Mneme (Nee-mee)
____________________________________
AGE 5
GENDER Mare
PERSONALITY Mneme is confidant and elegant in every way. A very level headed mare with a temper, but she's quite the introvert and never lets it show. She can be sneaky and underhanded if she really feels the need to get back at you and while, very proud she is not vain. She simply is happy with who she is and content in her being. There is little conflict in her, and she has absolutely no fear. Even as foolish as that is, she refuses to be afraid of anything.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION Color and Markings: Chestnut with a large blaze that isn't very even and spreads to the side of her face a little. One white stocking on right hind. One white pastern. Height: 15 hands Build: A tall mare but not too lanky, she is about the middle of the road. Her muscles are a little bunchy a bit like a quarter horse, but not totally. Her body isn't frail or small, she has a lot of meat on her bones and is very powerful in her movement.
HISTORY Mneme was born into more of a family than a herd. She lived her life with her mother and father for a long time. For a small herd they were strong, and they had a large amount of lands they seemed to rule over. The deserts were hot, and difficult for any creature to survive in but her father being an aged and wise stallion made it look easy. Perhaps it appeared they owned the land because there were no other animals so foolish as to try and live there, better yet fight for such a "poor place." Which is what most would consider it. The vast rocks, cliffs, and sand. The heat that seared in the day and the chill of the night. Food wasn't plentiful and water was even less common. Despite all of this Mneme grew to treasure this place of dust and famine. It strengthened her spirits, and lit a fire in her belly. She knew even from a foal to live every day as though it was your last. Mneme followed her father and mother, patrolling and seeming to never stop, but never wonder too far, around the lands they resided in. It imparted wisdom most foals do not get and a feeling of closeness. When she was 3, on a day she'd decided to wonder off on her own, she met a young dun stallion named Jonjin. He was dense, and show-offish but being an unbred mare, she invited him to her and quickly became pregnant. Within a few days of secret meetings the stallion whisked her away, no goodbyes, no nothing. He simply took her with him. She didn't protest because it had to be this way, and she wouldn't cry if it need not be that way. After the filly was born Mneme deemed herself the happiest mare in the world. She wasn't totally happy with the stallion, but her child was magnificent, and strong...and that would be her downfall. It was dark, and especially cold that night. The small band of horses sought refuge in a rock cave, but it did little for them. Jonjin was braving the cold in order to check to see if danger was about but Mneme could careless. He could have been killed and it would mean nothing to her, she was here for her foal, and this stallion bothered her. The weanling would leave with her when she was older, the mare convinced herself of that. In the midst of her spiteful thoughts it seemed her wish was granted, and a loud roaring call was sent out by the stallion. She had no time to be grateful for his worry, because she knew that urgency meant run. Without any hesitation and she did. Mneme and her filly ran so hard she could barely see the ground she was about the step on before her hooves clotted over it. The bright lights and whirling sounds of a flying machine behind them spurred her on over the hill. If she'd had air she'd have gasped, 30 or more horses and at least 5 more flying contraptions were galloping towards a large stone building. Fear pushing them forward. Keala (the filly) was pushed from her side in the ruckus of the mass and panicked crowd. They only took about 20 of the 30 or more horses, to heaven knows where, and the others, including Mneme, were set back into the wild. Minus one foal. Mneme never saw Keala or Jonjin again and she moved on with her life. She still hurts for her lost child, even after a long year. That year has consisted of traveling out of the deserts, it was simply too dangerous for a lone mare, and too lonely.
OTHER Style (Elegant, shabby etc.): Proud and elegant Greatest flaw: Childish, dispute her appearances to others she pouts and can behave like a child when she's alone. Also her hormones get the better of her which can be a real pain to others. Best quality: Her ability to be strong but sweet. Habits: Paws often, and sticks her tongue out when she drinks.
