[occ; All Tropical Island herd members reply here.]
.windago you can't drag down a king. This mighty king came, from the very swirlling waters that had consumed his kingdom. You can tear down a kingdom, but you can't drag down a king. He stood mightly upon the cliff rocks that he could remember from so long ago that he had almost fought Vinny for these cursed lands. Now he had stumbled back upon them for shelter. Who owned these lands now? He looked back to a shadowed area, where his family should stand, huddled and protected by their lead mare. He looked for his dove, Oasis, didn't spot her, but he knew she was safe. Looking back up to the top, he continued his climb. He would find safety for them, if he had to battle it out with the lead stallion. He didn't want these lands, he wanted him home to dry up and reappear in the horizen so he could go home, but he would fight for his family.
Long stides lifted the heavy Friesian up the rocks that were so much easier to walk upon then the sands of the beach, desert, and island. His plate sized talons gripped each rock as he stepped up. His eyes focused. All 18 hands of this wise, kind stranger continued to move up, as his onyx coat began to dry in the sun. It was spring. Oh he wished that he could mate with Oasis for a son. He wanted something to carry his genes on. Yes, Mircale was soon to breed with her lover, but he wanted a child too. Even in his old age he did. He didn't really care for his age anymore, he found as days wore on since they had been swimming from their homes, he had become stronger, healthier....and almost younger. He paused and took a breather on a large ledge that he had met Vinny on, so long ago. With a deep breath inhaled, he reared and called out to the lead of these lands.
Coming back to the sheet of rock under him, his large talons could be heard clicking as he paced, a-raat-tatt-tat-a-raat-tat. Back and forth. He didn't want to fight, he just wanted a place to keep his family save until the waters resided from their lovely home far away. Surely this stallion would understand? Windago spotted charred ground everywhere. The fires had raged here worse then other places, it almost was like it had started here. Maybe this stallion would understand, for it was obvious that he probally had just moved back into his kingdom after evacuating it too. Windago sighed, and looked out, the sea in the distance. Glittering innocently in the sunlight like it was not the cause of the harm and heart ache to Windago's gentle heart. Looking around with kind eyes, he looking back down the cliff, looking for his family in the bushes that he had told them to hide. Either while he was taking care of buisiness, he always kept an eye on his loved ones.

Freedom had been in a clearing when he heard the call of a stallion. He took off at a gallop until he caught sight of the stallion. He stayed at a gallop until he came nearer and recgonized the stallion as Windago. He slowed to a trot as he came within five feet of the stallion. He nodded his head once with a smile " Welcome to the Rocky Mountains Windago. You probably don't remember but you once housed my half sister Katrina(Sp?) I am Freedom Moon and what brings you here?" He asked while looking at the stallion in front of him.

x x x AURORA im the new cancer never looked better
It was so cold; every agonising second of this, she shivered violently and everything ached. She could so easily give up right here, right now, give up this fight to protect the herd, and life. She was prepared to give up life itself, she was old, even though she’d never admit this out loud she was and there was nothing that could changed that. She inhaled a deep throated breath through her nasals, wafting through her lungs before leaving through her lips. She was wet, cold, sore and tired, but she had to keep going. She parted her jaws to emit speech to the herd which she was busy herding up from the water. She didn’t care who it was, she just yelled, until her throat was dry and it hurt to talk.
"Move it! Hurry up! Don’t dawdle, move!"
The mare trot around the herd, every time she moved her aching pistons, they fell limper and limper and she felt like she’d fall under the crowd of the horses who remained stronger then her. They were younger, fitter, and hadn’t been running around the large herd for an hour. Gathering them up and making sure they got out of the water. She could’ve said more, but she tightly clenched jaws together, the salty taste through hr dentals didn’t help with her dry, sore throat.
She tossed honey brown gaze over the herd surrounding the area, with the rocks getting in the way of everyone, and only ruining Aurora’s patience even worse. A course frown was stained over her features, as she forced herself up the mountain, ever few steps she slipped off a rock and threatened to drop entirely down the mountain, but she managed to get up to the same layer as Windago was, since she was about to collapse, she couldn’t be around the massive group of panicking horses crying out for attention that Aurora couldn’t provide.x x x

.Munchie. .Arabian. .6 years.
Flickers crossed as sound was heard. Not one from Freedom Moon or any of the herd members. Therefore this must be a new member. Quite recently the horses had been arriving at the mountains, partially because of the flooding and the mountains were not too badly affected from the waters. She was already have tough times as it was, her annoyance level had zoomed up to a 99 and she really didn‘t need any more temptation to raise it to 100. Spring generally made mares fiesty and she was one to be the biggest problem. Becoming lead brought up her confidence, she was like a nearly new mare. Air brought new scent to nares as she peered over the edge to see new horses one by one coming. Her first thoughts were that these horses are probably here to take over, though part of her didn‘t think of that. Perhaps there lands had become flooded. In any case she wouldn‘t be on to let them in too easily. It already looked as if perhaps Freedom Moon was letting them stay. But that was always how her loved one was. A big softie. It didn‘t matter who you were he always had a place for other horses. Immediately she kicked her hind legs up into a fast canter, not a gallop so she wouldn‘t slide off the edge.
A walk got her gait as she walked beside Freedom Moon. Tiara lifted slightly as she took in the mass of horses arriving, and one mare that seemed to be leading them against the handsome black stallion that was obviously lead stallion as he confronted Freedom Moon. I am taking that you are leading a land here, before you step past please tell us why you have arrived. she would not stand nonsense of any, and would definitely not be belittled. She was a small mare and could view some different sized horses that almost compared to her. Though despite her size she could easily move horses away. And if they started they could turn back. This was Freedom’s and Munchies lands. If they wanted a place to rest they would have to keep their temper. If only Outlaw was here… Where had he got to. She missed him so. Remembering the times when they argued but he became guardian of the lands, brought Puppet… then disappeared. Puppet stayed a while not now Munchie had neither saw her in a while. In fact half the members were missing, perhaps it was the fires doing. And how she missed her darling Cherokee stallion friend. And where had he got to? Dead? .Espirit. .Arabian x. .4 years.
The journey had been long, like a voyage. Sun not always a blazing. Yet when It did at least the water was cool enough to cool Espirit down. Dusk, her brother lagged greatly behind so she was surprised she was near enough one of the first few to reach the mountains. She knew she should lag behind with Dusk but part of her wanted to join with Zorro, yet it was her duty to look after Dusk so she lagged. Heaving herself onto the partially flooded mountains she looked around for Zorro. No where. She had only known him a while but in that time she felt they grew close, and she knew exactly what he feelings were towards him. The Spanish accent, as well as the to-die-for words! Sun kissed body thrived itself to regain standing position once more, and she did just that, standing tall, well at a few 15hh. She caught up with Windago, nuzzling him on the velvet in friendly greeting. Watching Aurora moving the horses along, and some part of the golden mare assumed Aurora didn‘t like her. Lets just say she seemed frustrated at the first day they improperly met.
Pools followed the ebon’ mare that watched over the rocks, and still her gaze caught hers as she cantered towards her loved one. The leads. Obviously. She wanted to say something to this mare who turned her flares up at the sight of the herd. But Windago and Aurora were lead they had to take this. Stepping behind Windago a little turning her crani’ to wonder where her brother was. A slight dot of sorrel filled her sighting. Having great difficulty swimming in the water. At once she raised signals, galloping wildly. The water reached her stomach and she saw why he struggled. Dipping her tiara into the water, she could sight sea weed that strangled Dusk’s fetlock. Immediately her razors dived into the water, pincing at the weeds until it un tightened. She lifted Dusk half way onto her back, he was immensely heavy for such a dainty mare like herself. And finally she reached the shores. Alone.

But then she cracked. Every inch of her body was throbbing, she could hear her pulse. Every one of her lower limbs had blood dribbling down them; she was absolutely soaked from swimming a long, long way for an hour, constantly pulling herself behind the herd to keep them going. She was their motivation; nobody was going to stand in her way. Not now, she’d come so close and she was suffering. Aurora was old, but her wrath was still fresh.
She tossed her gaze over the large group of horses struggling through the rocks and out of the water, still catching their breath. After confirming that they were fine by themselves for a moment, she sharply turned up towards Windago, quickening her agonising pace towards him; her motivation. Spilling every tightening knot in her stomach of frustration and anger, she let the mare have it instead.
"For God's sake you fool; the herd is drowning! The god damn rain came in and now our Island is gone, whether you like it or not we’re stepping past!"
Before she could swallow the pathetically thick mare with her blasphemy and curse words, a sudden commotion started down at the shore of the mountain (well the newly created shore anyway) she clenched dentals together, and again ignored the thumping pain in her legs as she leapt off the side of the cliff, when the tide was rising and it was taking a few of the last herd members.
But, she didn’t make it.
As pillars collided with the rocky surface again, inches away from the water where she prepared to nip at the herd members up that cliff she just jumped, her knees buckled and she fell to the ground, the rocks slicing through her skin and she clashed against it. x x x

Freedom had watched the new mare for awhile and had heard every word she spoke. Then when she tried to go down the rocky cliff and fell he went after her. With speed that he had gotten over the years of travaling up and down these cliffs he went towards the mare and stopped right below her. He tried to place himself right below her so that she would have to hit him before she skidded farther anymore. He looked up towards Munchie and the stallion he knew as Windago. He whinnied towards them to see if they could help him. He then lowered himself down to make it harder for the mare to pass him if she collided with him through her fall.

.windago i had it, and i lost it; now you gotta help me
get it back again. He sighed as the lead stumbled before him, and he lowered his towering frame to a gentle bow that was passed from king to king. He raised an eyebrow at the gent that stood before him and talked like they had been friends for as long as they could remember, this wasn't true. Windago had no memory of ever meeting this stag or housing his sister at his land, but all is well, the stallion spoke gently. Then the lead femme stepped up, and acted like she was the male figure in the lands. He stomped a large talon at her annoyances, a lead mare should never interrupt a stallion. Glaring at her he bent his head in a sassy bow to her "lady" and then spoke with a rich, deep, wild, powerful and commanding voice that was still gentle and sweet. "Dear Lady of these lands, it is very rude to interrupt your king when he is talking to another. Please fall silent and you will hear of our voyage." He turned back to the shy king. Yes, this 'Freedom Moon' seemed to be rather shy when it came to taking the leadership skills of the land. All the same, Windago treated him with far more respect then his lady. It was appearent Freedom Moon knew Windago wasn't here to harm the lands and such. With his gentle voice, he said softly, "Greetings to you King Freedom Moon. Yes, I am Windago. I have no memory of ever meeting you or your sister, but I believe we can fix that. But, my family is in grave danger and we mustn't stand around chit-chatting-" He was broke off as Aurora stumbled up to him and he flared his nares out at her before placing a kind touch to her flank. Turning back, his auds suddenly flattened to his skull as Aurora had appearnetly heard what the other lead mare had said and decided to say something back. Stepping between the two, he touched Aurora's face softly. "Aurora, I will solve this. Rest, you helped me get our family here, now let me take the rest." He turned back to Freedom Moon, and said softly. "Sorry for my Queen, Aurora, she has had a long trip fighting the waters that took our lands. She speaks the truth, our home is flooded and we need a place to stay. She also speaks rather rudely of stepping past...But the truth is, if you two don't allow me to stay with my pleasent family until the waters reside, I will force my way in for the safety of my family. And by the looks of it, you guys don't have very much of a home, so please- don't let this turn to a war." He spoke softly, his voice gentle, but that powerful ring made him seem viscious. As he stood back to his full height, he towered over both leads of the small herd. Then he heard Aurora moe, turning back to look, he watched her leap out to help the stragglers of his land. Muttering cursing under his black breath, he turned with a elegant stride, every muscle in his body twitched as he strode over, his long mane and tail sweeping out with each step. He watched Freedom Moon zip out to help Aurora, and immediately he like the shy king. He hurried down to Aurora. Touching her face softly, he nickered his worries. This trip was harder on the older ones, he knew it for he took a toll on himself to stand tall and make the members feel braver. He looked into the mass of his family, furrowing his face when he didn't see the spotted femme that he loved. He needed Oasis beside him now, she was his motivation.[/blockquote]

Freedom looked up towards Windago and nodded his head " You housed my sister a very long time ago I think." He said with a small smile before nodding his head " Of course you and your herd can stay in these lands. As you said yourself our herd is small but our lands are large." He said while then starting to stand up from trying to help Aurora. He nodded his head towards Munchie before looking back towards Windago " Let me be the first to welcome to the Rocky Mountains you may stay as long as you wish." He said while looking up at the stallion with a nod of his head. The Rocky Mountains only had about four or five members so they had plenty to eat and drink.

A gray Percheron mare breathed deeply, tired from her swim. She had kept up with the group well, but had not the will to have kept up with Aurora. What the fiery Queen had done had given Wynne a great respect for her, and she was glad that the herd had such a strong Queen to help guide it. The large mare dragged her bodice upon the shore on shaking columns, slowly making her way to be with the group. But, as the lead mare fell, she paused and stared behind her at the willful Aurora. Knowing that if she helped, she would surely be snapped at, she just stood still, not knowing what to do. Then, her brown optics caught sight of Windago comforting her, and Wynne continued her slow path up the mountain so that she was once again with the herd.
There were many equines here that she had never met. Some she had never even seen. She gazed around with a confused haze in her eyes, trying to get a grip on what had happened. Windago hadn't stayed. He had joined his herd after all. This made her happy. But, still, she felt as if she had failed him. She held her crown low, and tried to blend in with the crowd, which was hard because of her large form. Her nares caught the scent of an unfamiliar ground, and she silently pleaded that all of this had been some horrible dream. Yet, each time she looked around, she realized it was not a dream. This was reality. The herd's home had been lost.
Her auds caught the rest of the conversation, and she heaved a sigh of relief. Good. They had a place to stay. But, still her future wasn't secure. If not for what Windago had asked of her, she would have shied away from the herd already. And still the thoughts of doing so surrounded her. She was sure that Windago would not forgive her for what happened to Oasis back on the now non-existent island. And she was sure that Aurora would never stop hating her. So, what was she doing here? Why had she come here -other than the fact she didn't have a death wish? Maybe she should leave. Just sneak away. Wynne was unbelievably quiet for her size, and could easily just fall away from the group to find another home.
But, what on earth was she thinking?! How could she abandon her herd like that? How could she take so lightly the kindness Windago had shown her? What an ungrateful mare she was! Wynne held her dial lower, trying desperately not to be noticed. She just wanted to live a nice quiet life. And, even if it meant not having friends, she would not care as long as she didn't have enemies. But, that decision was no longer hers. She could no longer live the quiet, secluded life she wanted, unless she wanted to betray the probably already dwindling trust of Windago and leave. This she could not do. He had been her only friend, and she couldn't leave him. So, until he asked her to leave, she just tried to blend in with the rest of the herd.

Oh yes, my poetry owns. Grr, misquitos!
Haha to, Espirit, Aurora, and Wynne. Cause for some reason the misquitos have decided to inhabit the lesser flooded mountains. Don't know why. Woohoo, West Nile Virus. Aka, the Gaia version two. Be infected, be immune.

.Munchie. .Anglo Arabian. .6 years. Fae stamped her hoof furiously. How dare this 'Windago' and his femme ponder in her shared lands and call her a fool. And how dare the ebon beast tell her what she must do and dis respect her so. She knew how to control a herd, and this wasn't his herd. She was free to speak her mind. Pools followed those of the elderly but fiery chestnut fae who dubbed 'Queen of the Rocky Mountains... fool.' Talons gripped to the soaken, once dusty grounds. Pools switched to Freedom Moon then Windago as they attempted to sort of rescue her. Lyrics opened up as Freedom Moon accepted the herd into their domain.
Looking onwards she spotted more horses, mares and some stallions arriving. A golden mare caught her eye, she chuckled as the fae depped back into those trecherous waters. She was tired. Freedom Moon was so fond of everyone. Not a single bad bone in his bodice. Yet she was proud to call him her lover. Talons lurched off the ground forwards to Freedom. Her lyrics once more poured out into his ears, so softly that only he should hear. I have no problem with the herd visitng here m'love. But you can tell they already dislike me.

.Espirit. .Arabian x. .4 years. Dusk! she screamed loudly, sun kissed bodice disappearing under the water. Waves throttling her around as if trying to swallow her dainty body. Choking her razors gleamed as the jaw stretched open forcing way an exit for the waters to depart. She could not hold on for much longer, his sorrel bodice thrashing against hers yet slowly slipping away to the dark pit that lay down onto the floor. Here she was helpless and she knew it. Her lost brother, dying. Helpless as she were she needed to do something about it. She could not let him die here.
She could feel his heart pounding. Hooves out the water trying to swim forlornly, though it wasn't happening. Every few seconds his crown disappeared back under the depths. Dusk had travelled almost a day across sea to reach his sister... Espirit and now he had to travel for hours to another destination. Help! she repeated crying out loudly. But she had problems of her own. She felt a sudden pain across her rump, like a small insect bite. And it worked quickly. Drowsiness completed her and she slowly, so slowly began to sink underneath the waters.

Freedom nuzzled Munchie on the neck with a small smile on his face. " Munchie they do not dislike you." He said with a small chuckle before he nuzzled her neck once more before whispering " I have to tell you something but later it is not very important though." He said as he heard other horses nearby and one of them yell out the name Dusk.

(Soooo sorry I haven't posted in ages!!!) Today was gonna be the day But they'll never throw it back to you By now you should've somehow
Realized what you gotta do But I don't believe that anybody Feels the way I do About you now
Swings and round-a-bouts. Wasn’t that how it was meant to be? What happened? When did my fairytale fall into this abyss of confusion and desperation? Silent thoughts were all she could cling to now. A dappled femme, crushed and reborn, alone and surrounded. Somehow, through the veil of mystification, Oasis placed one dagger before the other, dragging dotted, weary chassi through foreign lands and treacherous paths. Emerald pools were fixed to the earth, misted and distant, the spark of light dimmed by deep concentration. Though if only she could find the questions to her answers.
The Appaloosa didn’t remember being here, couldn’t fathom how she was walking admist the throng of those she loved, lost was the memory of lifting from the sands where she lay broken ‘pon the disappearing shores of what was left of her home. All she could feel was…light. Tremendous relief, unbelievable joy, and slowly, her crystal gaze lifted, to fall ‘pon the miracle and the only reason breath still escaped from her lungs. Windago. The onyx Friesian stallion that had miraculously returned to her side. It was close…too close. At that time, when the ebony knight fled like a hero, the Lord serving selflessly to save his people, the Appaloosa had seen the end of her life draw near. Saw the very essence of her being die away in the heavy drumbeats of the hellion’s fading dagger-steps.
And Windago, Windago was prepared to leave me. To abandon me to this world alone. That’s not how its meant to be. We should pass into the next life hand-in-hand. Together
And all the roads that lead to you were winding And all the lights that light us there are blinding There are many things that I would like to say to you But I don't know how
The fea’s feminine tiara was now lifted, gaze flicking over the familiar faces, the equines around her. Aurora…Wynne…Miracle. All traitors. They said good-bye. Actually stood and let their Leige run straight into death. Do they hate him that much? Are they cruel enough to want to see their Lord die? Out of pure selfish spite. Bitter, bitter thoughts. Yet maybe the shock, the mourning of the beautiful island, was clouding her judgment. Or maybe, Oasis was facing a truth only she could see..
Because maybe You're gonna be the one who saves me And after all You're my wonderwall
It is I, that's left All alone To carry this burden Of a thousand woes
A lithe figure of smoke, pushing onwards through fatigue and pain. Elated beyond wonder that her dear father had returned. Yet doubts, and pain, shrouded her bliss. Where were they to live? On what, and how would they survive? Was everyone here? What if someone was left behind? The young Appaloosa was plagued with images of lone soles, abandoned, and being taken prisoner by the cruel grey waves. A shiver shot down her dappled spine. Oh, how she missed Anubis, if only he was at her side.
Crystal gaze flicked to her left, landing ‘pon the broken image of her mother. Miracle barely recognised her, and a fear knotted into a tight ball at the pitt of her stomach. Velvet plush cautiously reached out to gently caress the hide of Oasis, hoping to soothe away the worries. Though she knew she couldn’t wipe the scars that had marred her trust, her belief in those she loved.
Her attention was suddenly grasped by an incident near the front of the procession of equines. Thorns pricked forth, catching the syllables spoken from Windago and Aurora to the King of these lands. Wondering now what new dilemma would be flung in their path.
Swings and round-a-bouts…indeed…
Just hear my cry Heed my plight And make good the wish, that you grant tonight
