Cheveyo stood quietly for a moment,peering through the trees into an open meadow. His nostrils flared slightly as he took in a breath filled with different scents and fragrances but none were odd or out of the ordinary.
Dipping his head a little bit he urged himself forward,his ears swiveling around and listening for any sounds of danger while his blue eyes scanned the open meadow for any predators or other horses. He hoped to see at least one horse,even if it was only for a moment. -Sniffing the grass a little and lifting his head for one last check around the meadow,he nipped at the grass and began to graze on the lush mix of clover and timothy.
Swishing his tail at a few flies on his sides,he kept his ears on alert as he munched contently,only hearing the sound of trees rustling and the sea of tall meadow grass bend in the gentle breeze.

Ship still lingered in the meadow, having nowhere else to go. Of course, she had contemplated going back to the humans a few times. It was a lot less stressful for her there, without jumping at every tiny sound for fear of a predator. But nothing had bothered her since she arrived here, so she was feeling more at ease of late. She busied herself with observing the silly behavior of the rabbits, watching them dance around each other every morning and every evening. However this particular morning, Ship smelled an unfamiliar scent wafting on the breeze as she came out from behind a set of bushes. She froze on the spot, and her relaxed ears now stood upright. From this vantage point she spotted the newcomer. He was a dapple gray, just like her, though his mane and tail were also gray. She couldn't see his eyes at the moment as his head was down. He seemed to be grazing at the plentiful amount of grass. Ship wasn't sure if he noticed her yet or not. She tried to remain still and soundless, but she was feeling very uncomfortable as she was still swollen with milk, and had no foal to nurse. She wasn't sure if she wanted to go unnoticed or not--she was rather lonely--but she was apprehensive. What were his intentions here? Did he own this land? Did he come to drive her away? She shifted uncomfortably, inadvertently placing a hoof on a twig. It snapped under her weight with a loud crack.

Hearing a twig crack behind him,Cheveyo's ears went on alerd as he jumped forward a stride or two before coming to a hault and looking around first infront of him,and then turning arouns as his bright blue eyes gazed aroundor a moment or two before stopping on a lone , dapple gray mare that was standing behind a set of bushes. Breathing in a slightly tense breath,Cheveyo glanced around. Was she part of a herd? Or was she a loner like he was?
After observing her cautiously for atleast a minute or two his ears finally relaxed and he allowed one to go up curiously as he lowered his head a little. "I'm sorry-is this landyours...?" He asked pretty sure it wasn't by the way she too looked just as nervous as he was-his legs still tight and ready to whip him into a different direction if they had to.

Ship whinnied in surprise at the sound she had made, but it seemed she had startled the stallion even more. He galloped a few strides away before looking around and spotting her standing there, the sunlight illuminating the copper tones in her mane. She snorted and tossed her head a bit, amused slightly that he was scared of her. She was still a bit wary of approaching him however, as she still was not sure why he was here. Perhaps he was just hungry. Nevertheless, since he wasn't barreling toward her now, she relaxed her ears again. It was silent , other than the twittering of birds and the swish of grass in the breeze. Ship swished her tail at the pesky flies, and flicked an ear every so often. Eventually the stallion spoke, asking if the land belonged to her. “No, I thought it belonged to you,” she replied. Having now established that his intentions were not to drive her away, she sized him up. He seemed like a sturdy stallion, but being on his own suggested that either he could not win any mares, or that there were simply not enough horses around. Either way, she was better off keeping company with him than being all alone. On one hoof, she had hoped that he had a herd, maybe with a motherless foal who needed milk. But on the other hoof, she was glad that he didn't have one. Surely he wouldn't welcome her otherwise. She wasn't yet ready to breed again. She let out a sigh, thinking of the foal she had lost. She really didn't have much to offer to a stallion at the moment, she realized. But if he were as lonely as she was, then... “My name is Ship,” she offered. Now that she thought about it, she had no idea what that even meant. Her full name was Fog, Ship's Bane, but no one had ever called her that. She walked smoothly toward him but slow enough that he could back away from her if he didn't want her near him. She blew a soft breath towards him, hoping to be friends.

Breathing in the gentle breathShip had sent to him, he allowed both ears to go up in a friendly manner. Sending back a soft breath in reply- half glad to be making a new friend already, and half glad she wasn't a stallion wanting to drive him off the land like countless times before. Watching her approach, he could tell she had just reciently had a foal by the way she moved slower..unless she was just cautious and by how..round her belly was. Studying her for a momet as the sun highlited her copper tones if her mane and tail he toook a slight step forward. He felt the tall grass brushing lightly against he sturdy legs, the warm sun shining against his dapple gray coat and illumenation the blue in both eyes. His coat letting his eyes stand out like bright jewls and his eyes dong the same for his coat that was laied neatly over tight chest muscles and flexed shoulders. He shifted his weight around a little, his long forelock covering one eyes slightly and giving him a 'giant foal' apperance "I'm Cheveyo-nice to meet you" He said trying to be kind despite the fight-or-flight feeling his was trying to get rid of the more he got to know the new and curious looking mare before him.

Cheveyo, the stallion said his name was, his lovely blue eyes standing out starkly against his coat. Well at least his name didn't seem to make any more sense than “Ship” did, and he didn't seem to mind what she called herself. Ship was pleased that he also blew his breath at her. So pleased in fact, that she pranced a circle around him, snorting excitedly. She settled quickly though as her energy levels weren't what they used to be. “So,” she said, her brown eyes veiled by her gray eyelashes. “Have you been anywhere else yet?” She was anxious to know what the land was like here, where she might possibly be able to live. But in her condition she hadn't felt up to exploring. She was feeling better every day though, enough to accompany the stallion to wherever he might go. But would he want her along? Ship wasn't sure yet. He seemed nice enough so far, despite being without a herd. “I'm new here myself,” she volunteered, hoping he wouldn't ask too much about her past. She lowered her head and snatched a mouthful of grass while she waited for his reply. Had he already noticed that she'd recently foaled? What if he questioned her about it? What should she say? Should she make up some epic story about how she fought wolves, but still lost the foal? No, she had no injuries to show for it. But surely, if she told him the truth, he would think she were a failure of a mare. Still, he hadn't asked yet. She told herself to ride this out as long as possible.

Cheveyo turned his head around him as he watched the mare happily prance about him before settlion. His earsflashing upward and remaining there seeing how pleased she was to be friends. He too wanted to prance around with her,more relieved than anything to have a companion to travel with...if she wish to come along with him. Not wanting to over do anything by acting a little to crazy or anything, he refrained from joining her in prancing and nickered instead.Listening to her speak,her brown eyes seemed to be finely outlined by her gray eyelashes. He dipped his head slightly "No, I have not been far from here.-I was hoping to find my brothers..but I believe tht hope is lost" HE snorted slightly showing a small ammount of dissapointment in them but brushed it aside. "Do you know any of the lands here?" He questioned, figuring tht's why she asked but just being curious

“Your brothers?” Ship repeated. “Were you in a bachelor herd with them?” Ship had heard of such things before, but had never known anyone who was actually part of one. She was not too sure of how things worked in the wild. She couldn't remember if mares led the stallions, or if it was the other way around. But it didn't seem like Cheveyo knew this place any better than she did. “Well, I don't really know this place. I had to escape a fire, and I don't really know how I ended up here to be honest,” she admitted sheepishly. “I just stumbled onto this place and hoped I'd meet someone. But you're the only one I've seen so far.” She stomped her hoof and lowered her head slightly. She wanted to tell him that she didn't know how things worked out here in the wild. Did he escape captivity too? But if she asked him and he were wild, then he'd probably find out she wasn't. And then what would he think? A domesticated mare. There was something dirty about that term, in her mind anyway. “We could explore together, if you like,” she suggested quietly with a nicker. “I need to find a home.” Her ears shot up again. “Um, that is, if you want to come along!” How presumptuous of her to think he had nothing to do better with his time.

He tossed his head slightly giving a soft chuckle. "Not a bachelor herd. Just traveling together until...some incidents came up" He smiled a little as his mane bounced off his strong neck before settling down again as his ears flickered forward at the mention of a fire. "Forrest fire?" HE asked curiously as his blue eyes blinked for a moment before returning to hers as he listened intently. He nodded in agreement to her suggestion of exploring together. "That sounds good to me.-Traveling alone is getting a little too quiet for my taste" He nickered back-his nosstrils flaring slightly and then returning to normal as a cool breeze whispered past the two of them-pushing Cheveyo's forelock out of the way of his eyes so he coudl see better. Also so Ship could see his face clearly with out his lone locks on the way. "I haven't found a great 'home' area yet but I've managed to find some cover during the night" He offered turning his head behind him as his neck flexed a little at his movements, looking towards a nicely covered area shaded with tall pine trees and bedded down with soft,slightly damp leaves. Perfect for night and the tall meadow grass acted like a nice cover as well.

{OOC: There doesn't seem to be an official map of the land, so I just searched for one in old threads and came across this one that a member drew i456.photobucket.com/albums/qq290/1234567-040/NSE.jpg Just in case you'd like to know what I'm referring to. Also I'm not good at time flow, so let me know if the day is flowing too fast for you. I don't really know what I'm doing there, lol.} Ship observed Cheveyo as a breeze lifted his forelock out of the way of his face. He was a very nice looking horse, she decided, and was pleased that he didn't turn her away. She was accustomed to being looked down upon as she had been a total flop on the track. It was a bit ironic really that the champion of the farm had chosen her for a mate, for all the good it did. As she continued to look at Cheveyo, she determined that he probably would have had the mares back at the farm all swooning over him. He looked strong and sturdy. The afternoon sun glistened off his dapple coat and his blue eyes seemed to possess their own glow. They were much different than her brown eyes. Most horses she had come across had the same color as her, so she didn't think they were anything special. “Have you ever had a mare before, Cheveyo?” she asked very softly, her eyes half closing, gray lashes casting shadows on her face. She was just curious. It didn't seem possible that he could have been alone all this time. But here he was, alone. How did it come to be? Then, realizing her boldness, she quickly looked away to where Cheveyo referred to as cover for the night. If she could blush, she would be. She walked forward to have a better look, hoping he would disregard or hadn't heard her query. Her nostrils flared, taking in the smell of pine. It was a nice spot nestled beneath a couple of trees. Ship jumped back slightly as a pine cone fell, nearly missing her shoulder and landed next to her hoof. It sank into the leaves. Obviously they would be well cushioned here. She idly kicked the pine cone out of the way. “This looks cozy! Okay well maybe we could check out the beach and then return here for the night,” she suggested, her sepia eyes drawn toward the ocean. She couldn't see or hear it yet, but there was a slight tang of salt hanging in the air, so she knew it was nearby. “It'll be easiest to find our way back from there I think. Unless you'd prefer to go to the forest?”

( OOC: Wow that's a cool picture! lol ok I will, but it seems to be going fine with me hah let me know if you wante to slow down or speed up or anything-Oh! hah and sorry about any bad spelling errors. My keyboard is dying and I have to press some of the letters kinda hard xP..or i just spell it wrong compleatly lol)
He looked at her for a moment when she asked if he had ever had a mare. He pondered the question in his mind coming to the conclusion that he hadn't ever had a mare...or found one that he really cared for in any way. Most of the mares he had met were either taken, had a foal,or had zero tolerance for a wandering stallion such as himself. His left ear turned back slightly,hesitant to reply but he did anyways- pivoting on his front legs and moving his hind quarters arouns to face the area she was looking at. His lips formed what he wanted to say, but he suddenly stopped, not ready to really tell her that kind of .'personal' information about himself. "It's not bad, soft,but it's nicely covered" He said nipping his side and fending off a horsefly for a moment. He loved how her eyes were always so curious-almost like she had never even seen another horse before. He nodded "the beach sounds fine. I prefer the beach over anything" He smiled holding his head up a little as his tail flicked around his side and then to the other side.

“Really?” Ship said, swinging her head around to look at the stallion as he flicked his gray tail from side to side. She shook her mane and bounded in the direction of the beach. “All right, the beach it is!” she neighed, her tail raised in excitement. She had never been to a beach before. It was nice to feel the wind rushing past her ears. She wanted to break out into a canter but did not think she should, otherwise she would be exhausted by the time they got to the beach. A few times she would come across a puddle and recklessly splashed through it. Birds who had been scrounging for insects flew away from her thunderous hooves, and she fought the urge to increase speed and give them chase. She paused and watched them become smaller and smaller in the brilliant blue sky. She looked over at Cheveyo with her brown, sparkling eyes, wondering if he were enjoying himself as much as she was. She wondered what his plans were for the future, but she would wait until they reached the beach to ask. For now she simply enjoyed the journey there.
{OOC: Moving this under the Beach! Posted the rest under "Playing at the Beach."}
