W... Where am i? Espirit's lids fluttered open, coughing out the disgusting sea water that lay churning in her full stomach. Her talons were buried deep in the sand. She looked ahead. Her auds pricked, forward. Listening to the humming of the bees, cawing of the birds. She gained confidence and got up. She took a few steps, as if they were the first steps she had ever took. Her palomino body was covered with light sand. She shook heavily. She was lost, scared. Was there anybody here?

A soft nicker came from behind the Palomino mare. A mare with cream-colored tassels and banner and a gray dappled pelt stood on strong columns behind her. Though tough in appearance, this fae held her crown low like a youngling, and timidity was in her dark brown friendly eyes. She snorted and took a couple steps back, fore daggers stepping on the sand anxiously. Who was this? Another she didn't know... there had been quite a few seeking to join, or rejoin the island paradise lately, something that made her scared. She was afraid she would get left behind and forgotten, like some bug crawling on the ground. That was exactly how tall she felt, though she stood over sixteen hands.
Another soft nicker came from her vocals as she looked at the vix curiously, silently asking a name. Why was it always her that ran into these other timid mares? She didn't necessarily feel comfortable talking to anyone, except the lord of the island, and couldn't necessarily keep them company until the ebony stallion came to test them. If anything, she would bore them. Perhaps it was the cosmos' way of trying to break her out of her shell? She didn't know...
Optics glanced toward the foliage of the island, looking for the mighty lead to break the silence yet again. There was talk that he had found a Queen for the island, and this made Wynne happy. Maybe then Aurora wouldn't hate her as much. Or perhaps the fiery-tempered mare had found someone else to pick on? She doubted both ideas. The passion of Aurora's dislike for her had been proved from the time she arrived there, and she was sure that nothing as simple as another horse she disliked more would take her skeptical eye from Wynne. Still, one could hope...
Imprints were left in the sand as Wynne continued to walk slowly backward from the new one. Her dial still held low, her daggers still continued moving from nervousness. Slowly, her muscles eased and her cranium came to full height. Her front right talon picked up, and dared to move closer, but eventually was put back in the same place as before. She nickered curiously again, nodding and asking again for a name, wishing that this mare would talk to break the awkward silence.

Espirit felt the warmth from the mare's body they were so near. This mare looked... well not welcoming. The silver mare stood there not saying anything. Mute perhaps? Espirit doubted that very much. She hated this awkward silence. She needed to break it...
I'm, erm Espirit. Where am I? She said quietly. Her talons, sinking into the sand she had to keep pulling them out. Her orbs had panic in them. She was scared. She wanted Dusk to be with her, or her mother. This mare seemed nice enough but she was mute. Espirit's tail flicked through the air threatening flies to go buzz someone else. She stamped her over, orbs glaring into the silver mare's.
The ocean lapped against her dainty black hooves, making them tingle. She laughed then gazed at the mare and shut herself up. Walking around her in circles, hoping not to intimadate her. She then stopped and spoke. Well?

Wynne nodded at Espirit and she gave her name, and shook her dial nervously. It was a nice name, Espirit. It had a quiet intensity to it. Her warm, dark brown optics gazed into the fae's panicked ones, silently trying to calm and comfort her. Her orbs smiled brightly and she nickered gently. The mare need not be afraid of her or of the island, for the kindest and gentlest King resided there, taking care of their every need.
As the fae looked her over, she remained silent and motionless, much like a statue. At Espirit's laugh, her creamy banner flicked and she nickered softly, as if laughing with her. Her pools still held a comforting warmth in them, no longer as frightened or startled as they had once been. As the palomino mare spoke again, she looked to the foliage again, gesturing toward the middle of the island. If Espirit wished to dwell here, she would have to wait for Windago's okay. It was not Wynne's place to accept newcomers.
Honestly, the fae had spunk. Much more than she ever had, even as a youngling. Perhaps she could find a place to stay here, perhaps she could pass Aurora's trial. She doubted Aurora would ever really open her heart to a newcomer, but perhaps they could co-exist peacefully. But only time would tell. Perhaps Espirit would be driven away by Aurora, Wynne honestly wondered why she herself hadn't been. It didn't matter now, this was her home for now and forever.

Wynne. Such a beautiful name Espirit looked up and smiled at the mare. She had changed her mind about her, when she smiled it made her look so beautiful and kind. Though she seemed quiet. Who is the lead of these lands?I would like to ask him some questions she said quietly, looking about her orbs glazed when the sun shone through them. Her talons were burning she dipped them in the water which cooled them down instantly.
Espirit began to walk backwards until she was all in the water. She thumped down, rolling to cool her down. 10 seconds after she stood and shook. How long have you lived in the lands? Espirit asked the secretive mare. The island was so beautiful, coconuts on trees. Tropical fruit and so much lush grass. She was so hungry and thirsty. The sea water was so salty she couldn't bare to take another sip. He mouth began to open and close as if she were eating.
Her flaxen tail lay limp against her hooves. Her mane limped onto her soaking wet neck. How could these horses survive in such heat? Well the lands were truly amazing and wonderful, she did not want to go back to the mainland. The journey was scary and she often passed out.

Wynne snorted, the equivalence shrugging, and continued watching the new fae with kind eyes. Her name was just a name, there was nothing very special about it. Names did not prove your worth or tell anything about you, they were just there to make you a little more different than the other beings around you. It was just a label, a title, nothing that important.
"Windago." She replied, her soft, rarely used lyrics were hardly above a whisper. As the fae cooled herself in the water, she couldn't help but laugh softly, though barely audible to those around her. It was more of an inward laugh. She turned her dial away as the mare shook the water from her pelt, spraying salty water droplets every and speckling her already dappled plush. Funny, this mare was, as in the interesting funny. How the palomino fae could be so trusting of someone she barely met was beyond what Wynne could comprehend. Then again, wasn't it the same when she was first brought to these lands?
Wynne shook her cranium again, some creamy tassels falling before her dark brown eyes. She hadn't thought about how long she had been there. It seemed like such a short time, now that she thought about it, though she lived as if she had been there forever. Such a curious spirit this fae was. Pretty soon she would be asking what her parents names were, or something else just as personal. Alas, it was good to have a questioning mind, though, for it meant you would never be taken advantage of.
For a second, Wynne almost stopped wishing that someone would come. She didn't mind keeping this mare company, for so far there hadn't been a dull moment. But, when the second was gone, she began wishing for the lead to come again. Her eyes became timid again, and she glanced constantly toward the middle of the island to see if the mighty ebony lord of the land was coming. She listened with auds standing high on her head for the beat of his talons against the terra.

The palomino fae swished her tail wonderously. So Windago was the name of the great lead stallion? He sounded handsome, heroic but tough. Hopefully he wasn't too tough. She thought about his features. She could picture a handsome tall bay, with four white points and a white star. Dark legs with a dark velvet. He had a beautiful but strong lead with big character.
Windago she repeated softly, looking up at Wynne she smiled. Her feelings seemed funny. She would have a peaceful look about her and then she'd look nervous. Espirit was sick on standing she wanted to find the lead. Would you be able to call on the lead? I know i should but i get so nervous and i'd end up attracting someone i shouldn't... she looked at Wynne nervously, wandering what she would say.
A pretty grey Wynne was. Espirit loved them, the coat was so smooth and so many types, dappled, silver, flea bitten. Nasty name though a beautiful touch. She lay down staring at the coconuts wishing they'd fall so she could taste some the the creamy milk inside of them. Her brother Dusk had tried it and always tempted her with his mind for one. He could be evil like that but he was a great brother and she loved him.

Wynne nickered and shook her head. She did not know where Windago was, actually. The gray dappled mare was never one to question those in authority over her. She was not the type to constantly keep track of them. For they had their business to attend to, and their business was their own. For Windago it was the same. She didn't follow him around trying to keep track of him. It would be too hard and she would probably be annoying to him.
Her dark brown eyes caught where Espirit was looking. The coconuts. They were high up in the tree, but looking at them for a while Wynne decided to try to get one down for the mare. After all, the fae did look hungry. Hoping Windago and his new Queen wouldn't mind, Wynne made her way over to one of the trees and rammed her large frame into it. It shivered from her weight, and the coconuts swayed threateningly. Nickering with frustration, she body slammed it a second time, finally sending a single coconut to the sand with a thud.
She lowered her maw, and rolled to coconut to the fae. With a snort to keep the sand from her nostrils, she raised her head and optics connected with the fae's, their warmth smiling yet again. With a soft nicker, she backed up a couple of steps and waited for her reaction. Her dial turned when she thought she heard a sound, but finding nothing she looked at Espirit again, kindness in her dark brown orbs.
If Aurora saw what she was doing, she would probably be in for another line of insults and curses. Perhaps she might even be attacked. But her kind nature would not let a fellow equine go hungry. But the fiery-tempered mare would not care, to her Wynne was just a foul cockroach to be stepped on, and she thought Wynne's kindness was false. Well, at least that's what the Percheron had gathered from their meetings. Still, this fae looked lost and alone, and the situation reached to her heart.

There was a wild scream that echoed over the shores and the two mares that stood almost too quietly on his lands. Almost like a horse stepping on a twig, it broke the silence quickly. There was the thudding of hooves upon the sands, and the great brute stood upon a hill. He wasn't prancing about, no, he was fighting with something. Jumping straight up into the air with his front limbs stuck together he screamed a warning and slammed his talons upon the turf. There was an angry growl and a panter jumped up at his throat.
With a neigh, he reared to the side and raced down the hill towards the mares, not on purpose, no. He didn't know that anyone was there. When he saw that he was leading a deadly creature to them, he stopped with all of his long black tassels flying over his thick skull. Turning around with smooth actions, his long limbs stretched out. He lowered his huge bod to the ground, and stamped one feathered talon out at the panther.
Once it had saw it's prey had stopped, it begain to circle, growling hungrily. Windago followed, circling it back. His huge bodice moved with certainty. His long tassels sweeping over his chest and back. With a scream, the cat jumped, right as he reared. With a thump, the cat fell dead, and Windago nosed it. He made sure it was dead, before shaking himself free of the fresh killing. He didn't like killing things.
Shaking his large skull, he trotted swiftly to the mares. Nudging Wynne softly on the cheek in greeting, he smiled warmly to her. He missed her, and loved to see her whenever he could. He stood taller then both of them, and he had a load of hair that swept to his chest. A forelock covered one of his beautiful brown orbs that held love, trust, and gentlness in them. He was pure black and was of Friesian breeding. A true knight.
Sweeping his large boa around, he brought his skull to the new mare's height. Eyeing her for a second, the old, wise knight bowed to the ground to her.
"M' Lady. Sorry for my entrance, but it was the last of them. My isle is now completely free of danger."
He said in a bold voice not quite his own. With a chuckle, he took back his words.
"Hey. I'm Windago. You can call me Teddy Bear if you like. You?"
There we go, more like you big boy. Laughing, he straighten his huge bod up, his long tassels sweeping. Flicking his long tail that swept the floor over his shining onyx hide, he twitched his muscles to rid himself of the flies. Pawing at the sand with a feather talon, he stood for a while. Looking a Wynne, he smiled warmly again. It was so nice to see her! He hoped she would stay and keep him company.

For a moment, Espirit though Wynne was about to leave her, though when she walked over to the coconuts, Espirit had an idea of what would happen. The coconut flew through the air and was nudged towards her talons. Espirit accepted it, her hazel eyes looking up at Wynne and bowing as if to thank her. She slammed her hoof onto it twice breaking the shell, she dipped her maw and began to drink, Dusk was right, it was so refreshing yet sour but she loved the taste. She beckoned Wynne to have some so she could taste how good it was. Suprisingly it was cool even though it hung in hot weather.
Hearing the ebony fresian entering she knew this was the leader. He was handsome, strong, bold just like a leader should be and she fell shy. She had never been in presence to such a magnificent stallion before. She was born after her great dark father died and from what she was told he was evil and should stay clear of his kind. Windago. Such a honourable name. All the horses here it seemed had beautiful names. Wynne, Windago. She was just little ole' Espirit. Not important she was nothing.
She wasn't sure what to say, though whatever she did say she knew it would come out silly. She bowed, shivering nervously then looked up into his bold eyes. I... I'm... Es.. Espirit she said slowly and stammering. She didn't want him to think she usally stammered. She flicked her tail into her legs. She smiled her warm and loving smile. Hoping that would make up for words.

Hearing Windago's coming, Wynne looked to the island to see his ebony form coming. But he was in a rush, what was wrong? Was he being chased. She watched with timid eyes as the panther came, and the lord of the island fought it with precision and bravery. After it was dead, she nickered to him joyfully, sharing in his victory. Her warm eyes welcomed him brightly.
"M'lord." She replied gently as he greeted her, kindness and friendship in her lyrics. Looking at Espirit she smiled comfortingly, reassuring her silently that all will be well. As she stood there, listening to Espirit timidly reply, she remembered when Windago first found her and brought her to these lands. It was a good day, full of adventure and hope. She would always remember her first moment on these lands.
She nodded kindly to the fae. There wasn't anything she should be afraid of, as Windago said, he was a Teddy Bear, kind and gentle with all his mares, as far as Wynne had seen.

Espirit smiled. Even though Wynne admitted Windago was a teddy bear she did believe but was still a little scared. She didn't know if she should move or stay put so she walked a little closer to Wynne. She obviosuly looked scared and young but since Wynne was the first mare she met on the island and the kindest she felt safer being with her. Well Espirit was young but perhaps older than Wynne? She hoped not then she really would look strange.
It was so quiet she wanted to speak but her mouth would not open. Her auds pricked and her orbs looked apon Windago's. He seemed so nice though she guessed he'd never accept a quiet little mare like she was. This herd was different from the rest she had seen. Tropical. In other herds mares basically walked in and found a home. Though here you had to be accepted. Every so often Espirit heard little whinnies coming far off. Some sounded polite, others not so. She wandered how many horses live here and was desperate to look around.
She could picture it all being amazing. Grass where horse ate together and caught up. A waterfall where they washed and a place where they slept. Of course she doubted that it would be like that very much. Her brother always told her that she had a great but useless imagination. That reminded her. He said he'd meet her somewhere and he had been gone hours. Perhaps he had wondered into these lands and was waiting. There was only one way to find out.
She opened her mouth finally and prepared to talk to the great Windago. She had much respect for leads especially this one. Though when opening her mouth nothing came out. She felt silly. She tried twice more and gave up. Before she knew it she started talking once more. 'Great Windago she said trying to adress him formerly so perhaps he would like her in a friendly manner. Is my brother Dusk here? He is a golden sorrel with a beauiful flaxen mane. An arabian breed he is. With perhaps a cross breed in him. soon after she felt stupid and shut up.
