Several days I have spent here, and things are only becoming worse. The fire has receded, thankfully, but this rain continues. There is high ground, but all of this soil is constantly being moved by the water. And goodness, why is it so humid? Winter is here, isn't it? The spotted mare walked gingerly up the slope of the mountain, trying ever so carefully to avoid slipping. Fallen and burnt trees lay askew, awaiting to be washed down the mountain side as well. She shook her damp forelock away from her eyes and took a good look around. This was becoming useless... I can't stay here much longer... A distressed snort left her thins as she found the corpse of a decaying deer lying under a fallen tree. How awful... and disturbing it is to imagine how many creatures died in this terrible event... well, I'm sure there will be more than this deer lying around. She thought to herself as she began her descent. Twins lay perched against her crania as she worked down the mountain. The rain blurred her vision very much... only making things worse. Was Night Sky Equines coming to an end? "Where to go..." The mare said aloud, not caring if she was heard now. Without warning, a loud bird flew up from underneath her and, very alarmed, she jumped to the left, her hoof slipping upon an angled rock. The mare didn't have time to regain her balance and her bulk slid down the mountain's harsh side. Sharp rocks and fallen branches scraped at her body painfully as she went down. With her best efforts Amarantine tried stopping herself, but there was no firm hold. Suddenly, she hit something hard. Her wild eyes looked to see that a large log had stopped her from sliding any further. Grateful, she nickered softly and tried almost in vain to stand back up. The left portion of her body, the side she had slid down on, was bruised and slightly bloody, but nothing totally serious. That same bird was now flying off towards the shores... I mustn't let minor things like that scare me. That was just too close. A tiny roll of thunder danced across the sky, ringing in her ears. Amarantine once again continued her way down the mountain's slope... this time watching very closely at where she was going...
It wasn't long until she set foot on flat land. The amount of soil and foliage at the bottom was quite incredible... there were puddles almost everywhere she stepped. With a sigh, the appaloosa sauntered off, favoring her left leg. I wish good luck to whoever else is up there...
[Anyone is welcome to jump in... I'm just bored...]

((yay...another bored person! ^^))
Puppet skirted around the carnage of the fire, hoping Outlaw had come out of it okay. She'd not seen him...lifting her banner she looked to the sky, wondering how it could look so peaceful after this fiery disaster. The slight rustle of disturbed underbrush alerted her of the appaloosa's presence. She cocked her head, seeing the other's limp. "Are you alright? Have you been hurt?" Puppet heard herself asking as she slowly stepped up. She did not know the other mare, but this was no surprise as she hardly knew any of the other herd members yet. Just Outlaw and those other two.. "I...I'm Puppet. Hi." Her lips formed a tentative smile as she introduced herself, feeling pride that she had.

Towers flicked back as she heard the other's vocals and turned her bulk around. Hm? Veil hung limp against her neck as she raised it. The appaloosa mare looked like she just scrambled out of a battle with a mountain lion. Oh well... didn't matter anyways... "Oh, good day to you. I am Amarantine." She stepped forward, hiding the limp and walking as if nothing was wrong. This mare's no idiot. My side sticks out like a white rose among red ones. She probably even saw me slide down the mountain... "Some discord we've had with nature, huh?" She chuckled lightly and gave a courteous nod. "I don't believe I've ever seen you before. Are you of Freedom Moon's herd?" She asked, giving her banner a curious swish. If this mare does belong to the Rocky Mountains, then she must be tough. Takes a lot to escape a disaster such as a fire... oh, great, now I'm practically bragging... and why do I have these little inner conversations with myself anyways? I am definitely losing it... Amarantine waited patiently for an answer.

A discord, indeed. A horrible one. She wondered who had managed to anger the gods enough to send this hellfire after them... "Yes, I just joined this herd...I have Nameless Outlaw to thank for that." Puppet felt her heat smiling as she spoke his name, but also a touch of worry. He'd better have escaped the enraged heat of the fire. What if he was trapped somewhere, or...? He is fine, Puppet stubornly assured herself, He's far more aquainted with these mountains than myself, and here I stand, unharmed, so therefore, he is fine. Perfectly sound. She tittered to herself, fwapping her tail against her legs, scolding for just about forgetting Amarantine. "So..are you of this herd? Like I mentioned I've just arrived..." Embarrassed, she lowered her head, hoping that the apaloosa was not, so she would not have that feeling of newness that she hated for not knowing things that all of the others knew.. Ah, Puppet, Puppet, you've really got to work on feeling so underneath everyone... I can't go around always bowing my head. It makes me look like a frightened toddler...

The Appaloosa let a slight smile cross her muzzle. "Please, lift your head. You're too beautiful to have it so low to the ground." She waited a few more moments before continuing. "I'm of the same herd as you, only I've been here a little longer. But don't worry; being a new member or an old one doesn't matter. It's how devoted and affable you are to your fellow members." She stretched her nape forward and gently touched the mare's cheek, blowing softly through her thins. "So, have you seen any of the others around? I know a few are in the desert, unless they have returned... but so far you're the only one I've seen in the mountains." Her auds flicked back at the sound of distant thunder. She sighed in despair. Please, no more rain. This is becoming far too bizarre...

Puppet's head obeyed and snapped up in surprise. Beautiful? Her? Stammering from the comment, she replied, "Oh...any others? No...I haven't...just a few brave birds and chipmunks and such, scurrying about in the undergrowth..." Her heart thudded at the touch of Amarantine's muzzle against her own, and resisted the urge to let forth a sneeze as a pesky gnat buzzed around her nose. Keeping her mind off the aggravating insect, Puppet averted her large chocolate eyes to the cloudy, darkening sky. She could feel the dampness in the air, sticking to her pelt. "It smells like it's going to dump on us again..." she murmured, not knowing what else to say, and hating the silence that was falling over them. "Should we find somewhere to shelter?"

"I do think that would be wise..." She answered, looking back up to the mountain. Maybe there is a safe haven somewhere in the mountains. It can't all be recked...perhaps there is shelter on the rockier, less foliated side of the mountain. Her limbs pushed off the ground and she trotted up the way she came down. The mare looked back at Puppet, and gestured for her to follow. They had to find somewhere soon...

Freedom Moon walked over towards the two mares with a small smile on his face. He looked at first Puppet and nuzzled her neck " It is good to see you agian Puppet." He then looked at the new mare and nuzzled her neck in a friendly gesture. " I am named Freedom Moon it is nice to meet a new face around here what is your name?" He asked with another smile on his face while awaiting the mare's answer.

She looked at him peculiarly. "Don't you remember me, Freedom? I believe we, somewhat met, some time ago. Hmm, ah well... I'm Amarantine." She touched his neck in return, blowing her warm breath onto his skin. "Do you know where the others are, Freedom? Puppet has been the only one I've seen on the mountain since the fire..." Her eyes managed to drift back to the mountains.

Puppet was releived to see that the lead had survived the disaster. A good thing...she imagined the mountain would be quite distraught for a while, though she could not be sure, having not belonged to a herd before, and even more so frantic after this fire. She appraoched Freedom Moon. "Um, have you any idea if Outlaw...? Do you know where he is? Have you seen him?" Have you seen him at all? Alive or...or dead? that was what Puppet's mind was bursting, battering itself against her skull. But she could not let herself think he was dead. They'd hardly met...it couldn't be over so quickly.

Freedom first looked at Amarantine " Sorry it's just that after first the fire then the flood it has been kind of hard to remember names." He then looked over at Puppet and shook his head in a no. " I'm sorry Puppet but I have not seen him. You two are the only ones in this herd besides Munchie,Tomahawk, and my little brother that I have seen after all of this mess." He said while then looking around for any signs for the rest of the herd. He just hoped that they had all gotten out okay.

"Oh dear... where are they right now?" She asked, worry dancing in her tones. Lightning cracked above her and she whinnied in fright, supressing her instinct to run. Really, I need to calm down... everything is fine... She gave an apologetic look to them and looked away sheepishly. She was normally so calm... Hmm... Puppet looked slightly concerned, but she didn't think it was about the disasters. Something else was probably bothering her. I wonder where Tomahawk went after I left... could he still be in the desert or the mountains?

Freedom saw her reaction towards the lightning and gave her a reassuring smile " Tomahawk I think is still in the dessert and the rest are here in the mountains." He said while then looking over at Puppet " Outlaw will be fine Puppet he knows how to take care of himself." He said while then looking at both of them and saying " We can go on up the cliffs to find shelter before the rain gets worse then it is now." He said while then walking up a narrow path up the cliffs.

She looked up to where the lightning had struck. Not that far away from where they stood now. She shivered, and then turned to climb up, figuring that the lead would know a safer place. Puppet looked at the other mare, hoping that she would be coming with them. Amarantine was kind to her. Puppet hoped she would always be safe. About Outlaw too, she wished this. He'd better be finding a dry place too... Maybe we'll find him?

Freedom could hear the sounds of one of them following behind him. He looked up ahead of him as he began to search out a cave he had seen earlier before the fire and the flood had even happened. Finally after afew minutes he spotted the cave and began to walk up towards it hopping the other two could make it up here. When he got to the top of the climb he looked down at the other two to make sure they were okay.
