Suggestion Marathon

In the tradition of Night Sky Equines, we are once again hosting a Suggestion Marathon! This is an event which encourages members to post any feedback they might have for the site, big or small. At the end of the week, the event closes and suggestions are discussed in further depth.

Feedback can be anything, such as ideas about boards, comments on typos or organization, information you’d like to see, things you might dislike, things you want to stay the same, etc.

Whether new or old, your input is always worth hearing. Let the suggestions and feedback begin!

I have two suggestions! ^^

An IC chat box and a place to post journals.

Basically, the IC chat box is just like the chat box we have now, except you chat using your characters. Kind of like a mini-rp. I find it's a great way to keep members coming back and a fun way to pass time if you don't really have much time to post that day. Anything that happens in the IC chat would be considered non-canon, though the IC chat box can be a great way to test out new plots and characters that may become canon in the future by posting it in more depth on the boards.

The journals are basically a track record of your threads that you have. I know I'd go insane trying to keep track of all my threads on another RP site I'm a part of if I didn't have my own thread in the Journal section to keep detailed records of my threads. This is an example of my journal from another site I'm a part of.

I noticed that all the characters are lumped into one category, which is displeasing to my OCD tendencies. xD

I propose we make sub-forums for characters to be sorted, so we could separate them by Mares, Stallions, Colts, Fillies and I guess NPCs if we have them on this site. I'm not sure how NPCs work here, to be honest.

It'll just be easier to find the characters we want. Oh, and if Proboards allows this, sort the threads alphabetically in that forum.

I like having character journals, but not to keep track of threads (though admittedly, that is a great reason too. that's why i have one on CI lol). But I also like using ones to put all characters together, including their views on separate individuals, their children... kinda like another profile, but all personally spiffied up and lovely. example one example two example three example four

Oh I do that, too, but I tack it onto their profiles. ^^ So the first post is just about them, then the second post is all their relationships and whatnot.

Example.

I guess people could use the journals as they see fit. You could use it to keep track of threads or as a relationship organizer, etc...

We did once try journals. I think I may have just hid the board since it was never used. XD But if it's used, it'd be pretty cool.

My suggestions:

Clarification on pregnancy/ foals/ length of time.
Clarification on the challenge rules.

Quick reference, short (one word?) summaries in profiles. =D

A question and answer place/ other clarification on miscellaneous stuff.

Information on setting, flora/ fauna (already doing that, but shhhh.) Would you find it useful? Or would it feel restrictive? It would always growwwww as we desired.

And 'The Book of the World'! The ridiculously silly name of a project I would like to pursue, documenting NSE's history and anything 'canon' that anyone can use as they desire, or completely ignore since history here is not important to know, and that we can grow with all our sexy new charries.

I BEG to be allowed to help with this NSE history book, I would absolutely love it. I'd be all over the Shores chapter like you wouldn't believe. Could make us a little passworded board to compile the research in and stuff?!

Also I suggest a sub-board for plotting rather than it clogging the main general board lika whoa.

I suppose since plotting is actually being used, we could make a sub board for it. Last time it felt unused, like the journals, haha. XD
