CHAOS WALKER _________________________________
Hooves squelched, sinking low into the flooded mud, a product of the melting snow. Although the sun sat in the cloudless sky, the wind brought with it the lasting chill of Winter. A dappled buckskin shoulder twitched, not from the cold but from excitement. Everything here was new to Chaos, the grass, the sun, the sights, the smells. Others would have been slightly apprehensive of entering a new land alone but Chaos' pancing gait showed otherwise. His tail raised, flickering across his flank as his eyes traveled, unable to choose where to rest.
With a burst of sudden energy and a flick of his heels, his prancing turned to a gallop, head outstretched as the wind rushed by him. This was what Chaos loved. Shifting his weight to the back, he slid to a halt, showering mud across his rump. Was he the only one here? Or were there others around to share the fun with?

Skraelinga,
On most days Skraelinga stayed with the herd in the Forest or the many valleys of the Mountain, and while the woodland and meadows were as muddy as ever with meltwater, he knew that the risk of a landslide here was negligible. The hills of the Deep Forest were not like the tumbled slopes towering in the distance and the grassy plain even less so. Skraelinga shook his hooves clear from another sinkhole of mud, and carried on along the rough path the herd had taken when they'd last come through. When he next looked up, Skraelinga's eyes widened. A horse!
He was an older stallion and handsome, always a bit worrying to Skraelinga, who liked to err on the side of caution when it came to strangers. Though it was rare of him not to travel without a companion somewhere nearby, and the great meadow was sure to have a Guardian scouting somewhere or guiding the herd to water, he couldn't help but feel the old anxieties. Was he strong enough, smart enough? What was even more bizarre to Skraelinga was this older horse's energy. How like a colt he seemed. The lead smiled with bright eyes, curious and compelled. Who was this strange stallion, and why was he here?
He scanned along the grass for any sign of trouble. A bachelor group passing through would have done the Horses of the Sky no good, not with the Guardians currently scattered. Unlikely it was, Skraelinga thought, as his scouts would have reported such movement days ago. No sooner did he think this, another creature caught his eye. A slight mare, rather pretty and, Skraelinga knew by the way she greeted this handsome newcomer, also a stranger herself. What a day! Two wanderers at once. The stallion shook his head and trotted lazily towards them, a relaxed tail flipping in the air behind him.
"Ho! You are welcome to the meadow, both!" he bellowed, a warm, throaty voice sailing across the grass. "Are you looking for shelter, or just passing through?"

Napaea snickered and galloped, her beautiful silver mane that shined like the moon streamed behind her.She neighed and stopped,a cloud of dust rising. She noticed Mist and the stallion and briskly threw her head high, and her twinkling blue eyes gleamed. She pranced just for show and turned and then cantered, her hooves rising high with each step. Napaea snickered and her white coat, speckled with silver shined in the sun. Napaea looked around trying to spot a fellow horse. A stallion cantered towards her and circled her and stopped in front of her. Napaea flicked her tail and dipped her head, the stallion snickered and nudged her neck. Napaea paused and rubbed her head against his neck. The stallion raised his tail high, showing his dominance and started off at a slow canter, seeing how fast Napaea could go. Napaea neighed,"I'm Napaea, who are you?" the stallion stopped and trotted back to her,"I'm Thunder." he neighed, throwing his head up and his black coat gleamed.A white blaze streaked his fore head. Napaea snickered and galloped, gliding across the muddy plain, mud splattering her legs, her hooves covered in mud.Thunder neighed and thundered past her and snickered in triumph. Napaea grimaced and pushed ahead, taking more wide, quick strides and flew past Thunder. Napaea reached a pond and heaved, nostrils flaring. She thrust her head into the pond and gulped down the cool water.Thunder soon was by her side and was drinking the refreshing water.Thunder finished and nudged Napaea,"I have to go.My...Herd is leaving.See you tomorrow?" Thunder neighed and smiled and galloped off with a few mares and one colt streaming behind him and he disappeared down the hill.Napaea sighed and watched him go.She snickered and rose her head and turned, looking around before running over to a fern patch and paused, checking for predators and then laid down and rested. She rose and trotted in circles before galloping off.
