Mneme [glow=beige,2,300]Try to remember me...[/glow]
Mneme looked at Buttercup, possitively exasperated from her questions. "I haven't a clue who Beutercup is." She said, getting his name terribly wrong. It didn't matter too much though seeing as she didn't know him and he wasn't around to hear her murder his name with her poorly motivated and distracted thought process. This wasn't like her at all. Luckily the lower altittude was slowly helping her clear her head. Which was still held high in prideful display. Her russet tail flicked against the child's side. It had seemed for forego finding it's mother in all effort just to stay with her, but she'd keep an eye on her. Foals spooked and did things that weren't always good for them. Mneme would be there to correct the problem and protect if need be. "If we don't find something soon we'll have to leave these lands." She mumbled softly to herself. Lots of water and grass meant two things. One, very well feed happy horses who's only problem was a bit of rain rot during the wet season. Two, predators. Wolves hid in the grasses, and now with a foal by her side Mneme couldn't afford to be so cocky. She didn't fear for herself, the wound on her foot was barely a scratch and she could still run faster and farther than any wolf... but the child could not. "Stay close." She said curtly, leaning over into a stream to get a much needed drink. Her face was at an odd angle, she didn't want the foal asking her an embarassing question like 'Why does your tongue stick out when you drink?' Even in a joking manor, Mneme didn't like to be made fun of. She took in large, heavy gulps of the cool stream and then placed her bruised heal inside the cool rush hoping to numb the pain and swelling. "No, not lots darling." She said softly, looking around for a stallion. In a way she almost seemed... warm for half of an inkling of a tiny quick momentary second but it passed. Her stone face came back on and she lifted her head, whinnying loudly. No echo here... but little response. The mare kept her head up, "Go and eat." She instructed. There was no ways she was dropping her guard, but as long as someone was looking out then the other could eat. Mneme watched, and waited for a stallion's call

“Oh,” she replied. She didn’t really try to correct her usage of his name because she didn’t want her to get more annoyed with her than she was already. She didn’t know what it was that she kept doing to annoy her but she was going to try her very best to not annoy her current babysitter. ”We’ll have to leave?” She asked glumly, not sure what exactly it meant but she felt like it was the appropriate emotion given the way she had reacted. She glanced up when she heard her curt words, moving to be even closer to Mneme so she didn’t get told off again. She watched her curiously when she drank at an odd angle before she reached down to have a drink herself. It was refreshing and she now realised how thirsty she had been. She hadn’t been consistently finding a drink when she was thirsty, not having had much of an idea where she could get a drink from, and now she was going to savour it. Mneme knew where to find water so it was probably best to stick by her. Maybe pick up some more survival skills and then slink off when she let her guard down. Buttercup hadn’t exactly been expecting so much warmth, if only for a split second, from Mneme and her little ears perked forward in curiosity. Before swivelling slightly to listen to a squirrel or some other small creature scamper through the trees. Then her attention was returned to Mneme and obeyed, heading off a few strides and nibbling on the grass. Her little fluff of a tail happily flopping around as she contently grazed. She had little worry about being eaten right now since Mneme was watching over her.

Galloping at a rapid speed through the dense forest, Lucifer snorted and thrashed his crown about,he moved from left to right dodging trees as he galloped. The grey steed came to a slow trot as he made his way to the edge of the Lush Field, it was a magnificent place, everything that he had been told about it was correct. Lucifer stepped forward and made his way into the field with his tail held high along with his muzzle which he lifted to the air to smell for any scents of nearby horses; he breathed in deep revealing a mare that wasn't too far away.
The brute shook himself to make sure he look presentable, as he trotted up and towards her, he hadn't been in contact with others for awhile and this was his chance to hopefully make a good appearance. He stopped and eyes the mare, she was indeed beautiful, Lucifer wasn't one to notice those kind of things but in this case he didn't - another reason he came to these parts was to find a mare, a mare to settle down with, foals? maybe if he was lucky enough to pass down his magnificent traits to his young.
Lucifer stopped in front of her and lowered his crown in a clam greeting "Hello, miss" he said sounding pretty pleased with himself.

Mneme [glow=beige,2,300]Try to remember me...[/glow]
Mneme craned her ears to the back. There was some one coming. Whether or not the horse was aware of her presence or not Mneme did not know. It was moving around. Her head lifted and she moved in front of the foal with a high head. Mneme's movement were graceful and soft. She was not a mare that would thunder about with heavy feet or silly notions. Ever since she was a filly she was taught to be proud and beautiful. Graceful as her mother had been and as powerful as her steed. Mneme was beauty in the form of power. With thick muscles that clung to a strong bone frame. There wasn't much delicate about Mneme but she wasn't manish in any way. Surely the russet mare was a different type of female all together.
Her legs floated across the ground with fairly silent and highly elevated strides. She closed the little distance between the brute and herself. Her honey eyes combing over him with a calculating and slightly unwelcoming stare. Not just any stallion was worth having a mare, she'd learned that the hard way with her last steed. "Hello stallion." She quickly glanced back in the direction of the filly she was traveling with. "Is there something I can do for you here?" She said quizically. Her tone was sweet and strong as it flowed from her lips.

Lucifer's audits twitched out of curiosity; why did the mare continue to look back behind her, was there someone else over there? he shook his crown and continued to make eye contact with her "No, I was just seeing if you were ok" he replied with a nod, as he shuffled on his hooves.
Lucifer wanted to go check it out, but he didn't know whether he should or not, maybe it could be a foal? and this mare might get over protective and make it difficult for him to explain himself, he shook his curiosity off and remained silent. Lucifer instinct made him want to stay here with her and keep her company, but if she ordered him to go away then he would keep his distance, but still watch over her and who ever else was with her, just to make sure she was safe.

Mneme [glow=beige,2,300]Try to remember me...[/glow]
Mneme turned her head and smiled ever so slightly. "If I was ok?" She paused slightly and snickered, "Well that is very noble of you fine steed." Her eyes roamed over the stud in a sly, flirtatious manor. Her tawny tail flicked gently against her sides as her nostrils flared, taking in the sent of the stallion. He seemed interesting enough. "Though I must assure you I am fine. I've been traveling on my own for quite a while now and can fair on my own for the most part." Slowly, with her head still tipped toward the heavens, she circled around the the stallion's shoulder. "I am in no need for protection all I lack is company." She said softly, it was true. Mneme would never admit said lonelyness but it really wore on her some times. She'd been looking for a stallion for months now and was tired to say the least. Perhaps it showed? Is that why he had approached her. The russet mare shook her long mane slightly. "Who are you stallion? And what brings you to these parts. "She snorted at that. "I've been here for months and caught hide nor hair of anyone. I was begining to think it may be essential that I moved on." She pinched her lips together firmly. She shouldn't have said that. She was blurting. The foal wasn't the best company and after so long it was hard to remember her manners. She wouldn't make the mistake again. She would not screw this up for them. Mneme needed a stallion if she ever hoped to have more foals. Eventually she would need a break from Buttercup if only for a couple of moments to get a drink of water. The company of another adult would make her more agreeable. A stallion could teach a foal things that a mare could not. No... she could not afford to mess this up or to take to him too quickly.

Lucifer nodded, he always liked to make sure that those he came across were fine before he moved on "I can see that clearly" he said with a nod and a silent chuckle as he watched her move around him, she was indeed a beautiful mare - he grunted slightly "ah, then we have something in common" he said as he swished his banner lightly against the breeze. Lucifer wanted company for the long trip, but where was he heading? that he did not know, he was just searching for something, anything maybe even land? to make a herd, but no; he wasn't willing to fight for land.
"I am Lucifer, and well the scent of sweet grass and the sight of a stunning mare" he said with a wink, he hoped it didn't sound sarcastic, because he was more than serious with what he said; "Yourself?" he asked curiously as he lowered his cranium and gazed up at her calmly. "Well you have now, does that give you a reason to stay?" he asked, with his mouth slightly open - what would he do if she left? he'd be alone for at least another 2 months, but he liked this mare, she had an attitude that he secretly adored.
