†. Can you feel it?
Would you go with me if we rolled down streets of fire Would you hold on to me tighter as the summer sun got higher If we roll from town to town and never shut it down
Would you go with me if we were lost in fields of clover Would we walk even closer until the trip was over And would it be okay if I didn't know the way
If I gave you my hand would you take it And make me the happiest man in the world If I told you my heart couldn't beat one more minute without you, girl Would you accompany me to the edge of the sea
Let me know if you're really a dream I love you so, so would you go with me

†. The oil stained mare gazed at her love as he stood there. Her belly was already swelling, and she could feel her unborn foal inside her. It kicked once, making Magic jump. It's first kick. The mare's heart swelled with pride. She couldn't wait to show off her foal once it was born. Already she was a proud mother. She couldn't wait to show her mother, but she would never have the chance. Magic didn't know her mother was dead from a snake bite. When she found out the mare would be greatly hurt. She would feel lost without her mother, but she would use the needle of her compass to mend her broken heart. The mare was getting use to tragic moments. The death of her father, humans, wars, lost love... and so much more. She began to think about Her old flame, Curse. What was he doing right now? Was he thinking about her? She knew he must have moved on by know. She once had hard feelings against him... but what was the point now? She would have a family, and Curse was gone. As soon as she thought that her name was spoken softly... it couldn't be... could it? Her muddy eyes looked up to see the white stallion that had once held her heart. He was back again? What was on his mind? She took a step back, then noticed the mare that stood beside him. She had a swollen belly as well. So, he had moved one. A trickle of pain hit her... but then it went away. They both had moved on. Starting their own families. She nuzzled Driftwood, telling him she didn't fear Curse. She would never hurt Driftwood, he had healed her heart and given her her greatest wish. Her belly was kicked once more, making the mare look at her belly. The sun had bleached her mane white, the same with her tail. Both had grown long and thick through out the years. Her white feathers covered her daggers, making them black and healthy. The sun wouldn't get her hooves. She wondered what the foal would look like. "Curse" She nodded toward him, as a hello. Then she looked to the Arabian mare. She felt the shyness creep up on her, but not as bad as her foal days. She simply didn't speak to her... for now. The foal kicked her one again. "Quit that baby...", she said looking at her large belly. She looked at her love, then back to Curse and the mare. Hopefully they would know she was speaking to the foal inside her. The white blaze was still bright, it had always been bright. Her coat had dried, and the dirt was gone. Giving back her slick, dark coat. She looked a lot like her grand-father, father, mother, and grand-mother. She had never met her grand-parents, but she knew her grand-mother had been killed by her grand-father. She was sorry to say that she was relieved he was dead. Her muddy pools left the pair, and looked at the waves. The sea was still choppy and dangerous. Her home was surely washed out by now. She hoped all of her brother's herd had gotten away. "How have you been?", she spoke still looking at the sea. She wanted to be nice, after all Curse had given her a great childhood, but know that was over. She looked at Driftwood, a horsey grin crossed her muzzle. This was the stallion that would be with her for the rest of their days, she hoped. She didn't want to loose Driftwood...

.Curse Of The Sea. What I Said Was True- I Loved You
Go ahead as you waste your days with thinking When you fall everyone sins Another day and you've had your fill of sinking With the life held in your Hands are shaking cold These hands are meant to hold
She seemed a slight bit startled he was there- and he understood well. He shook his silky white mane and watched the pair of them. He felt the smooth pelt of a smaller, petite mare and turned his dial to see Ghost. He offered her a pathetic smile of a exscuse. "Just a old friend." words were spoken softly though he knew there was a possibility Magic could hear and if she did he had little reason to care. Both of them had moved on, though pieces were still tied together. A great part of him Magic had aided in the molding, the gentle compassionate beast would not have been that way had he not fallen for the shy filly so many years ago. Banner flicked on his muscular haunches a vain attempt to rid them of the flies which pesstered him so. Paper thins quivered as he breathed in the familiar scents, the smell of the water, Storm, and Magic as well as a few others he did not know- but a year was enough for things to change dirasticly. He was wrapped up in the familiar lands, the mare he knew well and the stallion he disliked with a bitter distaste.
Magic.. there was no more of that left in the world. Invisible sparks had always been a myth. His name was spoken in the same manner, a mixture of confusion, pain and a tenderness that would never be removed for the other. He was just happy she was alive- his restless mind was at ease. She had survived the difficult times in the land and lived, to prosper and offer life another who he prayed wouldn't hurt her in the same manner he had. He wanted the best for her, and this seemed to be it. Even though he felt like it wasn't how it should be, or how it had all been ment to play out he would interfer no longer and always be there as a friend. She seemed so lost, and as he had, had chosen another to try and forget everything. Every tender word.. both of them had chosen the wrong partner and even though neither would admit it somewhere, somehow- they both knew it. Curse denied it by devoting himself to another mare, and telling her they were merely old friends. He forced himself to believe he no longer loved her and it seemed to be working. The stallion nuzzled the ebony mare, and whisphered quietly to her. "If you ever need me just call, even if I am unable to come I'll always be there with you. " and it was the truth, he would come no matter what he risked. He pulled back as not to stay with her to long, not to look anything more then friends and to force everyone to think he truely no longer cared about her.
They had both ripped out eachothers hearts, but both of them had been doing what they had to and now looking back he understood more then he thought he would. Never did he think he would be standing so close to Magic without showing the slightest drop of affectione, nor standing so close to the creme stallion without starting a hellish fight. All the affectione that he ever had for Magic or still did was now channeled towards Ghost, even though he truely didn't love her. Words could easily be faked, he could very easily roleplay the stallion that he had been with Magic. All the tenderness and every other thing he had ever done was now played out carefully. He didn't like decieving Ghost, he was decieving himself.. the world and everyone else who cared to look at him with their eyes. And he didn't even know it. Such a broken world.. life had shattered the stallion and broken him into scrambled bits. He could not decide which part to chase after first and now finally had taped himself together, jamming the wrong pieces together. As she spoke to the 'foal' which of course she was proud of already, Curse flinched just slightly. Barely enough to be noticed. The word Magic and Foal had never fit together unless it was, Magic's never going to have a foal.or. Magic doesn't want a foal yet so wait. How Driftwood had gotten Magic to so easily comply with the wishes of most stallions earned him some respect in Curse's book.
He had waited, as she had wished for a long time. And now he was back without her. Without the family he had always invisioned or the life he had dreamed about time and time again when they were younger. The stallion's steel blue pools pierced the darker brown ones, of the ebony mare. "I have faired."

Drift felt his heart swell with range at the apearance of the ivory stag. He had no buisness here, he had no reason to return again to taunt the mare they both loved. Curse had abandoned her, with no explanation and no reason. HE had upped and left, and worse of all, he dare return, claiming his love for her. Magic was a mare who deserved far better. Better even than he, Drift Wood could offer, but Curse offered nothing but distrust and pain. His velvets opened to show his aging ivories in a warning before he calmed. Thorns lay flat on his skull, nares open to the scent he grew a strong dislike to. His dull knives kicked hte earth as he moved closer to his loves rounding belly. Still, he would not attack Curse. There was no purpose. Curse would prove to be a strong foe, and though storng and quick, Drift had strong bulk on his side. But he would not start a fight before Magic. It would only make him look worse than the ivory beast.
But Drift would not go out of his way to befriend the bastard. He would stay silent and defensive again his lover's side, glaring calmly at the two pale equines. His feeling towards Curse wasn't loathing, nor hate. It was something else. Something not directed at the stallion, but his actions. Perhaps had Curse not abandoned Magic, they would be great friends. In a way, he was thanking the stag left. HAd he not, Drift would never have had the chance to win Magic's heart and have her win his. Perhaps he would never have met her, never settle in the Shores, but continue roaming until his legs fell in and his heart broke and he travled no more. Now, because of Curse, his legs lay down and his heart settled, all because of a lonely black mare in the Shores.
Then, he had to speak. As he thought on how much this stallion helped him, how much he had given to him, his distaste for the white hued thing disperced, and he was left with nothing towards him. The good neutralled out the bad, and the stallion was nothing more than a stallion.
Drift Wood rose his head beside the lovable black mistress proudly, showing off his trophey, his love and his life. He stood beside the life he made for himself with Magic, and the life they made together that stirred in her belly.
He looked at Curse, his glare calming to a strong, hard stare. Amber, peircing pools looked into the blue orbs that watched them both. "Curse..." He said quietly, stepping closer to the other male. "I am sorry." He paused again, gathering his collection of words. "I am sorry you are fool enough to think you deserve Magic after how deeply you wounded her. And I am sorry about this fate. How I wish for you to find a love and know how to cherish her, treat her like the perfectly shined apple she is. I am sorry Magic is wise enough to not search out the serpent that bit her, asking him to marry her. I am sorry I cannot help you as you helped me to find and fall in love with this beautiful creature." Perhaps his words were deep, but Drift spoke true. He spoke his heart, and he had no intention to sting the stallion (though he wished they did), and he did not want to aid him. All he wished was to have the stallion know.
Then, he swelled his chest with a deep breath and looked away from the two before them, his gazers set on Magic. His skull lowered, his head laying against her chest. Auds eased and his pools shut as he listened to teh steady thrumming of her heart. And he prayed she did not still love the ivory liar.

†. Magic watched as Curse spoke to the unknown mare. What he said she didn't know, nor was it any her concern. She brushed it off, he had moved one. Her heart began to beat fast as the white stallion came toward her. She knew he could never hurt her, but still she felt fear. The words he spoke were kind and gentle... just like they had always been. She shook her head as a reply, unable to speak. She felt his nuzzle and slightly pulled away. It had been so long since she had felt that nuzzle. It didn't feel right, nor did it feel wrong. Her mind was buzzing with deep thoughts. Maybe it was meant for the ebony mare and ivory stallion to be friends. Great friends that would always be there for one another. Could it be that so many years ago they both misunderstood the same thing? Or was it just meant to be like it was now? The thoughts confused her. Had it all been a big mistake? Or a miracle in hiding. She looked to the angry seas, and a smirk crossed her muzzle. A piece of the puzzle had fit into the mare's heart. A simple understanding. His next words came as a comfort as well, knowing that he was alright. Magic felt her foal kick once more, this time a little harder. The unborn foal rolled in her belly. It seemed unsettled. Magic knew it wouldn't be long before she foaled. Her muddy pools looked toward Driftwood. When she did her heart fluttered. Her forelock lay on one side of her face. Her mane was long and thick, and all it did was lay on her side. Her banner slapped at her sides almost constantly. She hated flies, they were nothing but pests. She took her gaze off of Driftwood and onto the other mare, what was she thinking? These thoughts were interrupted by her love's words. As she listened she felt her heart drop slightly. Curse had moved on, she knew. She stood still for a moment, letting Driftwood lay his head on her chest. Then she nudged his neck and looking into the mare's direction. Maybe Driftwood hadn't seen her. The mare looked for something to say, but nothing came to mind. She felt it would be best to stay out of the stallions' talk. Maybe they should get things straight in between them. So the mare stood still, her muddy pools gazing toward the stormy sea.

†. The pain, it hit her like a ton of bricks. A high-pitched scream left her muzzle. Her eyes showed white, and her ears lay flat on her skull. This was it... her foal was coming. The oil stained mare began to pace, the pain stopping for a moment. The it came back. She grunted loudly, and her body began to break out in a cold sweat. The mare looked at Driftwood, but then was forced to close her eyes in pain. She looked around, Curse was gone. He had left once more. At this point in time she really didn't care. The pain didn't wear off at all. The mare was eased down to the earth, careful not to hurt her foal. The mare lay her her side, wet with sweat. She swirled her banner upon the dusty earth. The only sound she could make was a grunt, the pain was unbearable. Her sides heaved with pushes. She wanted the foal out. She got up on her belly, still laying on the earth. All four of her feathered feet lay in a bundle. Time passed and a foal lay on the cliff's earth. Magic got up after a small rest and looked at her foal. A colt! Her son had a black coat with white feathers... just like her. His belly was splashed white, along with his face. His eyes were an amber color, just as his father's. He was a large colt, and she knew he would grow up to be larger than her. The oil stained mare's heart swelled with joy and pride. She had found the one thing most important to her, her son. her child, her life. She nuzzled the colt's warm body. He was still wet, but she didn't care. The colt began to jump. He wanted to get up. He struggled with his long legs. Soon he was up, and making an attempt to walk. The colt fell, but soon he was walking around. His gait was awkward, but all newborns have this funny walk. The black colt then walked over to his mother and nursed. Magic grunted as he bumped her utter, for it was full. After the colt had his first meal he dropped to the earth and took a nap. "Lumberjack...?", she looked over to Driftwood with loving eyes. What would he think of the name....

Drift Wood gave Curse a final snort of disaproval, before everything he knew was thrown out of wack. He turned suddenly at the sharp cry of pain from his dear love. He panicked a moment, before realizing she was to foal. His fear turned to excitement, but seeing Magic in such a state pained him greatly. Pacing back and forth along her side, her kept his muzzle on her warm belly, laying at her side when she lowered. All the while he whispered sweet words to calm her, and played with her banner to help distract her from her pains.
Finally, after what seems forever, his dear silenced. The foal lay in the grass, perfect. He could never ask for more. A colt, that resembled Magic, save the white pillars and belly. And his eyes. Drift never was narcasistic, but he liked his eyes. And it pleased him to see them on his child.
He lay on the burnt ground, no ground a foal should first step on, but it was ground none the less. Better than their drowning home. Watching the foal stand, and drink for his first time, set his heart a blaze. The stallion couldn't help but smile as the youth stood under his mother, legs splayed to keep his balance, his head tilted to the side to reach Magic's milk.
After a while, he stood and nuzzled Magic. "I'm proud of you, dear." He said, pressing his skull aginst her boa. "He's beautiful." Looking at the foal curled at it's mother's side, he bumped MAgic again. "Lumberjack is perfect."

†. The oil stained mare watched her newborn son. Her heart swelled with pride, and a new found love. A lover stronger than she had ever imagined. Her dream had come true. As she looked over the sleeping colt. Almost in disbelieve. That was her foal, her son... her life. She knew her life would be dedicated to Lumberjack and Driftwood now. The two would be her main focus. She couldn't wait to show off her baby. She wanted to show Storm and his mate. The whole sandy shores herd. She wanted to show all equines her beautiful baby boy. Her family jewel. Magic felt the loving nuzzle of Driftwood. His words danced in her ears. The mare's feathered feet carried her to her son. She ran her muzzle down his back, and played with his short mane. She noticed the white splash on his belly. It seemed her mother had also made a mark on the foal. She couldn't wait to show Feather, but the mare didn't know Feather was looking down at her grand-colt right now. "My little Lumberjack...", Magic's words were soft. So soft that they could barley be told apart my the winds. Her muddy pools look toward Driftwood, and a horsey smile crossed her muzzle. Her oil stained pelt gleamed, as did her son's. The mare turned her crane toward the sea. What lay before her made her heart jump. The island was above water once more... and she knew her home would be too. Would the shore's be safe enough for her son though? Magic ran her head along her leg in thought. Many things would be scattered along the shore. Not to mention the sharks would be around. She didn't want to lose her Lumberjack, or her Driftwood. Her muddy pools look into Driftwoods in question. Should they make the trip home? Maybe it would be best to let Lumberjack get stronger first.

†. Lost in a dream...
She left a yellow rose and a long neck bottle On a table beside my bed With a short little note said I had a good time It was written in lipstick red She didn't sign her name I wonder If that's a little secret that she keeps Ooo she's walkin' around in my sleep
Dream walkin' pillow talkin' She's callin' my name again
Day's breakin' I ain't wakin' up I'm sleepin' in I'm on a roll now I gotta know how this dream ends
She took my new sunglasses and my old jean jacket And she never even bothered to ask You could say I haven't seen her since late last summer But every night she comes back Just like smoke through the keyhole She slips in so silently Ooo she's walkin' around in my sleep

†. The young colt lay asleep on the cliff's burnt earth. He was a large, beautiful colt. He had had a black coat just like his mother. Also he had the white blaze and white feathers of his mother. His grand-mother had given him a white splash on his belly, and a small spot on his withers. His father had given him deep amber pools. As he slept, his small banner slapped at his sides. His sides rose and fell with each breathe he took. He lifted his head as he mother came toward him. He felt her muzzle run down his back, and he felt safe. He listened to his mother say his name. Lumberjack, it sent his young heart flying. He liked it. His amber pools looked toward his father. His small, fuzzy ears pricked forward. He rose up, still a little shaky on his feathered feet. He stopped before his father. His small head turned toward his mother, then back toward his father. One ear lay pricked toward his father, the other lay back toward his mother. This was his first look over of his father. He had looked over his mother as she nuzzled him. His small mind wondered what his father thought of him.

Watching as the matching amber pools rose to his large bulk, the draft smiled warmly, lowering his head to the foal's height. He tapped the child's muzzle gentle with his, hot breath rushing over the other's tiny muzzle. Thorns rpciked foreward as Drift looked over his son. So perfect... never could he dream for a better child. Now he only wished to see how he would behave.
"Hello, Lumberjack." He said quietly. Placing final nuzzle against the youth's hide, he looked up to Magic, smiling uncotnrolably.
As if hearing Magic's worry, he answered it. "By now our home should be uncovered... but I doubt it will be safe enough for him. It's not the journy... we could make that slow... but the beach might be infested with snakes, and the waters are probably violent. Not to mention the fresh water might be contaminated." Nuzzling against the ebon mare he smiled softly. "But it shuld be safe soon enough. And by then Jack will be old enough to travel without us slowing much."
