Jinx Luck Is What You Make Of It... Jinx wandered aimlessly on the desert terrain, not really knowing where he was. He held his head high, though the sun's rays beating down on him, made that harder and harder to do. He let out a loud snort as the sand fell away from his feet. He saw no end to the dry wasteland, and he wanted to leave, but something made him go on, something he knew nothing of, for he had no idea any could actually inhabit this place. Jinx reared up as a lizard dashed across his path, surprising him. When he returned to all fours he decided to take shelter under the tree that was near him... Wait a minute! A Tree? How can anything grow out here Jinx thought to himself, but when he looked at it, it didn't look like any tree he had ever seen before. But that was because i wasn't a tree, exactly. It was a very tall cactus. But jinx had no recondition of the thing, just that it's sharp needles pricked his skin when he got close to it, though the shade was comforting. Jinx scanned the area around him, taking in the sandy dunes that seamed to stretch on for ever. With his zinniths pricked he listened for any sing of life, but nothing came to him. though in the shade of the cactus, the sand beneath Jinx's hooves was still hot and burned in his frogs, making him shift from foot to foot often. He was used to sand, but not like this. He had challenged a steed for his home not too long ago, and he hadn't had a disadvantage on the sandy terrain, he just hadn't been experienced enough, too sure of himself winning that he lost, and he had hid near the waters edge for a while, before figuring he'd better swim back to the main land. He would return though, and challenge the steed again. But when that time came he was certain he could win it, but then again nothing was ever for sure. Jinx let out a high pitched whinny, calling to see if any would hear him and come forward, he had no clue what fate had in-store for him, nor what had become of his younger brother. Even though Fell had been younger than Jinx, he had still "ruled" over the foals in the home herd, and that was exactly what had irritated Jinx the most, he was a year older but still treated like a newborn by his brother. But that was then, now e simply stood, gazing out at the world around him, not knowing that the sun was quickly setting behind the distant mountains. ...Not What It Makes Of You

Fell Trust In Me.... Fell heard a high pitched whinny coming from the middle of his lands, but decided to wait until sundown befor advancing outwards toward whomever had come. When the sun fell behind the mountains Fell set out at a thundering gallop, covering the ground quickly, the still hot sands flying up behind him. When he reached the ridge he used to scan the territory for intruders or possible herd members, he scaned the terrain, able to see a lone ways around him he spotted a red stained body near a very large cactus, wondering why they were standing so close to it, he then relized that it was a perfect thing for sade when the sun came back up. But no mater. Fell let out a loud neigh, his zinniths slightly put back as the scent of another stalli made it's way into his nose. he thundered down the ridge, it was not a steep one, but there were small bushes and torny brushes all along the sides which made it quite tricky to go down at such a pace, unless of course you knew the terrain well. And indeed Fell did, he easily manuvered him way down the hill towards the steed standing by the cactus. He slowed to a trot when he bot closer, then to a walk. The red-bay steed was about 5 feet away from him now, and Fell could clearly make out him features. The steed's hide was scared with wounds, probably from previous battles, though some were still open and slowly healing. Who are you and what do you want here.He questioned, paitently waiting the stalli's responce, it would be good to have some company around, even if the stalli didn't want to stay, it would be a refreshing change from the lonley life he was leading here. His mucles rippled under his black stained hide, his zinniths slightly back, but his orbs sparked with interest. Even though the horse was another stallion, once again, Fell was lonely so even the company of this wanderer, so to speak, was good company. Fell didn't worry too much on weather the steed had come to steal his land for there was not much here, and Fell had spent alot more time here than this one had, so Fell would have the advantage. No matter though, for now he watched the steed, waiting a reply to pass the stalli's muzzle. ...I Will Never Lead You Astray

Jinx Luck Is What You Make Of It... Jinx spotted the black stained stallion come towards him. He had no idea where the steed had come from or why it had taken him so long to get there, then he considered the fact that maybe he knew how to keep cool in this land. His zinniths pricked, his orbs searching he listened to the stalli's words. I'm Jinx, and i've come to see if i can stay here for a while. He voiced. The stallion in front of him looked strangly like his brother Fell, though alot older, so it could be anyone. He scented the air, wondering if the steed ha any others here, he did not hear any others, nor did he see any, so he guessed that the stalli was alone in the destert. As he swished with black tail, whisps of hair got caught on the cactus's needles, and Jinx whipped around, surprized, and almost got a face full of neddles. Jinx shuddered at the closness of the thing. Who are you though? and are you here alone? He questioned as he turned back around, facing the steed once more, he made sure to be on awares, for if wandering had taught him anything it was that things could happen whithout warning, and an attack from the steed infront of him was not impossable to happen, so he watched the stalli closely studying his features the whole time. ...Not What It Makes Of You

Fell Trust In Me... Fell tossed his head and his black forelock shited from infront of his eyes. The name was familure to him, he traced it through his memory. He finnaly came up with an answere on to who the steed was. Jinx, Fell's older brother had come to him with out even knowing it. What luck. It had been a long time since they had seen one another. Fell's zinniths pricked, and his stance lost the aggressivness he had been keeping, for surly his own brother would not strike him, at least not now. Then you may... Brother.Fell voiced, turning around and heading out towards his look out. He had no herd to look out for, but he would look out for wanderers who found themelves lost in the desert. Though it was not the smartest thing to do to have a large herd here, Fell had been scouting the lands every night since the day he claimed the terra and had found a place where grass grew. It was where a large rock shot up from the ground, sheltering the area from the shifting sands. The ground was lower than the rest of the desert so it was damp, the moist earth great for the growing grass seeds. But of course this came with a pice, onec it was gone it would be a while befor anything grew there again, for the desert didn't often carry seeds on the breeze, especially not this close to winter. Back the the brothers though. Fell turned to answere Jinx's question. I am here alone, none inhabit these lands but me. And the occasional lizard or torsise. He began. Fell had come to know most of the things that were in the deserts, from the plants to the other animals that found a home here, he knew them, but not what they did or much else about them. Back to Jinxs other question though. Do you not know me brother? I am FellHe finnished. Swishing his tail he set off towards his outlook once more. glancing behind him to see what Jinx would do with this new knolage, that his younger brother had been standing befor him, though Fell had exeded the usual height for a mustang, so he towered over Jinx now, rather than the other way around. ...I Will Never Lead You Astray.

Jinx Luck Is What You Make Of It... Jinx noticed the steeds sudden change in stance, though he hadn't noticed the aggressiveness before he did now, as the black stained stalli seamed to change his mind set. Jinx's zinniths were pricked for the stalli's words, to see if he could stay here for the time being. What he didn't expect to hear, was ...Brother. Jinx snorted, but brushed it off, as a sign of acceptance into the land. I thank you, then.He nickered politely. He looked around suddenly realizing it was dark out. At the steeds next sentence a smile crossed Jinx's muzzle. No one else lived here but them, now, and some reptiles. As the lack stallion started off, Jinx went forward too, he did not know where to go for anything in this land and thought it might be best to stick by someone who did. But the the steed stopped and turned his head to-wards Jinx again, and Jinx stopped too. There, he said it again. The steed had called Jinx his brother. He was very confused now, for the stallion standing before Jinx could not actually be his brother, for the height of the steed towered over Jinx. But the words to come next startled and confused him more than he was before, and when Fell set out once more Jinx just stood there stupidly. Thats why he called me brother, thats why. It Is. I set out for a new home and instead i found Fell. Fell my younger brother, who somehow towers over my now. o any others Jinx's thoughts would have sounded strange, but his mind was whirling. He had found his brother where he had never expected to see him. In the same place where Jinx had run too. Maybe that was why the pull was so strong, that his heart knew that Jinx would find Fell here. None-the-less he trotted after his brother now, walking beside him. He would not stay long in his brothers land though, for just like him he had the desire to rule a land of his own. But he would stay here to let his wounds heal, then he would set out once more to challenge another for their home, for to challenge his brother would be an abomination, and it would not go over well. ...Not What It Makes Of You
