They continued running, as did the wolves. It was only when Ghost nudged her lightly, did she see the flowing creek and her hope gained. Her ears pinned and she picked up her speed, across that creek could save them. Ghost reached the creek first, giving him a head start, when Chantal reached the creek she jumped instantly. Landing in the water she slowed her pace, the instant she hit the water she was safe.
She carried herself onto the bank, her legs throbbing and her body soaked from nose to tail. Her head lowered and a sigh escaped her, she looked at Ghost while he looked across the creek at the disappointed wolves, he spoke after eying them, "This way. I know somewhere we can go."
Without hesitation she followed him, a slight limp in her walk. Only because her legs ached. When they reached the cave, they both looked at it. It only seemed big enough for one..her eyes flicked over to him with concern. He risked his life to help her, and now he is giving up shelter for her? Where all stallions like this? Sweet and caring? She looked at him for a moment, standing in the rain, in her french tones she spoke toward him for the first time with sympathy, " I'm sure you could fit at least, half of you in there...I wouldn't mind some company" , hopefully he didn't look at it the wrong way.
She walked over to the cave and gently lay her aching body down, she then motioned her head to the empty space beside her.. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[bg=000000][atrb=width,500,true][atrb=border,0,true]Ghost sighed as she spoke, offering some space. Her body was curled on the dry ground, obviously aching from the sudden rush of movement they'd just gone through. Ghost let out a breath before moving his lean build under the protection of the cave with the mare. He would still stand guard, but at least his head would be dry. The stallion stood very close, slightly over top the mare with the from of his body under the protection and the rest out in the rain. This was how the two equines fell asleep.
---
The light blue eyes of the Andalusian stallion flickered open as the light from the outside world peered through the surrounding trees. The stud had managed to keep himself and the fae he'd been with safe through the night. Thinking that, Ghost looked down at the mare that stood almost directly below his hooves. Softly, he moved himself out of the cave and into a spot of sun, warming his body happily in the new day. Ghost looked around with lazy eyes before dropping his head to begin to nibble at the small amount of grass that had been growing here in the patch of sun. What a glorious breakfast. Ghost turned to notice the femme slowly waking up. He nickered to her and shook his mane proudly, as if he was pleased that she was his, though .. she wasn't.
"Morning Chantal."

Chantal opened her eyes to see Ghost grazing not to far from the small cave. He turned toward her, and instantly he said, "Morning Chantal". For the first time since they met, she gave a friendly smile toward him. Her feelings toward stallions changed ever so dramatically last night. At least toward Ghost, not all stallions where the same. She may be friendlier toward him, but she still was not fond of flirting stallions, if he flirts there is no telling what she would do.
"Bonjour, Ghost" She stood up, her body only aching a little. At least is was better than last night. She walked over to Ghost as he grazed and she too lowered her head to nibble at the blades below them.

[bg=000000][atrb=width,500,true][atrb=border,0,true]The stallion was grateful for the smile she gave him. He hadn't seen her express something friendly since he met her, so it was a nice change. Maybe she was warming up to him. As the fae lowered her head to nibble at the grass, the stallion spoke. "Is it just the lighting, or do you always get prettier and prettier each day?"The stud was proud of the words he'd just spoken. He hoped she'd appreciate the fact that he thought she was gorgeous. She truly was. Granted, he was more into the light colored horses, but she was very very pretty, so she could easily be an exception. ooc; ohmygod this is horridly short, but he flirted

Chantal raised her head, her ears perked, and she noticed that the words he just spoke was a sign of flirting. Going from perked, her ears pointed behind back and she lowered her head a little while giving a hateful glare, so he wasn't different? The same kinda stallion that would try to convince the mare that he was alright and then break out the flirt that all brutes had. With a flick of her long black tail she spoke in her low hateful french accent,
"Did you just...flirt?" Her golden caramel eyes looked at him, her ears stayed back, and her tail would give an irritated flick every so often. Maybe she was too harsh, maybe she wasn't? Not being educated in how stallions where she never gave a liking to flirting stallions, thought it was a sign of a desperate brute, only looking for a brood mare and then after she bared his offspring he would jump to the next. It was ridiculous to do that to us mares, we deserve so much better.
Chantal wished for a stallion that was hers and hers only, or for her to be his and 'only' his. A stallion that would give her cute little comments when she woke up in the mornings, yes, Ghost did that, but she is still unsure of him. Unsure of what he wants.

[bg=000000][atrb=width,500,true][atrb=border,0,true]The stallion was slightly shocked at the way she spoke. The words seethed from her maw like venom as she questioned if he'd just flirted with her. As far as Ghost remembered, making comments such as the one he'd just sang was in fact flirting. Sometimes he wondered if this fae was ever around stallions. She sure didn't seem to understand them all that well. Maybe she just hadn't been around them a lot recently. That was something he could understand.
"Y-yes I did just flirt."
The off white stud spoke carefully when answering her question, stuttering a bit in the process. Just like the night before, he could sense the tension the mare held inside her. It was almost as if her muscles were tearing at the tenseness, it was THAT tense. Ghost took a small step back and eyes her, slightly concerned about what was to come.

Chantal was confused and angry, "Oh, Ghost, he is just looking for a mare...At least I think..?", thoughts ran through her head as she debated on what Ghost was wanting? Was he just some other stallion just looking at courting any mare in sight? Or was is flirt just a small compliment he thought would make her feel better? Her tail flicked to the right, gently hitting her side as she continued to look at Ghost in silence...
When she finally spoke her voice was a little harsh and her golden eyes didn't leave Ghost as she stood tensed, "I think you should leave..."
She literally had no idea what she was doing, she was confused. Confused, angry, and french mares should not be messed with, at least, not her. She felt like kicking something...and it was either a tree or Ghost..
Maybe she needed time to think?

Ghost didn't know why she chose to react the way she did. Had something happened in her past that made her hate for stallions and their ways so strong? Sometimes he feared her, but now he respected her. He didn't want to leave, and wouldn't without questioning, but he wasn't going to overdo his stay. "Femora, why is it that this upsets you?" Being confused wasn't something Ghost enjoyed much. He just simply didn't get it. What mare didn't want attention from a lead stallion such as himself. What mare would choose to live a solitary life over having a family. Chantal surely was a confusing equine in Ghosts eyes, but she was the type he was willing to work and wait for. She was unique in many ways and he liked that about her.
Ghost stopped a hind foot, his tail swishing in slight agitation at the femoras sudden discomfort. Yes, he liked her, but this bull shit was starting to get annoying.

Vestallia stood tense, her golden eyes laying upon him with anger in a confused manner. Her tail flicked lightly as she lowered her head to the ground, she had given in after his question. No stallion, like Ghost, would have stayed after she confused him so... Her ears flicked back and she spoke after him,
" When I was.." she paused a moment, the conversation brought back...some...sad moments... " when I was little, I was born without a father, my...mother" the word brought a bit of pain deep in her chest, but she continued, " she never brought me around..stallions. So you could say I grew up with only my mother..." her head turned to the side, refusing eye contact with him as she decided to end the conversation.
She only said one more thing, "I..am sorry Ghost.."
