MISTY
Misty pranced around happy realizing she had marked the halfway point of her journey. She had dreamed of this place, and let her heart take her to this place. She didn't realize how hungry she was. She then said to herself "This grass isn't going to eat itself". When she tasted this grass she was blown away with its rich flavor. "This is the best grass I have ever tasted in my life!" As she munched away she started to dream about her parents (which are not alive anymore). She tried to push away those memories with something better. But it still didn't work. They were all just coming back to her. "I don't know what is going on. Is there something wrong with me?" She thought. Every time she stopped eating they would stop. She said to herself "I need a distraction!"

Triskelion, Boy, was she loud. On his tail was the memory of that cursed meadow, and another mare. The one was also pretty cursed. Different from that Gin, who he thought about more and more, but just as insane. How he longed for company! Maybe, it would be worth leaving, returning to his home in the mountains with his family. If they remained. He hadn’t heard howls for a year now. Still, that seemed like a silly idea. Hadn’t he been driven out? It’d be no small miracle dragging himself back and crying for acceptance. Probably he’d just lose an ear, or a jaw, or maybe a large section of his throat. His father was like that. No nonsense.
As he stalked this new one, though, all by her lonesome, he was struck by how much she looked like Gypsum. At first he’d even thought it was the stallion, she was short enough. When Gypsum was closer though, when the wind blew favourably towards him and he could smell her, he realized this was someone else. Also, the brown spots were a bit of a giveaway.
Then there was all this talking. What kind of an animal spoke to himself? Was that not a bit unhinged? Triskelion shivered as he walked. All these creatures must be mad. And where was Gertrude? It had been awhile since he’d gnawed at her hooves. Shouldn’t she be here, defending the proverbial herd? A small growl crawled out of his throat like a frog. Gertrude would screw everything up. Should have thrown it in with that big fellow in the Forests.
He turned his attention back to the mare after a frantic glance around. Really, he wasn’t supposed to bother the horses of the fields, as a general rule. But what with no one around, and this girl being so darn loud, what was the harm. Maybe he wouldn’t harass so much as communicate, make friends, you know.
Like in the meadow, the grass provided just the protection he needed to sneak up on the paint mare, although he suspected she’d hear him long before he could take a bite of her. That might actually be to his advantage, he thought. Best that she feel safe, here in the fields.
“I need a distraction!” she cried.
“Perhaps I can offer you one,” the wolf said behind her.
[/blockquote] Ooc: I think L’amour was going to reply, but your last line was too perfect not to invade also. Triskelion is a wolf, since there’s been some confusion. (:

Misty was all wrapped up in herself, that she didn't even hear someone say something to her."Oh, oh my!" She yelped, realizing what she was seeing."I think I will be okay. Um...I don't need a distraction anymore thanks for the offer" she said a little nervously. Her nostrils flared taking in the unusual scent of another animal. "I hope I didn't bother you. I mean I swear, I am going a little crazy, but crazy is always good…I guess. I could always get used to it.” Misty munched nervously stepping a little further back than normal. A gust of wind blew the wolf’s smell right into Misty’s flaring nostrils. She sneezed, and just kept eating, trying to ignore the fact this creature could jump up at any moment and eat her. Misty wanted to leave, but she didn’t want the wolf to follow her. Misty lied and said “I think my mother is looking for me I better get going!” Misty always hated lying so she turned her head quickly, so the animal wouldn’t suspect guilt.

Triskelion, Laughter rolled from his throat, deep, rich as Triskelion watched the mare become more and more flustered. Although she continued to eat- perhaps, he thought, to calm herself- the wolf took note of her movement, of her change in position. Better to be walking away, then fighting. If she ran, probably she could escape, with the meadow so open and easy to navigate.
“Oh no, don’t worry. You’re all crazy to me,” he said slowly as he eyed her with bemusement. When she dipped her head to eat, he shuffled a whisker closer. She seemed not notice. He noted the comment about her mother, taking breathes of the air in as he did. He tried to remember who he’d seen on his journey here. It had been a short one. After the old mare, which may have been this girl’s mother, there hadn’t been anyone.
“If your mother is looking for you, then by all means, you should go. But I don’t think she is.” He paused, stalking towards her, his tongue sliding over his teeth. “No, I think you are all alone, little horse. Aren’t you?”

“Alright you caught me, I’m alone.” Misty felt a little angry. “Listen wolf, I am alone whopdie do! My parents are both dead now. If you hurt me…then” Misty really had no plan. She just hoped the wolf wouldn’t hurt her or she would be in trouble. Misty was getting uneasy and wanted to leave and quickly. “I am sorry but I have to go. I really do. Would you stop breathing on me, your in my personal space.” Misty started to wish she could run home and see her parents. But as of her mom and dad not being there, she would have to do it herself. “I am sorry but I must get going, it’s going to get dark soon and I must be home.” Misty was still hungry and knew it wasn’t going to get dark for a long while. She wanted to keep eating but at the same time she wanted and needed to leave. Memories kept coming. She didn’t like this at all, she even began to sob very quietly looking away so the wolf wouldn’t see her sobbing. She thought to herself “What if this I thing eats me, no one will hear my cries! Not one single thing. I am really scared” She thought. She hoped she looked tough, even though she was scared to death.

Triskelion, Triskelion was held by her anger and shocked, momentarily unable to move. Not, at the fact she was angry, who wouldn’t get a bit touchy with a wolf harassing them? That the anger didn’t seem directed at him, however, was odd. Wide eyed, he said, “So distrustful! I am not going to hurt you, silly horse! At least, not at the moment.” He noted the breathing comment and stepped back, his ears drooping, annoyed that it bothered him. “Oh, dear, my apologies,” the wolf drawled.
She was really quite agitated by now, which wasn’t unusual. Fear of this sort could turn quickly to aggression, though, and she hid hers well. He didn’t much care for prey that could hide its emotions. Too difficult to judge.
Unfortunately, her lies weren’t quite as convincing. Dark? He looked at the sun and then back at the mare. Hardly likely. Still, her fear wasn’t as satisfying as he thought it would be. He wagged his tail in that way pups had, bubbling with enthusiasm. “Ah! Where is your home? I could escort you! Not safe to be out in the dark, don’t you know!”

“I honestly don’t think I need an escort. Thanks for the offer though. It was incredibly thoughtful.” Misty said, trying to cheer up. She saw the smirk on the wolf’s mouth and decided not to even bother leaving. She even gave up on not talking to the wolf. She said “Fine, we can be friends if that is what you really want.” She didn’t want to be killed or hurt so she let him get his ways. “There is one way we can be friends. It is you can’t eat me, hurt me, or do anything bad to me, understand?” She tried to make herself sound strict. She kept eating and pictured the wolf eating her. She shivered. She didn’t even want to think about that. It would be a horrible sight, for anyone to see. Misty began thirsty, very thirsty. “I am a bit thirsty, I need a drink.” She said. She wanted to go alone but knew that would never happen.

Triskelion, Gertrude, Was she genuinely thankful, or still trying to throw him off? Triskelion couldn’t read this animals, they really were just too bizarre. He trotted a bit further off, hoping to give her even more space. “That is acceptable, little horse. Do you have a name?”
Darn, she was skittish. Angry, or afraid, or reckless? He couldn’t peg this girl at all. While he mulled over her antsy, yet obviously controlled demeanour, Triskelion felt the fur on the back of his neck rise. When he took in a breath, a warm scent flowed into his mouth. Perhaps it was time to scarper. “There is a creek on the other side of those hills there,” he said, nodding in the general direction of the sun, where it was slowly sinking in the west. “There’s trees growing beside it. I won’t follow you, friend.”
But just as he was about to slip into the grass, a shadow suddenly reared up above him. He craned his head around, where a horse stood, not much bigger than the paint, although this one had dark fur. Her pale mane flew around an absolutely deranged face that was contorted with rage. He recognized her immediately.
“You’re on my land, wolf,” Gertrude snarled through gritted teeth.
Triskelion prostrated himself, tale between his legs, slowly backing away. “So I am. It seems I’ve found you someone,” the wolf said and he looked to the little mare on his right.
[/blockquote] Occ: Sorry that it’s a bit chaotic with bringing Gertrude in and all. :C

"Oh my gosh! Gertrude you saved my life. You are a hero. This wolf was going to eat me for lunch." She growled low in her throat at the wolf. She thought to herself"I am still thirst hello, can you escort me Gertrude. Please I would like to not be killed today." Misty was a little rude but she was never taught manners, so that wasn't all her fault. "Gertrude, do you want to be friends?" She said walking up closer to the horse. She took in the scent of the other horse that she was now next to. "Oh, I can't remember if I introduced myself, I am Misty!" She said happily looking around.

Triskelion, Gertrude, “This wolf was going to eat me for lunch,” said the mare, with a growl.
Triskelion barked, tail still between his legs. “I would never!” he cried, and the lead mares hooves flew out at him, sharp razors that could cut flash, crack bone. Yelping, the wolf recoiled into the grass. “Oh. Goodbye!” Then he was off, a dark streak soaring across the meadow, away into the distance. Gertrude sighed, shaking her head. She turned to the mare.
She was older than Gertrude, who was only just coming into adulthood herself, and ever so slightly taller, but Gertrude didn’t blame the mare for being fearful. Wasn’t she herself when the blasted animals nipped at her heals? She glared off into the distance at the wolf’s retreating form. She would have to speak to her mother about him, if he kept insisting on lurking around the Lush Fields. Really, Gertrude would be just as happy to break his skull in as anyone.
As the mare approached her, Gertrude nodded, a bit surprised that she knew her name. She smiled, thinking it to be a small victory. If other knew about the herd here, they might come. She pressed her muzzle against the stranger’s, and nodded.
“Yes, Misty. I would very much like to be friends,” she said quietly, but her voice was vibrant, alive and free from the anger of before. “You are thirsty? I could take you to the stream here, if you like? There are plenty. We can go elsewhere than the wolf suggested if it worries you. I could show you the Fields on the way.”
