Ok this really isn't seperated into Chapters..but its called Maverick High. Read and you will catch on. ^_^ Enjoy
The car stopped in front of Maverick High. Three doors opened and the family stepped out and gasped at the large, stone building. I walked forward and pushed the glass doors to the main building open. My mother and father came in after me and I heard my mom (Gabrielle) gasp in awe. My father (Joseph) put his hand on my shoulder and looked around at the buildings structure. The floor was covered with white marble and the walls of beautiful, crimson wallpaper. A spiral staircase stood to the left of the room, and another on the right. We ascended the right one first to find a series of dorm rooms numbered from 100 and on. Then going to a hallway linked to the other staircase, we found more dorm rooms…including mine. Room 257, I slipped the key into the lock and twisted the handle.
The door swung open and lightly tapped the wall. On the left wall there were two beds dressed in white silk. In between the beds stood a solid oak side table with a crystal lamp setting on it. On the other wall there were three doors. Two closets and a bathroom. Between the closets there was a dresser made of oak wood and sanded to a shining finish. I opened the door to the bathroom and Gabrielle and Joseph, (I call them that rather then mom and dad), looked around the room. Inside the bathroom there was a porcelain bathtub, a neatly tiled shower, of course a toilet, and a sink with a medicine cabinet hanging above it. I exited the room and walked over to the wall standing in front of the main door. A sliding glass door led out to a balcony that over looked a pond and field.
“Alright sweetie,” Gabrielle began. “We have to get back home, your father and I have busy schedules and I’m sure you don’t want us here anyway.” She said looking at me with sensitive expressions upon her face. “Yeah, its fine. I need to get some sleep anyway!” I said falling onto the bad closest to the balcony and rubbing my face in the pillow. I watched them leave and heard the door softly clink shut before standing up and unpacking. A few minutes passed until I was done and I slid the glass door open and walked out onto the balcony. As I looked out over the lake she heard someone fiddling with the door so I stepped over to it and looked out the peep hole that had been bored through the wood.
I looked out to see a guy who was having utmost trouble putting his key through the lock, for he was carrying a mass of bags. I opened the door and took a bag from his hand before laying it onto the bed closest to the door and going back out onto the balcony without a word. He looked at me in a peculiar way, like I didn’t belong here for some reason. So I turned and sat on the balcony’s rail and stared back at him. He spoke with an English accent and said “I’m Seth…It’s odd to see someone like you here.” I just looked at him before sliding off of the rail and flopping down on my bed. It was a week before actual school started, so I was thinking why anyone else would be here so soon. “It’s common that when someone gives you their name, that you give them yours.” He said in a snobbish tone. I looked at him and rolled my eyes before replying dully “I’m Renee, call me Rae though. And what do you mean someone like me?” I asked in the same snobbish tone he had used.
“I’m saying that I have never seen a girl here in the time that I have been coming to Maverick. It is after all, an all BOYS school.” Seth said emphasizing the word ‘boys’ After a while of thinking if this was a joke or not I looked around the room for some proof of this. Finally, after scattering everything all over the room, I found a brochure in the bottom of the side table. It read, “Maverick High, we will make you kings!” Proof enough for me. I picked the phone up and carried it into the bathroom. I shut and locked the door behind me before phoning my mother. After she picked up the phone all hell broke loose and there was absolutely no reason for me to be in a room alone. “In all BOYS school!” I screamed into the receiver. “What the hell were you thinking?! Can’t you even tell that your own child is a GIRL AND NOT A GUY!!” I yelled once more. Gabrielle broke in and said quietly, “Sweetie, we had to…we didn’t think you would mind after all since you love boys.” I could hear Joseph in the background chuckling to himself and my mother cut him off with a loud slap on the arm. “SO WHAT!!! That gives you no damn reason to send me to an all guy’s school! What in the hell makes you think that I want to be alone here. I will eventually need someone to talk to you know!” My voice could clearly be heard through the door so I went ahead and opened it before jumping onto my bed. I noticed that Seth had been listening into the conversation the whole time.
“Dear...” My father’s voice came through the other end. “The school needed to see how a girl would fit in in the school, so they chose you.” He then coughed slightly and said something about there being a lower price as well. Before he could finish his lecture I slammed the phone down and put it back into its original position. Seth laughed and rubbed his ears, “I’m gunna be deaf by the beginning of school at that rate.” He said before grabbing a set of keys. “Want to go to Starbucks for a coffee?” He asked me after receiving a sharp glare. “Sure” I replied.
We went out to his corvette and I got in the passenger side as soon as he turned the alarm off. I climbed into the leather, passenger seat and buckled my seatbelt while waiting for him to start up and drive. As he climbed in I admired his short chestnut brown hair, his green eyes and his nice body. Underneath the tight, black shirt he wore I could see a six pack, most likely from sports…like most guys. “How’d you get so fit?” I said looking down at my flat stomach. “I play football (soccer) and I model. So I have to.” He replied while revving the engine up and driving towards the local Starbucks. “Oh, so that’s why you looked so familiar! I saw you in the September 2004 Issue last year. I thought that you were from somewhere, but I couldn’t get it until now.” I rambled. “Uh…yeah” He said turning slightly red in the cheeks. I wondered why he would blush, after all he was a model and should be used to getting admired, but I shoved it out of my mind as he parallel parked in front of the coffee shop.
I unbuckled and got out. Before we went inside he checked and re-checked to make sure that the doors were locked and the alarm was on. He opened the door for me and I walked in with a thank you. We both walked up to the counter and ordered a French Vanilla Latte and a Caramel Macchiato. They took Seth’s name for the order and we sat down in a booth by the window. “So…how long have you been playing football?” I asked him trying to stay off of the modeling subject since he seemed uncomfortable talking about it. “A few years…It’s not the most wonderful thing in the world but it’ll do.” He said shrugging his shoulders and standing up to go get our order. As he sat down with the drinks I thanked him and sipped at it using a straw to avoid getting the foam on my face. (I ordered the Caramel Macchiato.)
We both sat there sipping our coffee drinks silently. Outside the window I saw a few girls sitting on the hood of a sports car surrounded by muscular guys. Ugh, stupid preps. Seth opened his mouth to talk but then closed it again with a sudden change of mind. “What?” I asked him and he simply shook his head. “Tell me….please.” I practically begged him. “Alright, have you ever…been a model before?” As he asked the question I was in the middle of a sip and nearly choked on it in astonishment. “Me! A…a…model!?” I shouted at him and everyone in the shop looked at us. He hid his face before grabbing me by the arm and taking me outside. “Jeez…do you have to be that loud!” He said harshly to meet with a look of fury on his face. “And yes…you a model. You have a wonderful figure, good eyes. Almost everything you need.” He said and I could feel my face turn hot and I knew I was probably as red as a ripe tomato. “Uh...can we go back now?” I asked him shyly dropping the whole modeling thing. He nodded and opened the door to the car for me after disabling the alarm. I thanked him and climbed inside. He went around, got in, put the key in the ignition, and we were off.
