”Wonderful,” she replied though she had little interest in art. It didn’t have much use unless it was counting herself as a work of art. She was, after all, beautiful and wonderful and everything that was good in the world. She was vain and she wouldn’t lie about it. What was the point? She heard everyone tell her that, even the stallion she was currently... playing with she guessed. She wasn’t sure what this was other than a game. Everything was a game to her though she hadn’t quite worked out the rules for this one yet. Once she did then she would master this game with ease. ”At least you’re learning,” she pointed out though she wasn’t sure what it was she’d said that made him think that. She wasn’t going to ask either. ”I believe that that’s a hint you’re talking too much and you don’t even know what is it you want to say exactly,” she snorted in amusement, flicking her tail over her hocks slightly. And just when she’d thought he’d become someone she could easily talk to he made the innuendo and her expression became one of disgust. She supposed it was just the whole thing that it was springtime and all but she did not appreciate it all the same. ”Slimy with extra slime, I think you’ll find. That was incredibly gross and I’ll just bite you even harder and ignore your existence forever if you say anything like that again.” Her ears had returned to their previous position of being flat back. If he thought she would breed to him speaking to her like that then he had another thing coming. If he thought that she would breed to him at all then he had another thing coming anyway. The idea was instead thrust with great force further and further into the realms of impossibility. She was tempted to just leave him alone when he pressed his body against her before darting away. She didn’t know what force compelled her to follow him but she guessed that it would be the whole idea of a deep, profound curiosity about what he would do next. He seemed to be distracted by the leaves but she just watched him, taking note that as far as stallions went he wasn’t too bad in the looks department but that was as far as the thought went. She was too busy being molested by his stick, and she sidestepped very quickly away from him. ”Oh! Oh! I am going to get you for this!” She squealed as she tore after him, this was a game she understood. She stopped and went back for the stick before going after him. He’d no doubt end up with a few bruises.

[glow=blue,2,300]~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~[/glow][glow=white,2,300] Marriage is the tomb of love[/glow][glow=blue,2,300]~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~[/glow] Rhys tulted his head to look at Delilah closely. In all truth he probably should be listening to her words. Instead he was pondering useless things and staring at her blankly. "Oh...I'm sorry what were you saying about me talking too much." A devious thought came to his mind. If she wanted to play it like that he could play right along. "Because I try never to talk too much. Usually when I see people talking so much I'm like 'whaaaat?' it just is so annoying people are like telling you to be quiet but you just can't stop talking. I can't stand those people are we having fun yet?" He quipped obnoxiously.
He bolted around her, bucking and whinnying loudly. Ok perhaps she'd never mate with him. Other females would probably couple with him eventually. Did that mean that he couldn't get her to stay with him? To keep him company. He liked her quite the bit and perhaps, he could even break her resolve and gain her trust some day. He lept of the creek, not expection her to have grabbed his stick. He whinnied loudly and splashed water on her, pawing in the water. Begging her to come at him. Surely she'd end up hurting him a little, but it was all part of it. Yes he was sure that eventually she'd come to at least like him. Delilah stomped her hooves as she found out that he wasn’t even remotely listening to her. She would have to find some sort of way to make him listen to her, perhaps she could think up some sort of way to make him pay attention. She wasn’t about to go out on a limb to do it however, she wasn’t going to lower herself or become desperate for his attention but she truly did not appreciate him just ignoring her like that. She’d make him pay for it actually. ”You know, not very much of that made sense,” she told him. If she didn’t have his stick and the determination to hurt him with it or get him back because of everything he’d done before. He seemed like an interesting friend to have. It was the most that they’d ever be and he was determined. Despite holding the stick in her mouth, she whinnied to him in return and bucked a little as she was splashed. She pranced slightly before trotting back and forth in front of him, reaching out to poke his side with a stick and then darted back again. Whinnying loudly, liking this new game she ventured forward and prodded him a little harder with the stick. This was fantastically amusing!

[glow=blue,2,300]~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~[/glow][glow=white,2,300] Marriage is the tomb of love[/glow][glow=blue,2,300]~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~[/glow] Rhys snorted. The stick jabbed into his side a little roughly and he winced a bit. The mare played rough. He circled her once and grabbed the stick in his mouth, tugging on it playfully. She captivated his gaze but he didn't let it show in his smooth brown eyes. His hooves dug into the ground and his ebony mane shook along with his head. The leaves started to give way, sliding down and into his mouth, bunching in the corners. If he wasn't so focused on this "game" he was sure he'd have whinnied in amusement at his leaf filled mouth.
Out of the corner of his eye a russet mare could be seen, head high, trotting into the meadow as if she owned the place already. He let his attention turn to her but didn't let go. A tall lovely chestnut with long legs and a strong appearance. A lovely mare, but he didn't want her. Not now. Now he was totally engulfed in the task of the red filly. Hoping that perhaps if he bested her she would submit to him. However this new mare gave him an interesting idea.
The red clearly did not hide her vanity, even though she'd verbally denied it. He wondered if in fact it would bother her to not get all of the attention. He had to go about this tactfully...which was normally a skill of his, however Delilah seemed to throw him off of his wits constantly. First he let his attention clearly drift to the chestnut, who was clearly staring at the two like they had about 12 heads each. It must have been strange for her to see two horses fighting over a stick. Inch by inch he let go, so as not to fling her back then he dug his hoof into the dirt, trotting over to the other mare. His nose reached out to graze the new female's giving her a soft nicker, which she replied back with one of her own. Though she didn't speak just yet. "Hello there lovely." He said thickly, trying so hard not to look at Delilah to gage her reaction.
The mare snorted, "My name is Mneme." Clear disapproving judgment of him flashed in her eyes. He groaned, couldn't one of them just play along? "I'm Rhys. Stallion of the beach herd which is...not actually a herd as of yet." He nickered to her, she was in season too.
Mneme watched him with clear interest but not in the way one would suppose. A grand stallion, but was obviously enamored with the red mare behind him. He at least hid it well. His gaze was intense as he rounded her, nipping her flanks. Spewing compliments at her left and right. "What a nice color" "Your mane is gorgeous" "you gleam against the sun." Each compliment did little for her. She didn't need anyone to dote on her but she didn't deny him as he rounded behind to sniff her. She had a strong feeling he wasn't doing this for her and wouldn't even think about breeding her. His careful gaze was constantly flicking over to the other young mare. Delilah did not believe in lying, so she would not deny that she felt some amount of joy if only small when he winced. Rhys may have been the one to start this game but she was swiftly taking control of this game and changing the rules so that they worked in her favour. He was not allowed to play rough with her but she would be playing as roughly as she wanted to and there was nothing he could really do about it (in her view at least). It wasn’t about being sadistic and hurting him, not much anyway, but it was instead about taking control of what was happening. This stallion however always kept her on her toes and he all of a sudden seemed to be trying to take her stick from her. She knew it was playful and so she let him have a little leeway and tug the stick a little from her mouth before she tugged it right back. She planted her hooves firmly in the ground and continued to try and tug it from his mouth because it was her stick now. She did not at first notice the other mare before he trotted off and left her alone- how could he? How could he be so cruel to her? Giving her all of his attentions and working so hard for her to give him what he wanted and then leave for another chestnut mare! This was absolutely outrageous. She’d accept that the other chestnut mare was pretty but she didn’t have anything on her. She stamped her hoof angrily as he just upped and left her and she dropped the stick. She would not forgive him for this. He was playing the game she wanted to play with him with someone else. The normal reason she even communicated with stallions was so she could be told her mane was gorgeous, the blazing red of her chestnut coat was divine, she was the most beautiful mare they’d ever seen. Oh, she was so mad at him! But she suddenly subsided with her anger and instead decided to ignore him. He would not get a reaction from her which was obviously why he was doing this, she’d just caught him glancing at her twice now. It was just to make her jealous, right? That was all. While he was sniffing at the other mare’s behind, she headed off in the other direction. Her gaze now was the one flickering to him to see if he was looking at her and following her or if he’d settled for the second best mare.

[glow=blue,2,300]~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~[/glow][glow=white,2,300] Marriage is the tomb of love[/glow][glow=blue,2,300]~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~[/glow] Rhys groaned to himself. This mare was totally impossible! Ignoring HIM of all stallions. He'd seen the stallions around the grounds. They seemed so...beneathe him. He tossed his head and pawed at the new mare "Do you see that?! That dreadful mare over there?!" He yelled, making sure she heard. How could she do this to him? Wasn't he being patient? "She's insufferable! I've done everything and she's mean to me!" He grumbled like a love struck, rejected colt. He reared only to receive little response from the other chestnut.
He'd tried everything! Everything under the sun. There wasn't any thing the stallion could do more! Rhys felt a little deflated. Would she ever come around? How many more tricks could he play on her. One glance at Mneme by his side, totally glaring at him was even more of a bother. His temper flared again and he pinned his ebony ears to his head and whinnied so loud it was practically a roar. The chestnut at his side flicked her ears back. "Would you shut up! You about blasted my ears off. You're obviously very upset over your..."She decided to play along slightly "Plain mare over there. Though I can't see why."
At first Rhys was offended, did she not SEE Delilah? She was off her mind if she thought Delilah was plain. A pouting noise left him as he watched Mneme turn and mind her own business. Ears pinned down to his head he bounded after Delilah. How dare she ignore him so often! He slid to a stop behind her and bit and her flank, squealing loudly. "What on earth is wrong with you? Are you ill in the head?" He snipped, offense clearly written all over his face. Why was he sad all of the sudden? That was a new feeling that had never come with rejection previously in his life. Another squeal and a buck left him, cutting her off and running circles about her. To be honest he only did so because he didn't know what else to do and he needed to keep her in his sights. "How can some creature so lovely outwardly be so grotesquely cruel inwardly?" He asked allowed, though he wasn't talking to her, rather than himself. He reared, striking his front legs out looking rather cross, but more so distressed. Yes, stress was the perfect word. By now he seemed desperate that she stop trying so hard to dislike him. In fact she seemed to waste more emotional and physical energy fighting to dislike him rather than trying to be pleasant. He kept pushing, trying to direct the mare's motion, the more he moved the less tense he became, but he was still rather grouchy about the whole thing. Oh, she heard him yell. It didn’t help. First he left her for another less attractive mare and paid more attention to her and now he was calling her dreadful. Just to add the list of vain and hateful. Yet he still expected her to want to submit and breed with him. She didn’t understand it but then perhaps she couldn’t because their minds seemed to work in slightly different ways. He’d hit the nail on the head not too long ago either, she was a little fragile deep down. Not about not being attractive, she knew she was beautiful, but about the fact he so easily went off to try it with another mare. Not only that, he bit her flank. Really, where did this stallion learn his moves? She let out a shrill whinny before she reared up slightly. Then promptly kicked out at him with both hind hooves at the offending stallion. It had hurt- and she’d already set down in her mental set of rules that he wasn’t allowed to hurt her or play rough. She hadn’t thought that she’d actually need to spell out these rules for him but apparently she was wrong. He’d hurt her twice in a row now. Why did she even bother to keep interacting with him? She didn’t know, something just caused her to want to stay despite her better judgement. ”I could ask the same thing. Don’t you have another mare already waiting for you?” She asked coldly, whirling around now and baring her teeth at him as her ears drew flat back. ”So just leave me alone already. I have nothing more to say to you. I’m never going to like you so maybe you should stop wasting even more of your time. Okay?”

[glow=blue,2,300]~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~[/glow][glow=white,2,300] Marriage is the tomb of love[/glow][glow=blue,2,300]~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~[/glow] The blow knocked Rhys down a notch but he was still upset. His hoof struck the ground/ "So I'm not supposed to be offend you but you but it's perfectly fine for you to upset me?" He asked totally bewildered. He was now confused on top of upset. He looked back at the other mare and practically whinnied in laughter at her. He thought the better of it though. She already didn't seem pleased with him. "You lie!" He said, a hint of amusement drawling in his voice, "I know for a fact you aren't that stupid!" He backed up and pawed at the ground again looking back to where the chestnut mare was watching them. Her eyes seemed to laugh at the pair as she turned to walk away entirely.
"You know I did that to get your attention and not hers or you'd have been too darn stubborn to walk away!" He defended. Had he really upset her? Was it not FAIR though? He'd been taking blows to his pride since the sun was high in the sky and still even as it began to go down. Still it bothered him, he didn't want her upset. Even if she seemed to enjoy that pleasure from him. What could he do though? Apologize? Then she'd most certainly find him predictable and leave. He looked off over the hills, back toward his lands. He enjoyed them so much more than this place, even if they looked like nothing but ruin to other horses. Sure they weren't easy to make it in, but they were surely fun, and didn't have as many bugs as this meadow where waters were stiller for pests to breed.
He shook his thick coal colored mane, tossing it every which way on him. He needed to get his focus back on her. Even though he hated to admit it, he'd been...wrong. Eck he practically cringed at that word, the stallion hated more than anything to be wrong. He rounded the red mare, nickering lowly. Ok, so he'd suck up his pride. It would make him a little more venerable than he wanted to be and perhaps may drive her even further off...but it felt like the right thing to do. Even for him, that had been childish.
Rhys dropped his head low, snorting softly against the mare, he ears lulled out to the side in surrender. Hopefully she'd know he was sincerely sorry this way...though he doubted it would matter to this hellion of a mare. Not that he disliked that about her. Perhaps if they both grew up and matured a little the two would be powerful horses. It was doubtful that Rhys would ever be more mature than he was now though. A deep breath caught in his chest, trying to force those awful words out of his mouth. Had he ever even said them before? He thought back for a moment, no, no he'd not always been happy with the outcome but he most certainly was never ashamed of his actions enough to apologize. He wanted to stamp his hooves in the ground and yell this was all her fault in the first place, but he knew that wouldn't help in the slightest. He turned his lowered head away from her. "You have to be sure I only did that to get your further attention to make you..."What was the word? "Jealous." He rasped out. This was horrible. He was pretty sure if an equine could vomit, which they can't, that he would. He wasn't even to the worst part yet.
"But you just kept...doing that! And were so determined to dislike me it-" He stopped himself, he was a digging another 'it's all your fault hole. "Regardless, that was a childish decision of me." Why was he stalling? They were two words! Three syllables! His face contorted into what looked like a strained stance. "I'msorry" He blurted out. Barely even understandable from the sped at which he said it. Still beggars can't be choosers right? He grunted, because Delilah wasn't a beggar, and in this situation the only beggar around was him. He swallowed a knot in his throat, presumable his pride, and force himself to look her in the eyes. His head was still low and submissive. "I'm sorry Delilah." He said softly, kicking himself the whole damn time. "I did it for your attention...not with the intention to hurt your feelings"....'Just to make you mad a little[/i}' he thought afterwords. ”Ah, so now you understand the rules! At last. It’s about time. I was beginning to think that you were a little slow.” She told him with a snort. How could he not understand these rules? At least it seemed he did now anyway. Things either went her way or... never mind, everything went her way in the end. She did not however appreciate that he was whinnying with laughter at her. ”I do not lie!” She snapped, stamping her hoof angrily. She wanted to bite him again but she figured that biting him twice in one day was probably pushing it a little bit. ”Then maybe I just don’t want to talk to you anymore. You had my attention. So what the hell is wrong with you? Or are there too many things wrong with you?” She asked quite flatly. She didn’t want to do this. She didn’t want to stop it either. Hell, she didn’t know what she wanted to do. What was the right thing to do in these situations? She had no idea. She just... she guessed she’d have to see what he had to say and then work from there. She had to admit that she liked him a little better now that he was nickering at her. So he’d come round a little more to realise not only did the rules change to be that they worked in her favour but she was also never wrong. Her ears flickered forward a little, hesitating to be forward and completely alert due to her slight bad feelings about this but she didn’t exactly feel as bad as she had before. He was also more vulnerable and that was exactly where she liked him. Delilah snorted, resisting the temptation to reach out and show him some sort of affection to say that she’d forgiven him. Sort of. ”You want to make me jealous? I could have told you that that wouldn’t work. You seem to think cocky, handsome stallions are rare and I will surely miss out on an opportunity if I leave you alone to another mare. You’re a dime a dozen, I’ll have you know.” She told him with a snort of irritation. Why did everyone think they were so special? Only she was special. ”Of course it was a childish decision.” She was about to start a long-winded, condescending rant when she heard a blurt that sounded an awful lot like an apology. And he was swallowing his pride which left her even more confused. What was he doing? Why was he changing? She didn’t know what to think of him now. ”Well, I’m fine now... I guess.” She didn’t quite have the heart to keep being mean to him now that he’d apologised but she wasn’t sure whether accepting his apology and verbalising it would lead them back down the road they’d started on. ”I guess I might possibly accept your apology,” she said dismissively before she tended to an itch on her leg as if she hadn’t possibly done anything nice or at least somewhat kind.

[glow=red,2,300]Rhys[/glow] [glow=blue,2,300]~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~[/glow][glow=white,2,300] Marriage is the tomb of love[/glow][glow=blue,2,300]~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~[/glow] Rhys most certainly heard everything that she'd said but some how he got caught on, 'handsome stallion'. He couldn't argue with her there. He was totally gorgeous. His eye roamed down to the stream and looked at his reflection briefly...oh yes. He was amazing. No arguing that point...now what was she saying? He reminded himself to focus.
His hoof stomped a fly away and he turned slightly, the wind was getting a little less pleasant than he liked. Who was he kidding? He hated the wind. Period. His eyes traveled back over his shoulder to her as a gust shook his think mane, he pinned his ears so the wind couldn't whistle inside of them. For the moment he just watched her, not as creepy or intensely as the first time, but with a soft expression. She'd accepted his apology! Oh she would deny it but in some twisted backwards way he had a nagging suspicion that she sort of liked him...a little. He gave a large yawn. He wanted to sleep soon. The mare had worn him out, still he didn't let on about it. His eyes rolled as he closed his mouth from the yawn. "Thank you." He said softly.
In the back of his mind all he could think is, I hope I never have to do such an awful thing again but that would ruin the moment he supposed. Next he shook his entire body in attempt to keep himself...lively. Dust and fur flew. Still he was tired. He walked into the middle of the stream and laid down entirely on his side, if his head wasn't propped up on a rock he surely would have drown. However his head was on the rock, and over half of his body submerged in the cool of the spring. He loved the water and was a strong swimmer. Perhaps that's why he'd made the beaches his home. The strong wave and sent put him at ease. "If you aren't planning on getting a stallion, moving on with your life, having children possibly, what do you want to do? Stay alone? Or do you belong to a herd you're reluctant to leave?" Why did he never shut up? Part of him just wanted to know, another part hoped he could convince her that following him back home and becoming his mare was a good choice for her. OK so him mostly, but he was sure she'd enjoy it too! He sat up, literally in the water. It wasn't a stance most horses usually took, and probably looked rather odd but he was far too lazy to get all of the way up. Still he looked rather awkward braced against his legs , digging his fore feet in the mud.
"You know...if you came back with me, we could bother each other forever. Wouldn't that be...." Fun wasn't the word, "Interesting?" He said, trying to innocently coax her. "I was only joshing you about that other mare. I'd never do anything to hurt you. I'm a slimy cocky, and according to you handsome thanks for that, jerk but I wouldn't let anything happen to the members of my herd. Besides...what is there around this lazy old meadow? The other day, I saw a fish as big as my tail! OK not my tail but still it was huge! All this place has is wolves and snakes...which are both deadly might I comment." He jested, trying to lighten her mood and joke about. She shook her head slightly when a fly tried to settle on her delicate and dialled face, snorting heavily. She watched him as he watched her, not sure where she was going to go from here but when had she ever been certain? She was out on her own now, she had to learn to deal with these little wild cards like the stallion in front of her that could be thrown at her. There was no-one else out there to look after her. She wasn’t sure where these thoughts had come from but they were going to have to be pushed aside for now. She could think about them again when she was alone. Delilah watched him yawn, forcing herself not to yawn as well though she was really just as tired. Exhausted. All of this playing she’d managed to do with this stallion and she was proud to say that she hadn’t given in. She never would. Well, she wasn’t sure about never, ever giving in and breeding but not in the near future. She was only just an adult herself and she wanted some time to play around before she was burdened with the responsibility of a foal. She took a step or two back when he shook his body, trying to avoid all of the dust that had managed to blow into her face. She sneezed before shaking her head further to get rid of all the stupid dust. At least it hadn’t gotten into her airways and made her cough, she had to be grateful for the little things in life. Rhys was certainly an odd one. She followed him cautiously as he laid down in the stream. Which was just so... weird. ”What on earth are you doing? You strange, deranged creature.” She said, looking at him in confusion as he laid there. ”I’m not sure what exactly I’m going to do yet. I figure I’ll just make it up as I go along and see where that takes me,” she told him quite simply. ”I guess that I will stay alone then, until I make up my mind what I’m going to do at least.” He was getting stranger and stranger and she couldn’t say that she was exactly sure what she was going to do about this. Delilah wasn’t so sure ignoring his strange behaviour was exactly the correct behaviour for this. ”Bother each other forever? Well, I guess I could stay for a little while at the most but I will not be staying there forever. If I even bother to stay at all- what is there for me?” She asked, flicking her tail over her hind legs to dispel the flies resting there. ”You say you’d never do anything but I’d be a fool to trust you just because you told me to. And the way you’re constantly changing your behaviour makes me think it would always be like that. I’m not sure I could want that.” She told him, not about to let him know she’d join without making him sweat a little first and tell her good reasons for her to really join with him.

[glow=red,2,300]Rhys[/glow] [glow=blue,2,300]~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~[/glow][glow=white,2,300] Marriage is the tomb of love[/glow][glow=blue,2,300]~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~[/glow] Rhys nickered to her, his eyes closed as the cool of the stream crashed against his back. The white frothing sweat that his legs had been lathered in was washed away down the stream and the heat that radiated from his muscles was slowly cooling. Water had to be the most magnificent thing on this planet. "I'm not in any ways deranged. I'm simply enjoying one of life's joys. He stood and spun in a small circle, literally dunking his entire head over the water. The current pushed against his fur, swirling it around his face. When he did lift up his head his forelock was wet, heavy and flung to all different parts of his face. "You should try it. It's nice, especially when you're hot." He wanted to add a 'like me' to the end of that statement but he didn't think she'd appreciate that.
His heavy hooves sunk into the thick brown mire, making a squishing sound as he stepped from the creek. It was still bulging from the recent melt of the snow, and was quite strong to pull himself out of. His heavy wet tail literally hurt as he flicked it against his side, he made a mental note never to do that again. "As to what's in it for you...I guess that's for you to decide. I can give you food, shelter, protection, even love if you'd allow it. I can easily give you a foal if you please...but I can only give what you will take." He said keeping a strong eye contact with her. A few months was usually all he wanted out of a mare. In fact, he'd been with some no longer than it took to breed. Perhaps by the time she was tired of him he would tire of her too? Why did he suddenly doubt that? The realization was annoying that this was one of the few mares that totally fascinated him and he supposed he'd allow her to call the shots if that's what it took to keep her about. That didn't mean he'd be happy about it though! He wasn't a creature that enjoyed being pushed around, and she'd gotten away with hurting him quite a few times today simply because he didn't want to harm her back. In retro spect, he was now quite pleased that he nipped her, it demonstrated that he had a limit, and that if he wanted it, his mouth could be much more powerful and do more damage. Not that he thought it would ever come to that. Delilah was stubborn, but an all out attack was unlikely.
The next point she made had him reeling. He had no reason for her at all to trust him. At times the stud barely trusted himself...and he was a liar. A fairly accomplished, sneaky one too. Did Delilah really need to know that though? He decided for now, no she didn't. He would try and get her to trust him, and if she did not he would be at a stale mate. "To be honest," That was his first lie, but not knowing him very well, she wouldn't have had a clue, "I do change my behavior a lot. It helps me cope with my life and it keeps things interesting...but that doesn't make me irrational. It most certainly doesn't make me untrust worthy. When I say I'll do something, I never lie." He was truly terrible. In all fairness he would TRY to stick to that...but promises were never his strong point. He was a stallion that was easily bored and not so easily entertained. He shook his head again. "I can promise you that no matter what I can try and protect you to my death." Now that was one promise he'd never let a mare down. He always protected them if they wanted it. He'd never really needed to protect them against other horses, but he had gone after a few wolves to protect his offspring...only to keep the mare happy of course. He hated foals. He loved making them, and he loved them being alive and carrying on his lines, but he hated foals. His attention drifted back to Delilah, what ever she chose, she had to know he'd never stop pestering her. ”You are in many ways deranged Rhys, and if you think any differently then that just shows how deranged you are. She told him, snorting in amusement. Putting him down seemed to be one of her new favourite games and she knew exactly how to play it. Her rules- of course. What else could one expect from her? Delilah knew what she wanted and she knew how to get it. This had become exactly the game she wanted to play, or at least some variant of it. No doubt she would eventually grow bored of it but for now? Things were looking perfectly interesting. ”I think that I’ll pass up on lying in the stream like a creep if it’s all the same.” She told him, flicking her tail over her hocks as she waited for him to hurry up and get out of there already. Which he soon enough did so. ”I’m sure you could give me love but I doubt that it would last for an entirely long time. A couple of months maybe. I don’t want a foal. Now or ever.” She told him. She hoped he knew that as well. He could breed with whoever he wanted- that was a lie, if he wanted her then he could only have her. He wouldn’t be able to breed with her but that was just the way it would be. Maybe in time, but not for a long time. She listened to him speak but decided she wasn’t all that interested all the same, he would change and that would keep him entertained. That would just mean that she would have to keep her heart tucked away so that she didn’t get hurt. There was something that drew her to him but she knew it was because he was just ever-changing, always bringing her something new and interesting to play with. Since he was so ever-changing he would eventually change to some other mare.

[glow=red,2,300]Rhys[/glow] [glow=blue,2,300]~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~[/glow][glow=white,2,300] Marriage is the tomb of love[/glow][glow=blue,2,300]~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~[/glow] Rhys stared at her, feeling an air of coldness. His ears flattened at her comment but he ignored it, since she needed so much attention he figured it was best to not let her get the best of him. "You know...there is such a difference between breeding and love." He was getting tired, he could feel it, because he was being honest...and he was never this calm about being honest. He had to pick through his honesty and his lies so as not to mess up. Right now, he could care less, he was tired and felt a little worn from her constant fight against him. "Just take a chance. At the very worst I murder you and leave you for the birds, and while powerful, I doubt that I could even do such a thing. To be honest. This nags on my patience. It it getting late, and I need to get back to my lands. You can either join my herd or not. If not...I will search you out." He grunted as he walked towards the edge of the feild. "I am annoyingly persistant aren't I?" He hoped she'd follow him there was just something about her. He practically needed her to follow him, but he had to get out of this meadow. He wanted to sleep next to the sound of the ocean [glow=blue,2,300]~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~[/glow][glow=white,2,300] The same principle which forbids me to lie does not allow me to tell the truth.[/glow][glow=blue,2,300]~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~[/glow]

”Oh, I’m aware that there is a difference but how many other people are? It’s safer to assume that others don’t. That you don’t.” She told him. She could feel that she’d irritated him in some manner but it couldn’t be helped, it wasn’t her fault. She was tired too and all she wanted was just to sleep, she couldn’t really go home because she had none. Well, she had the possibility of one looking straight at her. she could have a home with him if she could stand him for so long. If not she would merely have to make her way in life once again alone. ”Oh, what a wonderful thought to put into my head. Now that you’ve told me you’d possibly murder me if I went with you.” She told him sarcastically though she followed after him all the same. If he said a word about it she’d probably leave but for the moment she was happy enough to follow him. She wasn’t sure why, maybe she just needed a place to stay for a little while. ”So tell me about this land of yours.” She said calmly.
