The Arrival
War Admiral thundered into the clearing, his legs pumping quickly beneath him. He was finally free, as much as he loved the racetrack, this was so much better.
Besides, this is so much better, and I'm sure I can find horses to race with here.
He was talking to himself inside his head again, something he'd begun doing quite often ever since he left the stable. It had been dark outside when he left, now he was showered with daylight.
He needed to rest, but he just knew he wasn't far enough away, and they were probably looking for him far and wide, so he was not safe just yet.
War Admiral continued on for several days, stopping to rest for short periods of time, and to eat and drink. Suddenly, the scent of other horses was in the air, and he hoped he had found a new home.
Finally.
He breathed a sigh of relief, laying down to rest. His strenuous journey across miles of unknown territory, had finally taken him to the wild horses the stablemen had talked so much about.
