Changing legend into fact
We shall ride into history
Turning myth into truth
We shall surely gaze
We shall ride into history
Turning myth into truth
We shall surely gaze
The poor stallion feared his own changing, and so, he took another step back, in order to leave a distance between himself and the mare should his anger lash out and claw at her. He lowered his head momentarily, shaking it softly - or at least, softly to the eye, but within his mind each shake was strong, an attempt to clear his mind.
When he met her gaze again, it was clear to see that he was fighting a private battle within; his eyes gave as much away. Deep, and chesnut in colour, they truely were the windows to his soul, windows that he couldn't draw the curtains to. His ears flung themselves back as she spoke again, pinning themselves to his head as he looked yet more confused. "No.." he mumured to himself gently, a voice laden with too many emotions to name.
He cleared his throat, speaking quietly, and looking to the side. His words were lies and so he did not dare meet the sweet mare's gaze as he spoke them. "We have only just met.. you don't know me. And I don't know you." The words tasted like poison on his tongue - liar, you, bastard - liar! He tossed his head in a second of madness before returning to a perfectly still bodice.
He did know her. Something inside him told the brave stallion that he knew her.. and he, like she, could not explain it. But it was there that the differences between the two horses became apparent - she had the eyes of a dreamer, and she was not afraid to tell him her wonders, but he.. he was reserved, he locked things away. He would not break out into cries of sweet nothings, hoping she would provide all the answers. She could barely even talk yet.
With an out-breath, he managed to look at her again - calmer, now, as the emotions that fueled his outbursts returned to swimming quietly in the depths of his mind. He hoped his next words would be a remedy for the poison he had let drip from his tongue. "I don't know you.. but I can get to know you."
On the sweet unfolding
Of an antique mystery
All will be revealed
On the trail we blaze
