Little Comet had finally found her way to the claiming grounds and she could hardly believe it. A pair of horses could be seen in the distance but too far for Comet to make out anything about them. It didn’t matter, at the moment all that did matter was the fact she made it. Comet jumped into a gallop and jumped into the air off all fours and kicked out with her hind legs, she landed and spun in a circle before she bolted forward and ended with a rear, her front legs pumping in front of her. Comet landed with a happy snort before her trotted over to a tree, her tail held high.
The two-year-old filly had been searching for a home for a long time when she had stumbled upon a pair of horses who, off on their own but not looking for another to join them, had pointed her in the direction of the Claiming Meadow. Now that she had actually made it here though Little Comet was unsure of what to do now. She dropped her head to the grass and started to lightly graze, one eye on the horizon as she watched for anyone who might approach her. She was anxious and it was hard to stand still so every once in awhile she would trot in a wide circle around the tree before dropping her head back to the grass.
The little filly had been living on her own for a year and she was nervous now that she might actually be in a group again. She stood at 16 hands and was an odd patterning of bay with white streaks down her sides. Every time she pranced around the tree her brown tail flew out behind her and she shook her head, moving her mane with it. She tried to calm her nerves and settle down to just eat. She finally dropped her head to the grass and ate, but every once in awhile her body quivered with anticipation.
She’d finally find a home again….
