythm with the thunder.

[bg=000000][atrb=width,500,true][atrb=border,0,true]All the stallion could hear were the pounding hooves of himself and his companion as well as the thunder above. The howls of the wolves had vanished as the two intruders were busy sucking in air and rain as they pursued the two equines. Ghosts eyes darted around the landscape quickly in attempt to find any way of escape. He didn't want to die this young, or get injured for that matter. The stallion glanced toward the creek and noticed that it was high and overflowing, rushing quickly downstream as well as out, over the banks. That would be their escape. They would cross the creek. They could easily touch the bottom, being tall enough, but the wolf mother wouldn't dare force her weak pup to try to swim that. Ghost nudged the mare next to him before turning towards the creek and picking up speed. They only had a few feet of cool water to cross, but it would greatly slow them down. As the stallion raced on, his blue eyes glanced back to make sure Chantal was following shortly behind. She was.
Water rushed up to the studs chest and splashed into his face as he flew into the rushing water, pushing into the hard stone bottom strongly to get across the river quick enough. The stallion could hear the wolves barking behind them, but before they could reach the bank, Ghost was already out on the other side, calling to Chantal to hurry, just before she too was out. As expected, the wolves came to a stop, growling and barking angrily towards the horses who'd escaped them.
"This way. I know somewhere we can go."
Turns out, the cave had been on this side of the creek after all, so fortunately, the horses would not only be safe from the wolves for now, but they'd find shelter from the rain as it began to pour even harder. Ghost moved from a walk into a trot as he navigated through the trees back into the dark of the night woodlands until he found the small abandoned cave. It was only big enough for one and a half of the two equines, so Ghost gave up the spot in the dry for the femme. He nodded his head in motion to allow her to make herself comfortable and dry before shaking himself off, knowing he was only going to get wet again, and standing guard outside the shelter. Now all they had to do was wait it out until morning.
