The Spirit of the cross-breed still remains in all out hearts.
A tribute to Spirit, one of the best known equines of NSE history.
The past of Spirit was hard but he got through, there were times of hardhsip and friendship, there were deaths and births, but all the way through he belived he could survive, and he did, until his very lands swallowed him up and he was lost to the world, and his young son, Storm, was forced to take his place with even harder battles to fight....
All I know...

It's so unreal...
Spirit was the second stallion to enter the land of NSE and soon met up with Bayard and Amber upon the oceon cliff. He loved Amber at first sight, unknowing of the trauma he would have to go through the obtain her. She refued to go with the cross breed stallion and went to the bay stags lands. Why? Beacuse Spirit had no herd, even though Amber didnt realy want to go with the quater horse. Spirit challenged for lands but lost, and was alone for a short while, before he dicovered the Sandy Shores. He claimed them quickly and was soon in search of the chestnut mustang.

I kept everything inside and even though I tried
it all fell apart...
He found her and stole her away, followed by Meg and Ardraline. At first, they were all peaceful, until it came to deciding the lead. Spirit was inclined to choose Amber, but she stupidly allowed Bayard to breed her and so that idea was lost. Meg was Ambers best friend at the time, and Spirit was afraid the two would fall out if the appoloosa was chosen. So Ardraline became to first queen, and she was hurt for it emotionaly. She died soon after this, and Spirit belived it was his own fault and grieved for a long time. When he was finaly ready to replance her title with Amber - if she was prooven loyal now that she had Bayards child - Tsuki came along. The huge shire was strong and Spirit was soon her friend, she was the next lead. But a new mare, the palomino Summers Sunset, loved Spirit secretly and battled Tsuki. She lost and tried to drown herself. The lead saved her, and became fed up and depressed. Tsuki killed herself that very day. Spirit wasnt having much luck with lead mares, it seemed. Both had died under the pressure. As it had been Summers fault, he wasnt ever to be queen. At last it was Ambers turn.
What it meant to me will eventually
be a memory of a time when I tried so hard

It wasnt long after when Meg birthed Spirits first son; Tequilla Shores. Tequilla was a happy colt, but knowing his mother and father wernt in love corrupted him and angered him. To Tequilla, Spirit was nothing but a common whore. He didnt want to take after him, but he was already crowned as the hier, the prince of the Shores. He ran away to join a band of dark equines. During this winter, Amber was almost drowned in the watering hole, but the brave Spirit rushed in to help her out of the freezing waters. He came out with two broken knees which stayed with him until death.
In spite of the way you were mocking me

I'm surprised it got so far...
When Tequilla was two, his half brother, Storm, was born. Storms mother was Amber, the queen and Spirits mate. He wasd the true prince, the one Spirit had been waiting for. He was crowned the new hier and Tequilla was forgotten. Storm had many sisters, including Magic and Fall. His best friend was a mischivious white colt named Curse. But the antics of the colts were ignored due to arrival of the Outlaws. One, Omen, was supposed to have killed Spirits first son, and so war had begun.
Things aren't the way they were before
You wouldn't even recognize me anymore
Not that you knew me back then
But it all comes back to me
In the end...
Denizen was the leader and the fight between them was powerful. It seemed Spirit was about to be mudered befure his friend and family upon the lands her loved, until the seas saved him from such an ending. Instead of Denizen getting his wish, both were drowned and lost to the oceon. Soul, son of Denizen and Spirits half brother, ended the war and Storm became king.

He was a simple thoroughbred X mustang, yet his heiritage was the reason the shire beast Denizen was after him. It was because of his father that Spirit died young and that his son was forced to rule at just two years of age, but it also brought peace to the lands, and Denizens hatred was lost to the Shores, the place he tried to destroy with his evil ways. Spirit had a curse that his father had given him, his bones were fragile and often ached, causing him to collapse. But the love his his friend helped him through, and he thanks all of them; his herd members; Windago; his children; all the others that met him during his struggle to survive. Without them, the Stallion of the Shores would have fallen beofe his time was due.
Thankyou for keeping him alive. I owe you one.
