A small, young, almost pure black mare wandered through unfamiliar lands. She didn't know if she was trespassing, she certainly hoped she wasn't. The mare, who's name was Esmarelda, glanced around warily, looking for any signs of trouble, she knew that some horses got violent when they found trespassers. Esmarelda had been exploring, finally leaving the field of which she had lived in all of her life. She had been resisting the temptation to explore for too long, until finally she couldn't take it anymore and left the field to explore on her own. She had left at night, as she could blend in well when it was dark, she was like a shadow. She wanted to neigh to announce her presence, but was too scared to do so. She kept close to the tree line, so she could escape if she had to, she was nervous about new surroundings. She knew that some horses had herds, and that each herd had it's own land. Her head darted in many directions, looking for any sign of movement. Even though she was almost the colour of the shadows, she was still visible, though she was a little hard to see. She let out a sigh before laying down to rest in one of the shadows, though she didn't sleep. Her body wanted to sleep, but her mind wanted her body to stay awake so it could look around for danger. After a while, her body won the battle and she drifted off into sleep, hoping that she would be safe in the shadows.

Waves hitting his chest like watery canons, the ebon stallion struggled against the turrents to reach the center of his herdlands. Feather and Summer were dead, lost with old age and grief of his fathers passing, his mate, Dream, and the others were safe having fled from thier home to better circumstances. But the brave stag was determined to protect his fathers domain, in the name of Spirit, Flamed Storm would prevail. Ho lone stallions would steal the lands, not whilst he was around. Not that any would want to, seeing at the rains had flooded them...
Seeing an equaly midnight black figure upon the horizon on a patch of back, a small island surrounded by the seas, the muscular brute began to gallop clumsily through the waters. It was getting deeper the further her went forwards, it was at the base of his crest. Suddenly, it seemed the sands had vanished as his hooves lost grip and hads no support. He was forced to swin, his head momentarily going under water. Snorting, he made his way through the blue towards the equine. Luckily it was a mare. He sighed with relif and climbed quickly onto the shrinking island.
"M'lady, we must hurry, these lands are soon to vanish! I am Flamed Storm, lead stallion of these doomed lands."

Esmarelda looked up and was startled, she could see all the water that had surrounded her. She knew she was trapped, and she saw the stallion climb up onto the rapidly flooding land. She stood up in shock and looked around, she had thought the lands would be peaceful, free from trouble and panic. I am Esmarelda, what has happened? What has made these lands like this? she asked, trying to keep herself calm. No matter how much she tried, she wanted to run away, and she knew she would have to swim. she just hoped she would make it out of the land alive. She didn't know if Flaming Storm was the alpha, but she was sure she could ask questions later. Her head darted around as she got closer and closer to panicking, though she was determined to keep calm. She knew that panicking wouldn't help and it would just endanger her own life, especially if the mare panicked while she was swimming.

He smiled gently at her worry, trying to sooth her, he nuzzled her boa gently. "A storm, too much rain for my fathers lands to sustain. Come, follow me, you'll be safe, I promise." He turned and trotted towards the edge of the waters, snorting as he sniffed at it. Salt water, drink it and be cursed to insanity. Twitching his banner, he twisted his serpentined actross his shoulder and whinnied, then stepped into the waters. They were deep all too soon and his dainty pillars had to work hard to drive himself through the oceon. Nomore could Storm swim to the hidden Isle, for it was completly drowned, he dearly hoped the alpha, Windago, was safe.

Esmarelda nodded and began to tread into the rapidly rising waters. She snorted in disgust as she smelt the salt. I am trusting you, though I don't know you. she said as she began to walk further and further into the water. Soon she couldn't feel the ground anymore and she was forced to swim, it was either swim and live, or drown and die, she favoured the swim and live option. She drove herself forward, forcing herself to stay afloat, she wasn't a very good swimmer and she hoped she didn't have to swim for long. Esmarelda just followed Storm, hoping she would live to see dry land.

He nodded, understand that she was nervous. He swam speedily through the waters, they are getting darker, deeper, and more dangerous. The shores were known to see sharks and other marine life in the distance, but now the sands were lost, an attack could be quick to follow the pair.
"Dont splash...."
He muttered just loudly enough for her to hear him. His tassles stuck tighly to his thick mutt crest as he urged himself faster, his heartbeat getting faster an faster with each stroke her took. He could see the sand were they lifted up as sand dunes and to safetly, but they seemed to be speeding away rather than getting nearer to them...

Esmarelda began to pant as she tried to keep up with Strom, he was a much faster swimmer than she was. She tried as hard as she could not to splash, she knew deep down that there was sense in what Storm was saying. OK... she said as she kept on swimming. She could see the sand and a sigh of relief escaped her body, but she knew the struggle wasn't over yet. She felt something brush against her foot and she began to panic, then began to sink. She tried to keep herself afloat but she was struggling, she had no idea what brushed her foot and it worried her. She liked to know what was around her and now she was in danger of drowning because she was panicking. She let out a loud neigh, trying to tell Storm to leave her and go without her in case he decided to try and keep eher afloat.

Storm was not one to leave a wounded soldier on the battlefield, or a mare drowning in the blue, attacked by the eliments. He turned sharply and thrust his barrel under hers, lost under the waters for a moment. He could see eerie shapes below, but he didnt panik. Sharks were no problem unless the equines made sudden movements, splashes or if they were to cut themselves. Thier dark pelts were bad though, clearly visable from below. He pushed himself upwards and tried to take the mare to land, but his head was only just above the water and he was low on energy. They were close, too close to give up. The only way to get there quick anough was too splash, and so he did. He attacked the water, stabbing with his sharp ivories. Then her felt it. A flint struck his back left leg and he whinnied in pain, only just pulling away and swerving to the side. He continued splashing and his food blood terribly, and the swerve was a very sudden movement, all added together to start a shark feasting frenzy. He felt something else, not as smoot upon him, almost grainy. Sand! He stumbled onto shallow waters and limped to the shore, sliding the mare off his body and struggling to stand.

Esmarelda coughed when she hit the sandy shore and she choked up a little water. She opened her eyes and tried to stand, though she fell down again. She shook her head and looked over at Storm, and was shocked when she saw he was wounded. After a while she stood up and managed to stagger over to Storm before falling to the sand again. She nuzzled him gently, even though she didn't know him. You shouldn't have come back for me, this is all my fault... she said, feeling guilty about what had happened. It was her fault that Storm had been atatcked, if only she was better at swimming then none of it would have happened. I'm so sorry. she said, though she felt like she couldn't apologise enough. She didn't know why he went back for her, he hardly knew her so he could have just swam to shore, but she was eternally grateful for him saving her. I will be forever in your debt, I promise. she told him.

Storm stood shakily, watching the mare struggle through the sands. He smiled, born and raised upon the beach, Storm was used to its rough, sliding texture. He snorted doefully and nuzzled her in return. He shook his head slowly, brething deeply, his hind leg stinging and staining his beautiful beach.
"No, lady, you must do as you wish, I keep no debts, or captives. Though, I am unsure of why I risked my life, for my hier is dead and my mate is an adultress. Please, get to safetly Esmerelda, though I beg, return when the floods have vanished, for you would make good firneds with my herd, and the bachelors within."
He winked at her playfully and began to walk, three legged, up the dunes to higher ground. He could see three tiny sillohettes upon the oceon cliff, unfamiliar faces. He blinked in the low sun and snorted, collapsing onto the sands.
...Not far away from that very spot, a young mare fell into freezing waters, nearly drowned, yet her lover saved her, crashing through the cie, ricking his neck to save the beautiful chestnut. Spirit, lord of the shores, broke his dainty knees, just to save Amber, the unfaithful, yet strong, willing mare, from death. The paremts were torn rom one another as the deadly infection, the gaia, took the life of a new mother. Her child, Storm, was left alone, watching as his father was murdered by a rogue male...Denizen...

Esmarelda snorted angrily, she was not leaving without her new friend. She looked over at the silhouttes and then lay dow next to Storm. I am NOT leaving you here after you saved me, Storm! You saved me so I will return the favour! she told him and she wouldn't let him argue, she wanted to return the favour as she wouldn't be alive if Storm hadn't risked his life. You risked your life for me Storm, and I will forever be in your debt. Don't give up and allow me to help you. she said more gently. She had to help Storm, and she wanted to know who those figures were, she didn't like the look of them but she had to forget her fear. Her fear had let her down before and it wasn't going to do it again, she was determined.

Storm grinned up at the strong willed mare. She was certianly a fiesty creature. He snorted and sighed. "Ill never give up..." He muttered. His father had never given up, and neither would his son. Thrusting himself upwards, his side littered with flecks of sand, the ebon brute struggled to his feet and stood, his left hind leg raised painfully, and he galnced back up to the sillohettes. The largest had left and just two stood there, unknowing of what was happening on the beach below. Wait...He recognised the grey stallion...Seydi? He turned his attention back towards the mare and from his gay friend. Snorting a little water from his nasles, he grinned and leaned his bodice against her lightly for support.
"I hope you dont mind, but im not clockwork, I cant go on forever. I need to get up there, to see that horse. I know him..."
He nuzzled Esmerelda and began to limp slowly over the dunes.

Esmarelda looked up at Storm and moved to his right side. Lean on me, I will support some of your weight so it eases you leg. she told him. She wasn't very strong, but she had to try, for Storm's sake. She didn't know who the silhouttes were, but she didn't allow that to bother her. She had to help Storm up there, then see what could be done about his leg. I just feel so bad for what has happened to you leg. she said, her voice wavering a bit. She knew she had to keep herself together, she couldn't become all depressed, not at that crucial time. She sighed, keeping herself calm and focusing on the task she had ahead of her. She hoped the silhouttes were friendly, but she wouldn't run if they weren't as she would have to help and protect Storm.
