Jinx Luck, Is What You Make Of It... Jinx thundered over the solid ground, after his time on the beach of The Island the solid ground, not constantly shifting under foot, was refreshing. His red-bay hide shone in the sun, though a cold chill came on the breeze. A sign that winter was almost here. Jinx slowed to a walk, his soars hurt from the salt in the water when he had swam back to the main land. He had lost the battle for the Island so the reining bloodlines had stayed the same, though his opponent had been a year younger than himself, but Jinx had a lot to learn. As he let out a loud snort, he gazed around him, the land was picturesque, but it wasn't a land that could be claimed. What a shame. Jinx thought to himself. As he stood there he wondered what had become of his brother Fell. All Jinx remembered about his black-stained brother was that his personality was ever changing, but his will to live and rule was always the same. Fell had never been able to follow others, even when they were foals. Fell had always been the most dominant foal out of the bunch, but Jinx had not followed willingly as some of the others, he had constantly fought with his brother on the matter. But Jinx knew that wasn't the reason why Fell had left the herd without even a single challenge to-wards their fathers rights. Jinx, however, had stayed and faced his father, and lost bitterly, for he had been somewhat of a wimp. He had started with an angry neigh, rearing up and showing off, like a fool. All his sire had to do was shove him over and that was it. Jinx had turned and run, his fathers words ringing in his ears; If you wish to be a ruler, smarten up. Or you might as well follow. To some those words would not seam harsh, but Jinx had been messing up all his life, and the criticism had been too much. Now Jinx stood alone on a hill, his wounds healing, but hurting bitterly, his eyes were still flaming with anger, though the fight had been over for maybe 3-5 days. Jinx had stayed on the island for a while, hiding near the water, waiting for himself to heal, but he figured it wasn't safe to stay, so he began his way back to the main land. With his zinniths slightly pricked to the approach of anyone, or anything, he stood there, but he soon grew board and lowered himself to the ground, rolling in the moist grasses below him. He groaned, and rocketed back up, he was ever alert, though a lot of the time he didn't need to. Jinx lowered him head to the ground and grabbed up some of the grass, his orbs scanning the area around him, zinniths swiveling, picking up the sound of the trees limbs rubbing against each-other, the birds chirping, the wind blowing across the terrain. ...Not What It Makes Of You

This was only another animal that Teheki had been watching. It seemed almost as if in the late autumn she had been stalking any creature that decided to venture here as well. As if it were actually here domain. This time however the animal happened to be a stallion. He was a great beast, although barely taller than herself, a much brighter colour and far less monotone. To her eyes however the male was not something to behold, he did not enthral nor interest her in any particular manner, she only felt inclined with curiosity to follow him as she had followed the last mare she saw. The only small difference was the erratic and even angry behaviour that seemed to plague the stallion. Every so often he would make a strange noise, and he even jumped, kicking at the air. This amused Teheki quite thoroughly; quietly breathing in the cool air from her stance, far enough away not to be heard easily, close enough to watch, she picked up her feet to stir up the sand and follow further. She stumbled in it now and again though, not used to the softer ground, but quickly picked her feet up again. For some time than, she began to ignore him and instead focus on her own ability to walk, or disability, and with little observation could pick up the consistency and match her steps to it. The time the grey coated mare looked up again she had noticed he’d disappeared but her eyes soon spotted the boy up atop a hill. She mused for a moment over his age and followed him up expecting to be seen immediately. As she came closer she was unfortunately disconcerted, he seemed quite distressed, perhaps even dangerous. “You alright?” she shouted, eyeing him like she found some kind of alien. OOC; Not sure how long this will last, I kind of killed it.

Jinx Luck Is What You Make Of It... Jinx's head shot up in surprise at the sound of another's voice, his orbs searched the area around him, and rested on the form of a femmora standing not too far off. With his zinniths slightly pricked he wondered how long she had been standing there. Jinx had heard no-one around when he had come to the area, but the appearance of this one had greatly surprised him. Yes, I'm fine He replied questioningly, wondering why she needed to ask. Sure his cuts were very visible, some were still red and often bled form time to time, but surely that couldn't be it. He snorted inquiringly. Why do you ask?Jinx turned to face the femmora then, stepping closer. He knew no-one here and the solitude he had been in had been overwhelming, for he was definitely a sociable stallion. His orbs swept over the femmora's frame, her grey coat was much different than his red-bay, but that was beside the point. They were not that different in height, but she seamed to think he was a dangerous one, though the reality was that he was frustrated, and his memories of his past had been running through his mind all day, making him a little an the angry side. Though some would think he was crazy how subconsciously he seamed to move while he was remembering things. Now he stood there his muscles rippling under his scared hide, the cool breeze blowing his black mane and tail out behind him his forelock curled around his one zinnith, he wasn't sure of the time of day but he was sure that the sun would be setting sometime soon. Then the darkness would take over, and the atmosphere would get colder. ...Not What It Makes Of You. ooc: lol. i have no muse *shakes head at self*. You didn't kill it... it was already dead. lol

Climbing up the hill had actually been much more tiring than Teheki ever could have premeditated and after she spoke she found herself breathing rather heavily. He told her he was fine, she barely heard. In her head the mare thought, what?Oh right right, although she came out of her sudden daze quickly, taking in deep breaths. She was nearly taken a back by the animal when she looked at him more closely now. He was beaten up in an almost horrendous manner (in her opinion), like if he were human a truck would have hit him. And he was asking now why she made any sort of inquiry. Teheki, not pleased with such displays of oblivious stupidity. Well, perhaps his brains were shaken. He faced her, stepped closer and she stepped back. Teheki dropped her ears back, her eyes narrowed for a second with suspicion, but she quickly opened them wide and prepared to answer. “Cause you’re jumping all over the place like some kind of maniac, or something… like that,” she told him, ending rather awkwardly. Teheki smiled. She shifted her weight than and began to trot away, frolicking almost to another side of the hill. When she was there she called back, “Just like to dance, then?” Her voice was actually scathing, more cruel than casual jest, but she hardly took heed to such a habit.

Jinx Luck Is What You Make Of It... Jinx snorted, shaking his head. He pawed the earth, then remembered the cut on his shoulder and winced. It wasn't too bad but the dull pain still came and went with his different movements. He was sure the steed he had challenged was feeling the same way for both had been very cut up, both had been matched pretty good. Jinx watched as the femmora backed up, a sort of smile crossed his muzzle, his zinniths catching the sound of her words. It seamed she thought he was none too bright, probably because he refused to see how bad a condition he was actually in. He watched as she took of to a hill close by, Jinx picked up a three-beat and followed, he was not going to let her just walk away, for he was sorta bored and had now here else to go. Think what you wishHe snorted lazily, he was unconcerned at what others thought of him. He had learned that; all that mattered was what you thought of yourself, when he was just a yearling and always the troublemaker, or so everyone thought. But Jinx had simply always been in the wrong place at the wrong time, for he was way to inquisitive for his own good. His orbs watched the femmora. He wasn't to far away from her again, his zinniths pricked, and his orbs flashing with amusement. ...Not what It Makes Of You.

Teheki was not certain how she should be reading the stallion’s reactions at this point. He smiled but seemed aloof to her, and rather unfriendly if she might say so. She curled her lip back, her ears flicking against her skull as she listened to him evermore annoyed. When she heard him begin to follow though, the mare brightened up, she turned with a smile again and skipped up towards him again. Teheki felt the urge to suddenly just smack him. “I will, thank you,” she said dryly. She looked him up again. “Fight, wasn’ it?”This was a bit obvious. He was injured in such a way that no predator could really give an explanation, she only wondered why. Perhaps he had been driven out of some land, much the way her brother had. In this sense she felt a pang of sympathy but also acknowledged that it was only natural. He did seem a little old to her for that possibility, but then every lead had their own opinion of what was a threat. She turned away again, accidentally swatting her tail at the stallion’s face as she made her way to the top of the hill again. It must seem like she had ‘ADD’.

Jinx Luck Is What You Make Of It... Jinx looked quizical. As far as he was concerned, anyone would see that his wounds were from a fight. If he had been attacked by a perditor his wounds would have been worse. He noted to himself that the femmora seamed a bit annoyed, but it didn't bug him much. He had been one to annoy most of the herd when he was younger. Yes, it was from a fightHe said, keeping his answere short and to the point. Like his brother Fell, his personality changed every now and then, but not by much. He snorted in surprize as the femmora's tail flicked him in the face. He shook his head, and three-beated his way after her again. It was his turn to ask questions. Why do you run? Jinx questioned, for it seamed that everytime she asked a question she wheeled and ran to the next hill over. He had never seen any act like this and was a little confused. Jinx's thoughts were criss-crossing acrosse his mind but as far as anyone else would know he was standing and watching. his zinniths pricked but swiviling, catching the sound around him. But he was just basicly bored, Jinx's convorsation with the femmora seamed to be going almost no where, but it was somthing. ...Not what It Makes Of You.

“I see. And why was that?” she called back yet again and then dropped to lie on the ground. To be honest she was extremely uncomfortable at this particular angle. There were two reasons for this, one was the simple fact she was on a hill and tilted in such a manner the whole weight of her body threatened to roll if she leaned to the left. The second was her lack of a vantage point, she felt inferior lying on the ground. So with this in mind, one might wonder why she had. Like a dog Teheki dragged her tail back and forth through the earth, she was oddly happy and contemplating the stallion before her. There was a difference, it occurred to her now, between being driven away and fighting. If he were in a fight that meant he wanted something. This realization led her to believe in the future he might one day be useful, and so she memorized his face and as he drew closer again his scent. “Cause I’m restless,” she said in a child-like voice, looking up at him. She thought for a second. “What is your name, eh? Teheki here.” So she would now have three safe guards, so to speak, if she ever needed to find the animal again, his looks, his scent, and most hopefully his name. And he would have hers, if ever she sent out a word. It seemed a bit ludicrous in her mind to be thinking so far into the future, but that was what Teheki did, she thought, and Ontaria would act. She gave him a look that demanded and swift answer, feeling like quite the little eclectic beast. Soon she hoped, she would be able to pry just a tiny bit more, if he did not immediately and inadvertently give her what she wanted.

Jinx Luck Is What You Make Of It... Jinx's zinniths pricked forward again. He listened to yet another one of her questions. Thinking of a sutable answere was easy, he just didn't know how to put it in words properly, so he said it the first way it came to mind. I fought for a land and lost.He said simply. He didn't say which land, for she hadn't asked. He watched he rlie down on the hill and though that wasn't the best idea for it seamed uncomfortable, to have to lean back constantly or risk rolling down the hill side. He swished his tail, and almost rolled his eyes at the answere to his question but stoped himself. At her next question he answered the same as usual. I am Jinx. He answered shortly. What an interesting name, Teheki, was. He hadn't heard anything like it, at least not for a while. Jinx continued to watch Teheki, she seamed to be taking in his scent. His wounds started to hurt again and his cut up shoulder had started to cramp he walked back and forth for a while, trying to get the cramping to go away, though he probably looked sort of strange. ...Not What It Makes Of You.

The sun was crawling across the sky at this time higher and higher even though it had disappeared behind the wind-blown clouds. Teheki tapped her foot to a beat in her head then as she began to cool down from the lack of movement and feel the heat being sucked from her body when each gust of wind passed by. She was intrigued and her facial structure was beginning to show despite how tensed her jaw had just become. Teheki’s eyes grew wider if this was even possible, and she looked up at him beaming like a star. It was not often in her life Teheki suspected she might come across a stallion that had just put forth a challenge, win or loose. As the winds changed from the ocean her brightness faltered and he mare blinked sand and debris from her eyes, clearing them out and cocking her head for some moderate protection. She began to alternate hooves, a tap here, and a tap there and even bobbed her head for a second. Then she raised her sideways skull up higher again with the same bubbling look that simply oozed interest. “Lost huh, well that’s not very good,” she told him, finding her new balance of weight nearly through her down the hill; quivering slightly she correct herself. Her interest in him remained profound though in an unnatural somewhat infatuated manner. His loss was of little care to the female. She grinned stupidly, lulling out, “Well there’s always next time, good luck, Jiiinx,” and ended on a separate more sarcastic tone. Again she became more cynical than friendly. Swish swish her tail went, swish swish the air went. She noticed how his stance was suddenly changing, pained instead of relaxed. Teheki eyed him more curiously then, studying his face. A thought sifted through her mind he might be more observant than she had banked on. Content with that however, she continued about her business to ignore the animal unless they were addressing one another and went so far to become fascinated with the grass beneath her. She took a bite, and oh! how terrible it was! Yet the mare mashed it between her jaws and swallowed without worrying how much partly chewed food would wreak havoc with her stomach. "And why did you lose?"

Jinx Luck Is What You Make Of It... Jinx continued to pace, the cramp slowly edging away. With time the wounds would heal and he might go back to the Island to challenge the steed again, or he might take his chances with another steed for a different land. But that would have to be in the future. His cramping stopped and he turned back to Teheki. He saw he tapping to the beat of some unheard song, and his dial raised up high, in a sort of question, but he decided it was nothing. He saw her almost glow, but he didn't know why. No I guess not. And maybe there will be a next time. Maybe NotHe snorted as he caught the sarcasm in her tone, flicking his zinniths back slightly, his orbs watching her carefully. A cold wind whipped his mane and tail forward, his forelock covering his orbs, no one would be able to see that the angry fire hadn't left his orbs, though it wasn't as angry now, but they sparked with interest. The femmora's mood seamed to be ever changing, much like his brother How interesting he thought to himself. He watched her face as she took a bit of the almost dead grass, she seamed greatly disgusted by the taste of it. He stared strait at her then, he did not like talking about how he had lost or why, but he felt he should at least answer her question. I lost because, we were both equally matched, but he won in the end.He answered bluntly, he didn't want to get into any detail, he showed his distaste in the subject by continuing his pacing, his zinniths flicked backward, though not pressed against his neck, with time he might become more tolerable on the subject of a lost battle but for now he was far from it. All the while he was pacing he kept his orbs focused on the femmora, watching her, though his forelock covered his eyes so of course she would never know, unless she felt it. ...Not What It Makes Of You

Teheki was a mare who was well aware she had a problem with crossing lines and not turning back, a problem where sometimes she pushed just a little too far. In most situations she would have easily read the fellow she was talking too than decided whether or not it were too late to back up and tread out of the water, in this case however she ploughed on nonetheless; Jinx’s actions were relatively constant, he gave a sort of scoff and answered. She felt her mood fall like a collapsed lung with the prospect of maybe, Teheki didn’t like maybe. Maybe was not in her vocabulary. It was a word she could rarely accept. No, she figured she would set him straight, though, now was not the time. The wind blew from her front left then so that she could scarcely see his face and even though it were cold her body suddenly relaxed as Teheki forgot her place. As her body began to roll she let out a cry of surprise, flipping over and crawling to her feet. A ave of embarrassment flooded over her body, (although amused with herself) and she gathered herself, moving up the hill to face the stallion in wait of his next reply. His eyes were nearly piercing through her then, or the little of them she saw. Her body was stationary yet she could feel her mind shirk back; was this the line she should have avoided? Not too concerned she resolved to stare back like she was challenging him, that was until he answered. Teheki’s body had a bit of a spasm and she literally jumped back a few feet with what might originally come across as surprise, an electric fence across her knees. Jinx had a very abrupt tone, and seemed unsure about his answer in her opinion; although she felt she should humour him she decided to take another route in that stead. She watched him pace once more, a curious animal, he seemed irritated but she could never be sure. A twinkling dark yet uncharacteristic laugh escaped from her then and projected over the hillside. Teheki herself dazed by the sound she had just purposely made, and how simply stupid it sounded. This did not bother her for a moment though, for the as it were, she had not been surprised but wonderfully delighted with his answer. “Wrong,” she chirped. I lost because, we were both equally matched, but he won in the end. His words repeated in her head, becoming more and more warbled. Teheki moved closer to the animal, almost so close she could hiss in his ear if she wanted, except she desired to be farther away, not one hundred percent trusting of strangers. “You lost then because you felt yourself inferior. Equality is inferior and yea want to be better.”

Jinx Luck Is What You Make Of It Jinx stopped pacing as Teheki started to role down the hill. A slight smile crossed his muzzle. When she correcte herself she seamed sort of embarrased. At her laugh His head cocked slightly to the side. He didn't know what was funny. She had moved up the hill, but instead of following he shited from foot to foot. He was being rather irritable and he knew it. He snorted as she spoke. She moved closer to him, and he raised his head up, orbs watching her carefully. At her next words, the anger coursed back through his viens, his zinniths flicked backward. He steped back quickly, rose up in a half rear, carful not to hit teheki with his knees though. He tore up the hill, his orbs watching her though, he disspeared over the ridge. The he slid to a stop, waiting to see what she would do, wheather she was come after him, or stay there he did not know, but he shook his mane, his tail flickig in annoyance, though his anger relapse was slowly fading away again, his zinniths flicking around to listen. ...Not What It Makes Of You.

His mood had changed so quickly from the smiling curious and amused stallion to something that made her scream with surprise. She had intrigued jinx for a moment, or so that was her assumption, but now he seemed infuriated. She might have had the time to be pleased with herself for invoking such a passionate reaction but instead safety for her life let it presently slip from her thoughts as he jumped high above her onto two legs. Teheki backed up and leapt out of the way as he came down, unsure since she was untouched if that had been his intentions at all. She glowered towards him as he took off, her ears so tight against the sides of her skull they might become sprained, were that possible. It took her awhile before she careened off after him, and he quickly disappeared behind, a ridge? She was unsure. Teheki slowed to a stop and continued in the direction towards the bay stallion at a lighter pace. Soon she picked up face, and at the top of the particular formation of earth by which he too had stopped she looked down to see the male had stopped. Her lip curled back to snarl at him until she grinned and called, “See, next time,” down towards him, taking off in the other direction. All in all, it was probably the smartest decision.

Jinx Luck Is What You Make Of It... Jinx whirled to see Teheki appear at the top of the hill. He heard her words but did nothing about them. He took off going along the side of the path she was taking, he kept his orbs on her as she came into sight. he wasn't right beside her, in fact he was probably a little less than a yard away from her, his black banner shooting out behind him. He still had no where else to go, so he was going to continue to stick around here for a while. though he made a mentle note not to let her words get to him, for he normally wasn't like that. Jinx continued after the femmora though. Keeping behind her, though off to the side, his hooves pounding the earth as he thundered across the terrain. ...Not What It Makes Of You.
