nananana
They were swift and cunning, warriors of the skies and this evening, they were hungry. It was strange really, how so many insects could carry such an uncommon virus. Somehow in this territory it always seemed to be stronger.
Two. Perfect. Landing, the swarm set in. At least a bite for each.
Haha suckers!
batman!
That's right, the Gaia, version two, also known as West Nile Virus has come the way of Teheki and Values! It probably wont set in for awhile, if at all, more information can be found here.

Her eyes adjusted, but it was still very dark inside, a rather calming instead of frightening property to the shelter. There were only two real down sides; she could not see Values and felt rather like a quarry at moments this bothered her in particular, and there was the odd biting insect. She swatted at one on her shoulder, flicking her head back attempting to chew the itch away. Wonderful.
“Yes, it is,” she said darkly, devious almost. In her voice was a dim sense of longing. She let it pass, the subject turning full circle to her brother once more. “The fields,” Teheki informed him immediately. “But we would pass through them in our journeys I am sure.” She was not entirely certain if he was trying to veer her from the herd lands to look closer to home first, but Teheki would not be swayed here. She would be in control, she knew the moment she found her brother Values would depart. Ontaria was sometimes useless. Not that he was inept.
But she must also cater to him, she knew. For what if he became fed up with her stubborn nature and abandoned her? No, it would not be the end of the world, only her search would be all the more time consuming. For a moment she wished she were wolf, she could simply call.
Teheki wished to sleep now. Her eyes drooped shut every few seconds but she fought off sleep and feinted to be awake. Values seemed to be in the mood for conversation, and perhaps he would give her some more positive ideas.
OOC; I could have been more constructive here, but, no. :/

Quite a while he went just slapping his sides with his tail or nose. Damn flies. Growing irritated at their constant nagging, he started to ignore the occasional tickle of bug-legs. It was the worst time to start ignoring bugs.
Flattening his ears slightly, a look of agitation crossing his features in the dark shelter. "Do you have anywhere you think would be good starting point?" He paused and rolled his withers, then eased over on his side, laying his skull on the sandy earth. "Any gut feelings?"
Black orbs shut and his body swelled with a deep breath, setting the sand into a fury as he let it out. Each limb stretch out suddenly, shivering with the exertion of the strain, then went limp comfortably. Sleeping was really a bit dull for the stallion. But when you knew you could wake aside a mare? That put a whole new perspective on things.
(Ugh. Sha-heet.)

TEHEKI come and see
Teheki nodded slowly, taking in his words. His voice was soothing. She closed her eyes and thought, a number. “Up the beach, towards the Shores.” The mare dropped her head down to the sand beside him; it was cool and made her feel more tired. She grinned lazily. Who would own the Shores? Would they be abandoned? She had noticed in her travels how very sparse the other lands were, even this evening it startled her that a stallion had been wandering alone. She closed her eyes. “That is my gut feeling.”
Values seemed to settle. Sleep was actually difficult for Teheki now that excitement welled inside her. How could she even consider sleeping when the future was so bright? She smiled contentedly. It was so very comfortable here, cool, but not too cool. Protected but not caged in. She felt at ease, if only for a second. Wariness came quickly.
The mare shifted uneasily, lifting her head onto the shadowy fur of her legs. Could she trust Values? But before Teheki could ponder any further her breathing slowed, and as the darkness descended, the last silver of sunlight slipped beneath the horizon she slipped with it. Taken into paradise.
