I will type up an official thread at length, detailing some of the changes in a more concise, pretty manner. This is more to avoid confusion on the herd statuses.
This is of course a terrible thing for an admin especially to up and do, because I have indirectly powerplayed some characters. Please let me know if this irks you, because we can work around it 100%.
Anyway, when things get slow here, I usually jump things by going ahead and OOC changing the plot. So this is a rundown on what happened IC and what is changing.
Last year, NSE was hit by an earthquake/ tsunami, which took the coastline (that'd be the Floodplain). These used to be the 'best' lands, because they were warm and plentiful.
The Fields have always been rumoured to be haunted. Gertrude tried to start up a herd there to recover after everything got destroyed. (So did a few others, but they are inactive or have departed.) Eventually she meets Hades, and they get together.
Sometime later, Gertrude and Hades went into the Deep Forest to look for the herd there, since they were worried something happened. Instead they found Skraelinga and this is about the time we slowed down.
So Ashleigh has returned with Delmar as leader of Creekfall, and this puts Skraelinga at a perfect time to take over the north eastern lands (Fields, Forest, Mountains). I've pretty much done this without permission. This means Skraelinga ousts Gertrude and Hades. (Whatever their fate is, is up to their players of course.)
Skraelinga is pretty much setting up to be in control of all the horses of Night Sky. It's his vision of a perfect world. If you try to leave, his 'Guardians' will hunt you down and drag you back or kill you. Gertrude is currently warning horses who come into the Fields away as a result. She's going to tell them to go to Delmar at Creekfall, the last safe haven of Night Sky.
I've done this for two reasons. Historically, and when we reopened, NSE has had trouble keeping a unified herd since the Sandy Shores and Tropical Island went under. Generally there tend to be small, scattered herds with little interaction. This forces interaction until we're more stable.
It's also sort of fun. Nothing like a group of goons hunting you down and pushing you around. By the by, the Guardians/ Hunters are NPCs and anyone may play them. You can also make an official character as a hunter too, if you like.
Anyway, if anyone is supremely bothered by this (especially you, Hades! ^^) let me knowwww!

Ooooh! I like the idea of forcing the herds to interact! That sounds radsauce!

;D Gotta get some herds first, lawls. I like. Perhaps Delmar and her will be allies. =D Which makes me think about the workablity of herds. Hmm, we needs horsies on both sides. Poor, captured onesssses, and exciting rebel onessss, and captured ones who are rebels, rawr.

I don't mind Delilah being captured or whatever, maybe she'll grow up a bit there. xD
